Course description

The content of this course is deliberatley descriptive and follows a very clear chronology. The programme retracesthe beginnnings of organization management from the end of the XIXth century to today. The course thus analyzesthe main theories, reasearch and managerial progress made during the development of companies.

This module is divided into three main themes :

• The foundations of organization management (traditional approach and school of human relations);• The concept of organizational structure using, for example, the works of Mintzberg which highlight the oppor-

tunities and constraints in terms of design, coordination and layout of a company;• Organizational behavior with the notions of performance, diversity, conflict, negotiation, stress...

This is a basic course in the domain of management. Students can obtain a global overview of company manage-ment and thus understand the ins and outs.

Course description

This course will introduce students to practical Computational Fluid Dynamics, as it is frequently used in industryor in academic research in engineering fields.

The framework of the teaching takes place only through Practical Sessions, using computers and softwares.

The main application topics will focus on heat transfer and fluid flow in academic configurations but related toengineering problems, and on the thermodynamics of energetic systems.

As introductions of each parts, there is

• a presentation of the studied software• the general organisation of a numerical tool devoted to the study of energetic systems

Course description

The course gives a broad picture of the development of the energy system in the EU and in France. An assessmentof new energy technologies and systems (renewable energy, district heating systems, …), that can be used tomitigate negative environmental impacts is also offered.

The course is based on real problems combining technical, environmental and economic parameters. Aims areto understand how energy policy instruments affect energy system investment decisions, and to understand theinteraction between energy conversion technology, environmental impact and economic performance.

Economic and technical basis (cost-efficiency analysis, and investment analysis) are given for the developmentof energy efficiency projects, and renewable energy projects.

Course description

This course is devoted to sustainable energy and its intermittency. It is divided into two parts. The first part allowsstudents to apply theoretical concepts seen during their studies on real systems they are likely to encounter duringtheir professional life. 5 systems are studied during practical classes : solar thermal energy, solar photovoltaic, geothermal heat pump, absorption chillers and cogeneration.

The second part concerns energy storage. It covers the basic concepts of heat storage for buildings, industry andelectricity production. This course explains the energy storage principle for electricity and heat, the interest ofsuch systems and their integration. It mainly focuses on the dimensioning of heat storage in the framework ofbuildings, energy and environmental processes.
