for THEM to read and act? Very tempting I dare say, but what if I tell you that there is a wayof getting that word to THEM in a way that would make THEM listen and act?

PMINZ has partnered with Results Coaching with the support of Momentum Consulting tocreate a soft skills menu of courses which shall be delivered by Cillin Hearns. The coursesshall equip us with those skills that would support our technical skills to influencestakeholders and ultimately achieve successful project delivery by creating amicablerelationships. Details on this offering shall be made available shortly with the first coursestarting early next month. Please feel free contact me, or any member of the Central Branch Champions (akavolunteers), if you have any ideas that you think would make your life, or that of others,easier in your day to day activities related to project delivery. International Womens' Day breakfast

PMINZ Wellington is hosting a breakfast event to celebrate International Womens' Day.

We invite members, their partners, friends and colleagues to join us for breakfast at The

Grand from 7–9am on Thursday 8 March 2018.

The United Nations Women National Committee Aotearoa New Zealand and the Zonta

Club of Wellington is holding a special event at Parliament, hosted by the Minister for

Women, the Honourable Julie-Anne Genter. The theme of this years’ events is "Achieve

gender equality and empower rural women and girls. Together we can empower rural

women in the Pacific."

The Parliament event will be livestreamed to us so that we can see and hear the keynote

speakers – Governor General, the Right Honourable Her Excellency Dame Patsy Reddy,

and the Right Honourable Helen Clark, formerly Administrator of the United Nations Fund

for Development and Prime Minister of New Zealand, in a conversation with Dr Gill Greer,

Chief Executive of the National Council for Women.

Register your place at the breakfast. Places are limited.

At IWD events in 2018, funds are being raised for UN Women projects in Papua New

Guinea. See details of the current project they are supporting – Meri Seif Bus (Safe

Transport for women) in Port Moresby.

CPN information and 2017 successesCertification Preparation Network (CPN) study groups will be operating in Levin andFeilding this year, starting on 7 and 8 February.

The successes of this regional network speak for themselves:

PMI is evaluating chapter members’ satisfaction with the New Zealand Chapter.

New Zealand Chapter members of The Project Management Institute (PMI) should havereceived an invitation email on Friday 2 February asking them to participate in their annualsurvey.

Your feedback will be used by PMI’s Global Chapter Development staff and volunteer teamto support chapters and their local volunteer leadership in order to enhance the value youreceive from the New Zealand Chapter via the programmes, services and networkingopportunities it offers.

Your email invitation contained a unique link to the survey. Please complete survey beforeThursday 22 February 2018 NZ time (or 11:00 PM EST on 21 February 2018 as statedin your email invitation).

Life Flight Open DayPut the Open Day date in your diary and head to the Life Flight Air Rescue Centre inRongotai on Sunday 18 March 2018 for an action-packed day with emergencyservice demonstrations, food, and entertainment. You might even WIN a flight on theWestpac Rescue Helicopter

PMINZ Wellington has been a proud supporter of Life Flight. Last year we donated$142 to Life Flight from donations from the Wellington Branch events held betweenFebruary and April 2017.The collection tin is usually on the bar at our monthly events so that you can popyour donation in, when you have your wallet out.

IT project managers wanted for an interview study

Researchers at Victoria University are inviting IT project managers (with or withoutexperience in globally distributed software development) to participate in this research. The

goal for the interview is to evaluate the integrative process model with respect to itsrelevance, suitability and accessibility to practice.
