THE UNIVERSITY ltural University established on June 26, 1981 has completed 31 years of its he university has the mandate to impart agricultural education, conduct
improvement of agriculture & allied sectors in different agro-climatic zones and to transfer knowledge based information and technologies to farming for impressed livelihood. Now, it is the first University in the State of start management education in Agribusiness. The University has been he indomitable tribal leader Birsa Munda, he fought against foreign shackles f distinct cultural values and tribal ethos. The campus being away from the le of the city is quiet and peaceful. Environment is conducive for stay and nchi Agricultural College (Presently the Faculty of Agriculture) was 1955-56. The college has 13 departments with 120 faculty members. This

MBA AGRIBUSINESS PROGRAMME This is a new programme being implemented by the University since 2007. The course focuses on creating manpower with domain knowledge of agricultural sciences and the concepts of business management to serve in agriculture, food industry and rural business. The students admitted have excellent exposure to agribusiness management and rural marketing by extensive interaction with the industry. Further, the students will get an opportunity to become professionals with managerial skills, positive attitude and a personality acceptable by industry and related sectors. There is an unprecedented demand of such qualified agribusiness professionals to competently manage the operation and drive the growth in agricultural & allied sector.

WORD FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR It is a pleasure to introduce the Centre for Agribusiness Management of Birsa Agricultural Uninersity, Ranchi.
Indian Agriculture is gradually transforming towards commercialisation, diversifying in favor of high‐value commodities integrating with global markets. But, there is wide spread unrest and distress among farmers as they are not keeping pace with that of non‐agriculture sector.
New opportunities in Indian agriculture are emerging as the sector is transforming. These include (1) realisation of potential of improved technologies (2) growing demand for high value commodities (3) participation of organized retail in value chain (4) microfinance / rural banking (5) emerging export opportunities (6) agriculture insurance.
The challenge before the agribusiness professionals is to accelerate the speed of transition towards commercialization, diversification and globalization, and involve smallholders effectively and genuinely in the process, sharing the benefits with them without compromising with the quality of natural resources.
From Dean’s Desk I welcome you to the field of MBA (Agribusiness) Programme to build India, which can lead the world intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
Centre for Agribusiness Management has been breaking the traditional mould of being limited to imparting education merely with regard to the curriculum. The dedicated and experienced faculties are broadening the horizon of students by surpassing the boundaries and expanding their foresight to grooming young minds, nurturing them with care and guiding them to excel in the area of their potential and choice.
We are not only concentrating on knowledge development, but also on personal and social development. We try to instill values through courses, events and the environment we create.
