    How To Use Professional Numerologist

How To Set OptionsBefore printing any reports or charts, it is recommended that you first set the program options. Click onthe Options menu and then select Reportsto enter your name and address for the 3 report cover pages, the format styles you want to use for each of the 8 parts of a report, and page margins. Click on the

Reset button at any time to return to the default settings. Next, click on Options and Chartto set all thevarious options for Numerologist Chart. If you are not a numerologist, then just use the default settings. Finally, click on Options and Miscto set how you want the letters Y and W to be treated-- either asconsonants, or sometimes as a vowel, sometimes as a consonant. Again, if you are not a numerologist,

    just use the default settings.

There are 6 other settings in the Options menu that also affect how the program operates. Ease of UseMode sets the user interface to Beginner, IntermediateorAdvanced mode. Your selection should bebased on your familiarity with the program. Automatic capitalization of the first letter of each name can betoggled on or off. This allows you to type all names in lower case, speeding up data entry. Automatic (ormanual) determination of Y's and/or W's as vowels or consonants can also be toggled on and off. Thesize of the screen text can be changed to optimize the readability on your particular display. And theToolbar and Status Bar can each be turned on or off, to maximize the screen viewing area.

How To Enter NamesEach report and chart requires the following data: full name given at birth, full name most commonly usedtoday and the date of birth, in addition to the report options you want. The Data Entry for New Reportsdialog box is used to enter this data and is accessed by clicking on the Filemenu, then New Reports. IfBeginner mode is set, then the First Time Instructions and Setupdialog box will appear first; then click onNew Reportsin this dialog box. When entering the birth name and name used today, use the followingrules for determining the correct names to enter.

Use the full name given at birth , including the complete middle name if there is one. This is usually thename as it exactly appears on the birth certificate. If the name on the birth certificate was never used orwas changed shortly after birth, for whatever reason, the name on the birth certificate is still the correct

name to use. The only exceptions: (1) if a clerical error has occurred, use the actual name given at birth,or (2) if the person was adopted within 12 months of birth, use the full adopted nameinstead.

The full name most commonly used today must also be entered. If several different names are used, enter the full name most strongly identified with. That's usually the name used with family and closefriends. Sometimes, if the person has strong career identification, it's the name used in their professionalwork. Only use the middle name (or initial) if they more strongly identify with it than without it.

If a name is hyphenated, enter the name with the hyphen. The program will internally separate the twonames to correctly perform the calculations, but will display the name with the hyphen, just as entered.

If the last name is made of compounds , combine them into one name, placing an underscore characterbetween each compound part. For example:

'Arthur van der Kalen'is entered as 'Arthur van_der_kalen'

The program will now treat the last name as a single name to correctly perform the calculations, but willnot display the underscore characters.

  • 8/10/2019 Pnum Manual

    7/69

    Professional Numerologist 7 of 69

If a compound name contains either a Y or W, then the following are all valid ways to enter the name. This assures that the Y and W are correctly detected as vowels or consonants, if enabled in Misc.Options andAuto Detect is turned on:

    'George DeWitt'can be entered as:

    'George DeWitt' or as,'George De_Witt' or as,'GEORGE DE_WITT' or as,'george de_witt'

but not as 'George Dewitt'or 'GEORGE DEWITT'.

If the name contains a Jr. or Sr. or II, III, etc., following the name, then omit it. For example:

'Henry Ford, Jr.'is entered as 'Henry Ford'

Finally, Matthew Goodwin's system of numerology uses a maximum of four names, as described in hisNumerology: The Complete Guide, volume one. If a person's complete name contains more than fournames, his system uses only the first and last name. Professional Numerologist follows this approach. Ifyou enter more than four names, all the names will be displayed, but only the first and last names will beused for the calculations.

If you want to override this method of calculation, then use the underscore character instead of a spacecharacter to separate the extra middlenames, so effectively there are only four names. For example:

'William Steven David Matthew Crown'can be entered as'William Steven_David Matthew Crown'

How To Enter Foreign NamesForeign alphabets that use the English character set are also supported. For example, the Spanishalphabet contains several double character letters (CH, LL, RR and AE). To correctly enter these letters, surround the two characters with a left and right parenthesis, i.e., enter CH as (CH). The parentheses willnot be displayed, but the two letters will now be correctly treated as a single letter.

How To Enter Birth DatesThe full date of birth must be entered, including the month, day and year. The order in which you enterthese is determined by the Countrysetting in the Windows Control Panel. For example, the USA settingrequires that the month, day and then year be entered. The United Kingdom setting requires that the day, month and then year be entered.

The date can be entered in any of several different formats. For example, 4/20/1960, 4-20-1960, 4 201960 or April 20, 1960, are all valid entries for the USA setting. As you enter part of the date, the full date,as Professional Numerologist interprets it, is displayed in the Status Bar located in the lower left handcorner of the screen. This allows you to confirm that the date you think you are entering is in fact the datethat Professional Numerologist will use.

    Data Entry Shortcut Keys

The following shortcut keys are all available from within the Data Entry for New Reportsdialog box. Touse a shortcut key, press and hold the Ctrl key while pressing the letter key shown.

Ctrl+T Toggles Auto Capitalization, on or off.Ctrl+W Toggles Auto Detect for Y and W, on or off.Ctrl+R When Auto Detect for Y and W is off (manual detection enabled), displays the Y or W

Founddialog box when on an entry that contains a Y and/or W in one of the names. This

allows you to review and/or change the entries you previously made.Ctrl+Shift+T Turns Auto Capitalization off one time and then re-enables it when the Next Person

button is clicked. Use this when entering a name that you know auto capitalization will notcorrectly capitalize.

Selecting Report OptionsIn addition to entering the Personal and Forecast Data in the Data Entry for New Reports dialog box, youmust also select which reports and/or charts you want for that person. For each person that you enterdata for, you can choose to process a Numerology Report and/or a Relationship Report and/or aYearly Report and/or a Numerologist Chart. All reports and charts, except the Relationship Report, require data for only one person. (Note: the Forecast Data fields will only be available if you have chosena report option that requires this data.)

The Relationship Report requires data for two people. When you select the Relationship Report for thefirst person in the relationship, the dialog box title will show, First Person in Relationship. Click the NextPerson button when you are ready to enter the Personal Data for the second person. The dialog box titlewill then change to Second Person in Relationshipand the Relationship Report options for this person willbe grayed out, since this option has already been set while entering data for the first person.

Further more, there are 3 report options and one chart option for the Numerology , RelationshipandYearly Reports. If you do not want any of these reports to be processed for the particular person you areentering data for, select the None option. Otherwise, select the Full Report option to process a full report. For the Numerology and Relationship Reports, a Full Report consists of the personality and progressedportions. For the Yearly Report, this includes the yearly and monthly influences. If you want to processonly the personality or progressions, or the yearly or monthly influences, then select just that option. In

addition to any of these options, you can choose to process the one page summary chart at the sametime, or by itself if you select Nonefor the report option.

Numerologist Charthas only two options: Full Chart or Summary. The Full Chart is three pages longand includes the summary page and the two pages of detailed progressions from birth to age 91. TheSummary option processes just the first page of the full chart, and includes the personality numbers aswell as a summary of the progressions.

    Miscellaneous Data Entry

Data for up to 20 people can be entered. After entering the required data for one person, justclick on the Next Personbutton to enter data for the next individual. When the last person has

been entered, click on the Donebutton to close the dialog box. When entering data for aRelationship Report, make sure you enter data for boththe first and second persons in therelationship.

The Listbutton and any of the VCR buttons can be used to find a particular person toreview or edit. The Listbutton can also be used to quickly review all the names and birth datesentered-- a good way to check for data entry errors before processing the reports.

The names and bi rth date and any notes entered can be saved for future use by clicking onthe Save Namebutton. (Note: when entering notes, press Ctrl-Enter to start a new paragraph.)When you need to retrieve this data, just click on the down arrow in either the birth name or name

used today field and then click on the name you want.

To delete previously entered names, first select that name by clicking on the down arrow fromone of the name fields, and then click on the Delete Namebutton.

Use the New Data button when you are ready to process reports for a new batch of people.Clicking on this button deletes the name and birth date data you previously entered and shouldonly be used after these reports have been displayed, printed or saved and you no longer needthis data.

To access the names of the 5 famous people, click on the down arrow in either the birth nameor name used today field and then click on the name you want.

Working With The Letters Y and WVarious numerologists treat the letters Y and W differently. Some numerologists-- including MatthewGoodwin, author of the Numerology, Relationship and Yearly Reports-- treat the letters Y and Wsometimes as vowels and sometimes as consonants, based on a set of rules. Other numerologists, including Juno Jordan, treat these letters always as consonants. Professional Numerologist allows you todeal with the letters Y and W according to whichever system you work with. If you are not sure how totreat these letters, then use the program default settings. (Note: how these two letters are treated affectsonly the Soul Urge-- the sum of the vowels in the name.)

The default setting treats the letters Y and W sometimes as vowels and sometimes as consonants. Tochange this setting so that either or both of these letters are always considered consonants, click on theOptionsmenu, then Misc and then the Y/W as VowelsTab. Next, uncheck Y is sometimes a vowel andsometimes a consonantand/or W is sometimes a vowel and sometimes a consonant . Now, wheneverthese letters are found in a name, they will always be considered consonants.

When either Y or W are set to sometimes be a vowel and sometimes be a consonant, you can chooseeither to let Professional Numerologist automatically determine how each occurrence of these letters istreated (the default setting), or to manually make the determination yourself. Automatic determination isabout 95+% accurate and is recommended when you are processing a large number of reports. If you aredoing a personal reading, you probably will want 100% accuracy and should use the manual setting.

To manually decide how each Y and/or W is treated, click on the Options menu and thenAuto Detect Yand W to uncheck this menu item (this function is toggled on and off each time it is clicked). TheAVpanel in the Status Bar will become dimmed, indicating automatic determination has been turned off. When manual determination is set, a Y or W Found in Namedialog box will appear for each occurrenceof the letter Y and/or W found in each name, whenever you click on the Doneor Next Personbutton inthe Data Entry for New Reportsdialog box. From the Y or W Found in Namedialog box, decide if eachY or W shown is a vowel or consonant by clicking on either the Vowelor Consonantbutton. The rulesused for making this determination are shown in the dialog box.

The program will prompt you only once to decide how to treat these letters whenever the Name Given AtBirth and the Name Used Todaycontain the same name, and the name is entered into the Name GivenAt Bi rth field first. You can review and change the choices you previously made in the Y or W Found inNamedialog box by pressing Ctrl+R whenever that name is shown in the Data Entry fo r New Report sdialog box. This will redisplay the Y or W Found in Namedialog box for each occurrence of the letters Y

and W, with either the Vowel or Consonant button shown as active, corresponding to your previouschoice. Just click the other button to make a change, or press the Enterkey to accept the choice shown.

How To Create ReportsOnce all the required data has been entered the reports can be sent to either the screen, printer orindividual files. Click on either the Display All, Print Allor Save All button in the Data Entry for NewReportsdialog box if in Beginner or Intermediate mode; or the Filemenu, followed by either Display All,Print Allor Save Allif in Advanced mode. A Select Reports To... dialog box will then be displayed listingall the reports waiting to be processed. You can select all the reports by clicking on the Select Allbutton,

or you can select just some of the reports by clicking on one report and then pressing and holding the Ctrlkey while clicking on all the remaining reports you want to process. Then click on the Selectbutton. Thisis very useful if you need to replace an ink cartridge in the middle of a print run and only want to print theunprinted reports.

When displaying the reports, each report will be displayed in its own full screen window. Either click onthe Window menu and the report you want to see, or click on the View Next Report or View PreviousReport arrow buttons in the Toolbar. This is the same as pressing the Ctrl+F6 (or Ctrl+Shift+F6) keys tocycle through all the reports. Up to 4 reports can be displayed at one time by clicking on Window , andthenArrange Horizon tal ly orArrange Verti cal ly . This allows you to compare the reports or charts formore than one individual. If more than 4 reports have been processed, the other reports can be viewed byfirst clicking in the window you want to update and then clicking on the Window menu and the report youwant to see. This report will replace the one that was already displayed in the window. When viewingmore than one report at a time, decreasing the View Sizein the Optionsmenu can allow you to seemore of each report, reducing the amount of scrolling required.

To close any visible window containing a report or chart (or the Quick Start Instructions), click the Filemenu, and then Closeto close the active window-- or File, Close Allto close all windows at once.

There are two ways to print or save reports to a file. The f irst method is to select Print Allor Save Alltodirectly send the reports to the printer or to the disk. In the case of Save All, the file names areautomatically created based on the type of report and the name of the person. A sequentially increasingthree digit number precedes this name to make it easy to see which reports you just processed. Each

time you save a new set of reports, the first number in the sequence is increased by 2 so that you caneasily see which is the first report in the new group. The other way to print or save reports is to firstdisplay the reports to the screen. Then click on the Filemenu and either Save, Save Asor Printto saveor print the report in the active window. If you have more than one printer connected to your system, theprinter selected in the Print dialog box will become the program's default printer without changing theWindow's system default printer.

If you want to email a report to someone, save the report as a Rich Text File (*.rtf). This file format can beread by almost all Window word processors, including Microsoft Word and retains all of the report'sformatting. If the person has no word processor, Window 's WordPad can be used, but some of theformatting will be lost.

How To Edit ReportsYou can add your own thoughts to an individual report by first displaying the report to the screen. Makesure that Read Onlyin the Editmenu is unchecked (if it is checked, just click it once to uncheck it). Oncethe report is displayed, you can make changes or additions directly to the report by typing them in, byinserting a text file (Edit, Insert File) that you have previously created, or by pasting text (Edit, Paste)from another program. Use the Format menu styles (or the drop down list in the Toolbar) to set theformatting of each new paragraph to match the rest of the report. When using format styles, make surethat the entire paragraph, including the last character, is first selected .

Use Insert Page Break, from the Editmenu, to start a new page. To match the format of the rest of thereport, enter 3 blank lines and text that is formatted as Headingfor the first line or two. When typing aSubhead, followed by Body Text, select the entire text of the Subhead and all blank lines after it (but noneof the Body Text) and click Keep With Nextfrom the Formatmenu to make sure that the Subheadand at

least the first two lines of the Body Textprint on the same page.

If you want to create a set of standard paragraphs that can be inserted into reports, click on the Filemenu, then New Textto open a blank document. Type in the text you want and then format it using thestyles available. This assures that when you insert these files, they are already formatted to match thestyle of the report. When you save this text, save it to the Saved Textfolder, just below the folder whereProfessional Numerologist is installed.

How To Save, Recall and Delete ReportsSaveIf you want to email a report (or chart) to someone or edit the report in your word processor, you will needto save the report to your hard disk.

Method 1: To save a singlereport, first display the report or chart to the screen. If more than one

Window is visible, click anywhere in the Window that contains the report you want to save to make it theactive Window. Next, click on the Filemenu and then either Saveor Save As. If you choose Save, thedefault file name will be used. This is the name shown in the title bar of the active Window. The defaultextension for Rich Text Format (.rtf) will be added to the name (unless you previously saved a file with the.txt extension, in which case the .txt extension will be added), and the file will be saved in the last folderlocation that a file was opened from or saved to. If you choose Save As instead, the Save As dialog boxwill then appear, allowing you to change the file name, the location where the file will be saved and thefile type.

Two file types are supported: Rich Text Format (.rtf) and standard ASCII text (.txt). The Rich Text Formatis the default file type and is preferred for most uses, as it retains all of the report 's format information andcan be edited in Microsoft Word and most other word processors.

Then click on the Selectbutton.

After clicking on either the Select All or Selectbutton, the Save Reports dialog box appears. Select thefolder location and file type (see Method 1 above), but do not enter a file name. The file names willautomatically be created based on the type of report and the name of the person. A sequentiallyincreasing three digit number precedes this name to make it easy to see which reports you just saved. Each time you save a new set of reports, the first number in the sequence is increased by 2 so that youcan easily see which is the first report in the new group. Finally, click on the Save button to save all thereports and charts you selected.

RecallRecalling a previously saved report or chart is easy. Just click on the File menu and then Open. TheOpen Reportdialog box then appears. Choose the folder location to look in, the file type and the actualreport name you want to view. Only one report or chart can be opened at a time, though, multiple reportsand charts can be displayed by repeating this process.

Note:Once the files are deleted, you can still restore these files by using to the Windows Recycle B in .

How To Email Reports and ChartsThere are two different ways to create reports (or charts) that can be emailed to a client, customer orfriend. Method 1 is preferred, if the recipient knows how to open an attachment.

Method 1First, save the report(s) that you want to email. Next, start your email program and create a newmessage. Then attach the saved report file to this message. Your email program's Help should explainhow to attach files. For example, in Microsoft Outlook Express, after opening the New Message dialogbox, click on the Insert menu and then File Attachment to open the Insert Attachment dialog box. Thenlook in the folder where you saved the report and double click on the report file name. Finally, click on theSend button in the Toolbar.

If you save reports in the Rich Text Format (the default file type), then the recipient can open and print thereports from Microsoft Word or almost any other word processor, retaining the report 's format. As long asyou use fonts that are also on the recipient's system, the printed reports wil l look the samewhether printed from your system or t heirs. For this reason, it is recommended that only Times NewRoman and Arial be used when emailing reports because they are included with all versions of Windows,as well as the Mac.

If the recipient does not have a word processor, the reports can still be opened and printed fromWordPad, which is included with Windows 95 and all later versions of Windows. However, the headersand footers will be lost and the page breaks will not occur in optimized locations.

Method 2First, display the report to the screen that you want to email. Then copy the entire text by clicking on theEdit menu and then Select Al l. Click on the Edit menu again and then Copy. Now, start your emailprogram and create a new message. Move the cursor to the location in the body of the message whereyou want to insert the report text and then click on the Editmenu (in your email program) and then Paste. The report will be inserted into the body of the message at the cursor location. Use this method if youthink the recipient does not know how to open an attached file. However, the headers and footers will bemissing.

Important Note on MarginsWhen emailing reports or charts, set the report and chart margins (as set in the Options menu) to belarge enough to work on whatever printers your recipients might be using. Although reports and chartsmay print correctly on your printer, if the recipient's printer requires larger margin settings, their print-outsmay not be the same as yours. Suggested report margin settings for emailing are: top -0.5", bottom -0.6", left and right -1.0". Suggested Numerologist Chart margin settings are: top -0.4", bottom -0.8", left -0.40", and right -0.30". These margin settings assume a 8.5" X 11" paper size.

Important Note for Numerologist ChartBefore processing Numerologist Charts to be emailed, it is recommended that you change the Line DrawCharacter (as set in Options, Chart, Font) to be Dashes and Pluses. If it is set to Special Line DrawCharacters, the recipient will not be able to read the chart, since they will not have the special line draw

font that is required. Make sure to reset the Line Draw Character back to Special Line Draw Charactersonce you are done, if you plan on printing Numerologist Charts on your system.

How To Format ReportsThe text for each Numerology , Relationship and Yearly Report is formatted according to eight (8)predefined styles that correspond to different sections of the report. For each of these styles-- the fontname, size, color, and bold and italic attributes-- can be individually set. In addition, three (3) of thesestyles also allow you to set the paragraph alignment. The eight styles and the section of the report thatthey correspond to are:

Cover Title title of report, including name of person Cover Subtitle time period of report (Yearly Report only)

Cover Text all other text on the cover Headings major titles for each section of report Subheadings minor titles for each section of report Body text all the text following a major or minor title Chart Text all the text on the chart page Footer & Line Color footer text, and top and bottom horizontal lines

Automatic FormatThe above listed styles should be set according to your preference before processing any reports.Changing the styles after a report is processed will not affect that report. Once the styles are defined, allsubsequent reports displayed, printed or saved will reflect the new settings.

To set the format styles, click on the Options menu, Reportsand then the Format Tab. Next, click on

the style you want to change in the Select Format Style to Changelist box and then click on the Changebutton (or just double click the style name) to bring up the Fontdialog box. From this dialog box, selectthe font name, size, color and bold and italic attributes that you want for this particular style. Repeat thisprocess for each of the styles listed. In addition, for the Headings, Subheadings and Body Text styles, you can choose the paragraph alignment by clicking on either Left, Center, Rightor Fullin theParagraph Alignment frame. At any time, you can reset the styles back to their default settings by clickingon the Resetbutton.

Manual FormatYou can also change the style of individually selected paragraphs after a report is displayed to thescreen. This is useful if you are inserting, pasting or typing your own text into the report and want this text

to match the rest of the report's format style. Just highlight the entireparagraph(s) you want to change, making sure that the very first and last characters o f the paragraph are selected.Next, click on theFormat menu and then the format style you want to use for these paragraphs. In addition, individualletters, words or paragraphs can be highlighted and set with the bold, italic or underline attributes fromthe Format menu. The styles also can be set by using the drop down list in the Toolbar.

It is also possible to see the style currently assigned to a paragraph by highlighting at least one characterof the text. The styles drop down list in the Toolbar will then display the style. The Formatmenu will alsohave a check mark next to the assigned style.

When inserted or pasted text consists of headings or subheadings, and body text, the Keep With Nextfunction should be used to make sure that the headings or subheadings print on the same page with atleast two lines of the body text that follows. Select all the text, starting with the first character on the firstline of the heading or subheading, up to butnot including the first character of the body text. Next, clickon the Format menu and then Keep With Next . This function can also be accessed from the Toolbar (thebutton with the K and down arrow). The Toolbar and Formatmenu also show the Keep With Next statusof selected text.

Also, when a new heading is created, either by inserting, pasting or typing it yourself, insert a manualpage break and three (3) blank lines before the heading to maintain the same style used throughout therest of the report. To insert a page break, click on the Editmenu and then Insert Page Break. This willbe shown as a series of horizontal dots across the screen.

Important Note:To be able to edit displayed text, Read Only (the default setting) must be turned off.Click on the Editmenu and then Read Only . This function toggles between on and off each time it isclicked. Read Only is enabled when a check mark is displayed next to it. When there is no check markshown, text can be edited.

How To Format ChartsThe Numerologist Chart uses a single font, Courier New, for the text. Although this font can not bechanged, the font size, color, and bold and italic attributes can be modified. To change any one of thesefont characteristics, click on the Options menu, Chart and then the Font Tab. Next, click on the Fontbutton to open the Fontdialog box and then select the font size, color, and bold or italic attributes youwant to use.

You also can choose one of two ways to create the line draw characters used in the Numerologist Chart. The first and preferred method is to select the Special Line Draw Charactersin the Font Tab. Thisapproach uses a special True Type font to create the various line characters required to make preciselydrawn boxes. The second option, Dashes and Pluses, is recommended when sending a chart in the bodyof an email message or as an attachment. Though the boxes are not as accurately drawn as with theTrue Type font, a special font is not required by the recipient of the chart to be able to view it.

At any time, the above parameters can be set to their default values by clicking on the Resetbutton onthe Font Tab.

    How To Set Margins

ReportsFor every page, other then the cover page, the top, bottom, left and right margins can be set, in additionto the header and footer distances. These settings can be made in either inches or centimeters. Tochange any of these parameters, click on the Options menu, Reportsand then the Page Margins Tab.Use Dialog Help in this dialog box for the precise definitions of these parameters. Use the Resetbutton toset these back to the default values.

The top and bottom margins for each of the report cover pages also can be adjusted. Each report typehas its own settings. These parameters only need to be changed when large font sizes, or fonts withunusually large line spacing are used on the cover page. If the cover page prints on two pages, or thecover text is no longer vertically centered, then these margin settings need to be adjusted. To make the

necessary changes, click on Options , Reportsand then the Cover Margins Tab. Follow the instructionsdisplayed. Basically, though, you optimize the margin settings by making the adjustments in a wordprocessor, such as Microsoft Word and then counting the number of blank lines before the Title (topmargin) and between the last line of the name (or month and year for Yearly Report) and your address(bottom margin). Finally, you enter the counted number of lines into the appropriate fields on the CoverMargins Tab. This may take one or two tries to get it just the way you want it to look when the reports areprinted. (Tip : use the Progressed Only or Years Onlyreport options when making a test print-out, asthese are the shortest reports and will waste the least amount of paper.)

ChartsThe top, bottom, left and right margins can be set, in addition to the footer distance. These settings canbe made in either inches or centimeters. To change any of these parameters, click on the Options menu,Chartand then the Margins Tab. Use Dialog Help for this dialog box for the precise definitions of theseparameters. Use the Resetbutton to set these back to the default values.

How To Insert TextText can be inserted into a report or chart that is displayed on the screen by either inserting a text file orby pasting a block of text from another open program (or from any open window within ProfessionalNumerologist). This is useful if you want to add your own thoughtsand have previously saved some"standard" paragraphs that you want to reuse.

Insert A FileTo insert a text file, either in Rich Text Format (which contains formatting information, such as font name, size, etc.) or standard ASCII text (which contains no format information), click on the Editmenu and thenInsert File. This opens the Insert Filedialog box, where you can choose the location of the file to insert, the file type and the name of the file. Click the Open button to insert the file at the cursor location.

Paste A Block Of TextTo paste a block of text, either in Rich Text Format or standard ASCII text, first select and then copy thattext to the Window's clipboard from whatever program is displaying the text. This can include text fromwithin Professional Numerologist, from either the same window or another window that is open (if thewindow is not visible, first make it visible by clicking on the Window menu and then the desired reportname, and then select and copy the text).

For example, to copy a block of text from within Professional Numerologist, first highlight the text youwant to copy. Then click on the Editmenu and Copy to copy this text to the Window's clipboard. You alsocan use the Copy button on the Toolbar. Other Window's programs work the same way.

Once the text is copied to the clipboard, move the cursor to the location where you want to insert the textand then click on the Editmenu and Pasteto actually insert the text. You can also use the Paste buttonon the Toolbar.

How To Automatically Capitalize NamesThe first letter of each name can be automatically capitalized as you type the name in. By typing all lettersin lower case, this can save time. To enable Auto Capitalization, click on the Options menu and thenAuto Capi tal ize , if it is not already checked. The keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+T, can also be used toaccomplish the same task. Auto Capitalize is a toggle function-- click it once to enable and again todisable. The current state of Auto Capitalize is shown in the Status Bar . When AC is dimmed, autocapitalization is off.

Ease of Use ModeProfessional Numerologist offers 3 different user interface modes: Beginner, Intermediate andAdvanced. When you use Professional Numerologist for the very first time, it starts in Beginner mode. This makes it easier to learn how to use the program by displaying the First Time Instructions and Setup

dialog box each time the program starts, and every time thereafter when you click on the Filemenu andthen New Reports.

Once you are experienced using the program and know how to enter data and display and print reports, itis recommended that you switch to Intermediatemode. This bypasses the initial, First Time Instructionsand Setup dialog box and takes you directly to the Data Entry for New Reportsdialog box.

If you have previously used version 4 of Professional Numerologist, you may be more comfortable usingtheAdvanced mode, which works the same way the earlier version did. Experiment with the differentmodes and use the one you feel most comfortable with.

The dialog box sequence, and how to start the sequence, for each mode are shown below:
