Obedience Practice The Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club will offer Obedience prac ces in Building 21:

Friday, October 15th from 6 to 8 pm, 30 minutes a er the end of Obedience/Rally judging and running for 90 minutes. $7.00 for 7 minutes;

no more than 2 consecu ve sessions.


Attention Exhibitors

The main arena will available to exhibitors at 1:00pm Friday, October 15, 2021. Building 21 will be available for the Boston Terrier Special es only at 7:00 AM on Friday. The building will then be open a er 6:00 PM for Obedience. Dogs must be removed from the show site immediately following Best in Show judging on Sunday. Reserved Recreational Vehicle Parking Registration Form

Parking of recrea onal vehicles (any vehicle occupied by humans overnight) during The Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club, Inc (LJKC) show weekend is a privilege extended by the Douglas County Fairgrounds and the host club. They reserve the right to withdraw this privilege from any person who abuses it. All RV parking will be in designated areas and any RV not registered with LJKC may be towed at owner’s expense.

All RV’s must be parked in an approved space and the space must be le in a clean condi on. Any dumping of gray water or sewage may be subject to a fine. All parking is at your own risk. All x-pen materials MUST be cleaned prior to leaving (sawdust, shavings, etc.).

The fee is $25.00 per night with electrical hookup. There is no fee for parking without electrical hookup. All RV’s will be required to have a reserved parking permit from the club prominently displayed so it is visible to security. All persons staying in RV’s are reminded that the parking area they will occupy is part of the show grounds and subject to all rules and regula ons in accordance with the AKC Rules and Regula ons pertaining to dog shows. There is NO overnight parking Sun-day night.

Reserved parking spaces with electricity are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis determined by pre-registra on, not by arrival. Permits can be picked up from securi-ty before parking or mailed to you if you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your parking request. *******************************************************************************

Master Class Novice Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class - will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. USE OF RAMPS A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a ramp through all levels of competition including Group and Best in Show judging: Lagotto Romagnolo, Retrievers (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling, Spaniels (American Water), Spaniels (English Springer), Spaniels (Field), Spaniels (Welsh Springer), Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, Standard Schnauzers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerry Blue Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Entlebucher Mountain Dog, Finnish Lapphund, Icelandic Sheepdogs, Norwegian Buhund, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, Norrbottenspets (Misc). There will be Puppy, Bred By Exhibitor, & Open Classes for each of the Miscellaneous Breeds in each sex. Winners from these classes will compete for Best of Breed & Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each breed. Each Miscellaneous Best of Breed winner shall be eligible to compete for Best in Miscellaneous Class. All entries for Best in Miscellaneous Class shall be made after judging of the individual Miscellaneous breed classes. In the event that the owner of a dog designated Best of Breed shall not exhibit the dog in the Best of Miscellaneous Class Competition, no other dog of the same breed shall be allowed to compete. There shall be no further competition for dogs entered in the Miscellaneous Class. Ribbons shall conform to Chapter 5, Section 2 of AKC Rules.

Non-Regular (Addi onal) Classes Involving Single Dog Entries The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches

Veteran Class (7 Yrs & Under 10 Yrs) - A Class for Dogs and a Class for Bitches seven (7) years & Under ten (10) years of age. Veteran Class (10 Yrs & Older) - A Class for Dogs and a Class for Bitches ten (10) years & older.

Non-Regular (Addi onal) Classes Involving Mul ple Dog Entries Note: As the judge’s decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Mul ple Dog entries based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. Stud Dog Class - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Compe on, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular classes. The Stud Dog shall be con-sidered as one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the addi onal class fee if the Stud Dog is entered in another class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the dog show rules, AKC policy, or the standard of the breed. Brood Bitch Class - Same as for the Stud Dog except subs tute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and Produce for Get. Brace Class - Two dogs of the same Breed or Variety of Breed with one or more common owner and both dogs must be entered in another class. Please designate each entry making up the Brace on the entry form or in the comment field for online entries. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising each Brace must be so designated, “Brace No. 1”, “Brace No. 2”, etc.

Awards of Merit The Judge may award up to 10% (not rounded) of the total Best of Breed entry for an Award of Merit to recognize the quali es of that entry.

He finished his championship with 2-4 point majors at 9 months old. Barker finished in 1991 as the #5 PWC breed Corgi Winner.1992 as #4 All Breed PWC and #3 PWC breed Corgi winner. 1993 #1 All-Breed PWC and #2 PWC Breed CWC. 1994 Best in Show, Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club; #1 All Breed Corgi; #1 Breed Corgi; #11 Over-all Herding Dog; 1994 Pembroke Welsh Corgi Pedigree Winner; Best of Opposite Sex, Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Georgia; 1995 was re rement year in May. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTER-NATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy. $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in FSS Open Shows. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash-only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb-ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made.

Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/processing fee per entry.

No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor the Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to fur-nish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children. PUBLICATION RIGHTS By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classifica on in this premium list.
