DEVELOPMENT OF MY IDEAS

I analysed the opening scenes of three films, which I felt where appealing to my target audience.

• E.T-a family fiIm which my target audience may watch alone, with peers or family. I wanted to make my film more chilling and darker which would appeal to my viewers age group rather than the whole family

• Jurrassic Park- again family orientated but with slightly scarier themes and realistic animatronics, that said dinosaurs don’t exist so I wanted my film to be more realistic

• Saving Private Ryan-a film which my audience would probably be introduced to by their parents by way of educating them on the horrors of war. I preferred to use the notion of suggestion rather than actual scenes of carnage.

MY COMPANY IDEA I will negotiate a deal with a well known company like Universal or Paramount as my film will need a big budget as its has special effects in it. They will be able to fund it and they will see that Sci-fi is a very popular genre that makes a lot of money so why shouldn't ’ they invest in my film. I will release it in the summer as that’s when the big blockbuster usually comes out and when everyone is off school and work, this will give it a better chance of making a big profit.

MY STYLISTIC INFLUENCES I am a huge fan of films so I have many style influences. Steven Spielberg is one of them as he's a fantastic film director, he's brought audiences Dinosaurs, Aliens, huge sharks, true war story's and may more. I really like how most of his films contain strong characters who we all love and feel for. I also admire Michael Bay as I love the way he films action to excite the audience.
