•You need software

•A computer

•A microphone (most of the laptops available in the school, even the old ones have one incorporated).

•The easiest way to do a podcast is utilizing “Audacity”. (There are other programs, such as “Garage Band” in the MAC’s, and even through the use of telephones, we can create podcasts)

•It is a free software available on the web

•The school has audacity in every computer

Go into “Start” and click in all programs

Go up until you find “Imaging and Media”

The first program you are going to find is “AUDACITY” - double click on it.

To start recording, click on the red bottom and the yellow one to stop .

To listen to your audio, press the rewind bottom, and press play (green arrow)

That’s it… you can now save it as an MP3 file and will be ready to be posted in your favorite Web Site.

Book Talks

Is a brief overview of a book intended to increase the interest of potential readers. You can describe a key moment from the book without revealing too much, so students will want to read the book. (NJCCC S 3.1-3.2-3.3-3.4)Literature Circles

Cooperative discussion groups can be an enriching and rewarding way for students to interact with literature and each other. Recording these discussions as podcasts could give students the opportunity to do comparisons finding similarities or patterns. (NJCCC S 3.1-3.2-3.3-3.4)Process Drama

Helps develop imagination, builds voice in writers, creates authentic experiences, and helps students see the world from multiple perspectives. As a result a Podcasting is transform into an authentic audience and a real world connection. (NJCCCS 3.1-3.2-3.3-3.4)

Students can record specifically projects such as germination of plants or moon faces and share their own podcast with a group of peers to discuss or exchange opinions. Investigating an ecosystem or recording notes about an specific trip. (NJCCCS 5.4 -5.5-5.8-5.9-5.10)

Art Critiques

Students can record their own points of view or interpretation about different type of art, such as color, form and style. They could listen and make podcasts about museums walks or tours.(NJCCCS 1.3-1.4-1.5)

Historical Audio Diaries

Students who are studying history can write or record journals. Choosing different History Characters when doing journals could result in a variety of perspectives and unforgettable opportunities to remember history. (NJCCCS 6.3-6.4)

World Language Classes
