BENEFITS OF THE KELLER POINTE MEMBERSHIP

Registering as a member of The Pointe is the best way to take advantage of all The Pointe has to offer. Members have access to all fi tness equipment, the running/walking track, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, locker room facilities, and towel service.

DEFINITION OF A FAMILYA Family Member includes anyone who lives in the same household and may be claimed as a depen-dent.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPSYour annual membership is good for one year from the date of purchase. As an Annual Member, you will receive all of the wonderful benefi ts mentioned earlier. This is the most economical way to take advantage of all The Pointe has to offer.

Annual Fee - Non-refundable For individuals choosing to purchase an annual pass by paying for one year in full, the membership is non-refundable with the exception of the 30-day Opt Out Period.30-day Opt Out PeriodAll annual members have 30 days from the date of purchase to request an annual fee refund. One month, at the monthly rate, and a $60.00 service charge will be deducted from the annual fee refund amount.Annual Fee Transfers Individual or family annual members may transfer the pass to another individual or family. If the individual or family receiving the annual pass is a non-resident, the receiving party will be required to pay the difference between the resident annual pass fee and the non-resident annual fee. If a non-resident annual member is transferring their annual pass to a resident of the City of Keller, there is no refund for the price difference.

ANNUAL FEES

MEDICAL FREEZEIn the event of a medical condition that prevents you from utilizing The Pointe, members may freeze their annual membership for $10/month by providing a doctor’s statement. Once a doctor’s release is obtained to return to the facility, the membership will be reactivated for the length of time it was frozen. (If patron has a family membership and elects to freeze the membership, the entire family will be frozen.) Medical freezes must take place within 30 days of the medical condition arising. Expired memberships are not eligible for medical freeze. We also offer other account freezes. See our service desk for eligibility requirements.

DAILY ADMISSIONIf you choose not to become a member of The Pointe, you may still enjoy the amenities of this great facility by paying the Daily Admission. The Daily Admission allows you entrance to the fi tness center, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, gymnasium, track, and locker rooms.

DAILY GUEST PASS

PROOF OF RESIDENCYIn order to confi rm City of Keller residency for a Pointe membership, present your driver’s license and com-plete a membership application. A customer service representative will assist with an ID card and payment. A membership card will not be issued without a valid driver’s license as proof of residency. Proof of resi-dency is required at renewal.

While working out or taking a class, check in at the Customer Service Desk, check your children into the Stay ’N Play room where they can enjoy a wide variety of entertainment. Children, ages six months through nine years, can stay for a maximum of two hours at a cost of $2 per visit, per child. Punch passes are also available purchase for $30, good for 20 visits. Parents/guardians may not leave the building or outdoor pool while their child/children are in Stay-n-Play. For policies, please inquire at the Customer Service Desk.

MONTH TO MONTH MEMBERSHIPSWith a month to month membership, The Keller Pointe will automatically debit payments from your bank account, MasterCard or Visa. Your Pointe membership and monthly payments will automatically continue until you notify us in writing that you wish to discontinue your membership. A $60 service fee is due when you register for your month to month membership.

30-day Written Notice For those individuals choosing the monthly payment option, a 30-day written notice is required to discontinue the monthly payments. The $60 service fee is non-refundable. A service fee of $20 per returned payment may apply.

BEAR CREEK ROOMSAvailabilityBear Creek Rooms are available for rental from 5:00 am to 1:00 am. (Note: The building closes at 10:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00pm Friday, 8:00 pm Saturday, and 6:00 pm Sunday after which extended hour fees will apply). The deposit and half the rental must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the rental.

DepositsA deposit of $100 is required on facility rentals, along with the completion of The Keller Pointe Facility Reservation contract and payment. The deposit will be refunded if the area used has been left in good order and all conditions of the contract have been met. An additional $150 deposit for alcohol consumption is required, along with the cost and scheduling of a Keller police offi cer on site. A Keller police offi cer is also required for any after hours teen events. All rentals are a minimum of two hours.

Extended Hours FeeAn extended hours fee of $15.00 per hour will apply to all facility rentals extending past the regular building operating hours.

Cancellation Policy A written cancellation notice signed by the applicant must be received at least thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled event in order for user to receive a full refund minus a $25 service charge. A forfeiture of the reservation fee will result if a user fails to provide a 30 day written cancellation notice.

The Keller PointeParty packages include use of the party room for one hour for ten guests and ten invitations. Ice Cream cakes from Carvel may be ordered for an additional $10.00. There is a $25 re-scheduling fee after party has been booked. Parties may not be re-scheduled fi ve days out and will not be refunded.Islander Pool Party:Features: Decorated cake, punch, ice cream, pool party assistant, choice of party favors, and use of indoor pool.Cost: $165.00 for fi rst ten guests, $7 for each additional guest of a Member or $12 for each additional guest of a Non-Member.

Using LEGO’s Simple and Motorized Mechanisms Set, campers will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines and study gearing mechanisms with this core brick set. Campers will also investigate the principles of simple machines, mechanisms & structures. They will also experiment with balanced and unbalanced forces, friction, measure distance, time, speed, weight and much more.

March Madness Tipoff The opening round of the 2011 NCAA Basketball Tournament will be shown in the Bear Creek Rooms for basketball enthusiasts. From the opening tip-off to buzzer beaters, 4th – 6th graders won’t miss a thing. Throughout the day, participants will be able to compete in a variety of basketball contests. Dribble knockout, free-throw contest, relays and more will all be part of the action. Tip-off for this event is 10:30 am and the horn will sound at 4:00 pm. Early Release: Field Trip BonanzaInstead of going home when school releases early, go on a fi eld trip with your friends. Students in 5th and 6th grade will have the opportunity to do just that with The Keller Pointe’s Field Trip Bonanza. Students will meet at The Keller Pointe after school releases early and then jump on a bus to their destination. The bus is scheduled to leave at 1:00 PM. After each fi eld trip returns to The Pointe, students will play games until 5:00 PM.

Teen Recreation Advisory CommitteeWe are looking for you! Teens are important to the community and no one knows teens like other teens. You could have a say in what programs, events and opportunities are offered by becoming a member of The Keller Pointe TRAC.

Youth Volleyball LeagueAges: 8 to 13 This recreation league is perfect if you are just learning the game of volleyball, or need to perfect your skills as you get ready to try out for your local school team. Fun and learning are emphasized over competition in this league. Participants will be split into two age groups; 8-10 & 11-13. Teams will have one practice a week and games will be played on Saturdays. The 8 to 10 year old division will practice either Monday, Wednesday or Friday evenings and the 11 to 13 year old divisions will practice either Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evenings. Volunteer coaches will be needed for each team.

Aquatics American Red Cross Waterpark Lifeguard Certifi cationWant to be a lifeguard through the American Red Cross? This class teaches all lifeguarding skills and how to respond to and prevent emergency situations. Certifi cation includes: Waterpark Lifeguarding/First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards, Preventing Disease Transmission, and Administering Emergency Oxygen. ATTENDANCE AT ALL SESSIONS IS MANDATORY.

T’ai Chi ClassesT’ai Chi will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. and cost $20 for 4 weeks. T’ai Chi is an ancient Chinese art that provides a gentle way to exercise, stretch, breathe and relax. The Sun style T’ai Chi to be taught is especially formulated for persons with Arthritis. No special equipment is needed, just loose clothing and fl at-bottomed shoes.

Computer ClassesAre you interested in learning how to use a computer? New Computer Classes start at the Senior Activities Center each month. The classes are $5 to those over age 55. The classes are four weeks long and run from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Classes offered include New Users, Intermediate, and Internet. We are now teaching Offi ce 2007 and Windows 7. Class space is limited and reservations are necessary. Call 817-743-4370 for more details.

Blood Pressure ChecksKeller Fire/Rescue provides free blood pressure checks at 11:00 a.m. on the fi rst Friday of each month. No reservations are needed.

AARP Drivers SafetyEvery other month, the KSAC hosts the AARP Drivers Safety class taught by AARP volunteers. The 4.5 hour class is open to persons aged 50 and older. Cost is $14 for non AARP members and $12 for AARP members. Completing this class may save you 10% on your auto insurance for the next three years. The class is 12:30-5:00 p.m. one Monday every other month. Call the KSAC at (817) 743-4370 to register. Space is Limited.

NETS Transports You!The Northeast Transportation Service

(NETS) offers door-to-door transportation services to residents who are disabled or 55 years of age or older. Trained drivers

are available to assist passengers in getting on and off the vehicles. To schedule your trip, call 817-336-8714. The NETS fare is $1.50 per one-way trip. Trip types are prioritized by 1-medical, 2-work, 3-social

service, 4-senior center, 5-education, 6-shopping, and 7-other.

Daily Lunch ProgramEach day at noon a nutritional lunch is served. Suggested donation for persons 60 and over is $2.00. Persons under 60 are asked to pay $5.00. Reservations should be phoned into (817) 743-4370 by 12:00pm the previous day. Stop by the KSAC if you would like to see a monthly menu.

Fit & FabThis is a low impact workout designed specifi cally with seniors in mind, exercises will be performed in a chair & standing to improve agility, balance, coordination, & activities for daily living. We will incorporate free weights & elastic tubing with handles for added resistance to work all major muscle groups & increase muscular strength & range of movement. A short meditation will compliment the end of your workout. Water bottle & proper shoes are mandatory. No open toe or backless shoes will be permitted.

Registration InformationClass LocationsThe location for all classes, activities, programs, and events are at The Keller Pointe unless otherwise noted.

Where to registerParticipants may register for all classes, activities, programs, and events online or at The Keller Pointe during operational hours.

Registration DeadlineParticipants are encouraged to register for classes as early as possible. Registration deadline is Friday before class begins (unless otherwise noted). Go online to www.thekellerpointe.com to register.

Makeup PolicyIf it is necessary to cancel a class because of inclement weather, The Keller Pointe Customer Service staff will notify all participants at least one hour before class is scheduled to begin when possible. You may call The Keller Pointe at 817.743.4FUN. If a swim lesson is cancelled, The Keller Pointe aquatic staff will contact you within 24 hours to reschedule. Any group class missed will not be made up.

Class Refund or Transfer PolicyWhen a class is cancelled due to low enrollment or other circumstances, you will be offered a transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Participant initiated refunds and transfers will only be granted when a participant: a) submits a transfer or refund request at least 5 days prior to the starting date of the course; b) moves from the area and notifi es The Keller Pointe at least 5 business days prior to the course start date; or c) becomes ill, in which case a doctor’s statement must be presented upon request. If a refund/transfer is not requested to be applied to Keller Pointe merchandise or program within 90 days, the refund/transfer will be forfeited.

Safety ProcedureIn order to keep our facility safe, any patron possessing a weapon, or object determined by The Keller Pointe staff to pose a potential threat to persons or property, will be denied admission and/or required to leave the premises without refund. The Keller Pointe staff may at any point contact the Keller Police Department to assist in the enforcement of this procedure.

Gift CardsThe Pointe Gift Cards may be purchased for any amount, and may be used toward program registration, membership, concessions, personal training, guest admissions, rentals and Pointe merchandise. Gift Cards are available at the Service Desk.

A Word To Parents...The Keller Pointe staff strives to maintain the highest standards in emergency training. Our goal is to provide patrons with a safe and clean atmosphere in which families can enjoy themselves in a recreational environment. The purpose of the staff is not to supervise your child, but to prevent accidents from happening. Therefore, parents are expected to closely supervise their children and assist in enforcing the facility’s policies for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. All children, ages nine years and under, must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a paying adult (at least 16 years or older).

City of Keller’s ADA PolicyIf you plan to attend any classes, workshops, or special events and have a disability that requires special assistance, please contact the ADA Coordinator 48 hours

in advance, at 817-743-4041, and reasonable accommodations will be made to assist you in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The Hearing Impaired may contact the ADA Coordinator through Texas Relay at 1-800-735-2989.

Photography PolicyPhotographs are occasionally taken of participants and are used to promote our City Parks and Recreation Programs. If you prefer that you or your child not be photographed, please notify the photographer.

Inclement Weather PolicyLightning poses a serious risk of injury in our aquatic facilities, including the indoor facilities. Due to the seriousness of this issue, the following inclement weather policy applies for all aquatic facilities: When lightning occurs, the pools will be closed. If the lightning and inclement weather continues for more than thirty minutes, the pools will remain closed and The Keller Pointe staff will attempt to reopen the pools later in the day. This policy is in effect until one hour prior to the facility’s offi cial closing time.

Aquatic TrainingPlease be advised that The Keller Pointe lifeguards take part in active training during operating hours. In the event that there is a training exercise, the aquatic staff will notify all patrons.

A non-refundable user fee of $25.00 is required for all pavilion rentals. (Note: The pavilion in The Parks at Town Center is only available from two weeks following Labor Day through two weeks prior to Memorial Day.)

Keller Multi-Use ArenaThe 120’ x 350’ outdoor multi-use arena is available for practice and event rentals. A non-refundable rental fee of $15.00/three hours is required for all practice reservations. A non-refundable rental fee of $200.00 per day, or $100.00 for less than six hour events, is required for all arena event rentals. An additional $100.00 per day security deposit is also required for all arena event rentals. Lights and tractor fees are additional.
