Dale SilvesterAn exploration into the sense of touch and the various forms in which we process tactile information, communicate emotions and physically experience objects and surfaces. Visualised in an artists book, a set of anatomical screen prints and an interactive infographic.

Karen eleaven‘Seaside Memories’ an artist book originated from my collection of people’s seaside holiday memories. Each outcome explores different elements of the British seaside. The pieces work individually and as a collective body to communicate the natural experiences of the seaside. It is aimed at people with a love for artist’s books and a particular interest in nature or the seaside.

Bo Sun LamI love to mix my print work with colourful water based media to communicate my emotions. One of my main artistic infl uences is Hong Kong illustrator Pei Chung. I enjoy experimenting with unusual materials and I am very fond of ‘coffee art’ and Malaysian coffee artist Hong Yi is another infl uence. I enjoy visiting art exhibitions to see new ideas and materials.

Paige Alexis Jones A representation of the point after death, matter starts to decompose and disintegrate, leaving a shell of what once was. The silkscreen prints are a representation of both the starting point and the end point of decay whist still being recognisable as the organism it once was, simultaneously working together in a single image.

Jona an Sco Driving from my own personal experiences in Thailand as well as 6 months of cultural and historical research, the book covers and explores how a culturally signifi cant event can be observed and interpreted by a foreigner. An artist book ‘Thailand’s wheel of crisis’ is designed to compliment and juxtapose ‘Farang’, by talking about the same event and subject but by using an aesthetic that contrasts to Farang.

Cai in CroninA body of work focusing on the beauty of the natural world, particularly exploring the beautiful patterns created in vegetables. Solutions including three artist’s books, acting as visual identifi cation journals for three different types of vegetables; winter squash, edible mushrooms and chilli peppers. Along with the books is a set of prints that further illustrate the beauty of the vegetable form.

Christopher EsselAn experimental surface pattern project looking at the most memorable things from the nineties. Visualised on fabric, paper and print, each image connects the viewer to sentiment and nostalgia of a by gone era.

ona SimpsonSeven images serve as a starting point to look into common character tropes and settings found within the Gothic literary genre. These are presented in the form of personalised tarot cards. The classic tarot cards each have their own individual meanings. When the cards are selected and presented in a certain way they dictate the fates of those who have placed them.

Emily eemanMy project looks at the relationship between movement of dance and illustration; my challenge was to produce work that illustrates my passion for dance using two dimension materials. I hope dancers will form a relationship to my work, understanding the motion portrayed in my prints, and book; and the enjoyment of dance celebrated in my video.

Vernon de LimaIn a world surrounded by patterns, do we walk by and take things for granted? For this project I have looked into patterns and how symmetry is used to make something more appealing to look at. My aim is to have a series of prints that showcases symmetrical patterns on 12 different animals.

Tomi RussellThe purpose of this series is to make people question the way that they see social disorders. It is intended to give people an opportunity to see this behaviour how they would without it being labelled. This is done with the intention of drawing attention to the possibility of over diagnosis and over medication of social disorders in children and young adults.

James PriceA narrative about the human race starting from the beginning of mankind spanning to the future and to our potential demise. It is a series of seven fi ne art pieces cataloguing our urbanisation of the planet whilst slowly destroying it and ourselves. Human’s self destructive nature and fragility are the key themes explored.

Meredi PhippsMy work is heavily infl uenced by my research into the counterculture of the sixties and especially the protests that happened during the time. A lot of art and music were made to make people think about the movements that were happening, like Bob Dylan’s Hurricane and the protest posters created for the 1968 student and workers’ riots in France.

Jasmine BirchA two part project on nettles, the fi rst being two paintings showing a micro-macro look towards nettles, and an artist recipe book depicting an alternative use for this versatile plant. The use of strong vivid greens and bold brush strokes was important to creating these pieces, this allowed the nettles’ sting to create an impact.

Bhavisha VadgamaWhen one thinks of fairy tales, our immediate preconceptions force us to think of princes, princesses, castles, palaces, love and wealth. One of the key foundations to any fairy tale narrative is its architecture. It is not just the physical aesthetic of how the structure looks that makes it important, it is inside these structures, where key events took place and iconic quotes were spoken.

Yada SubhadhiraA series of small paper masks collected into shadow boxes in the form of skulls. Larger masks of human features represent ‘life’, the transformation of life to death. The idea is to show that death is not the end but the beginning.

Rozelle HawesAn exploration into the smallest part of the universe, visualised in a collection of pieces that include an artist book, zines and magazine spreads. Each of the outcomes uses elements of hand drawn type that illustrate the structure of atoms.

Oliver Tubb‘Conditions of Connectivity’ explores the role of major world religions within a sociological context.

Initially investigating the psychological signifi cance of religion on a personal level, the project quickly expanded. It progressed onto the development of faith within a single society, such as Great Britain, prior to analysing it’s global infl uence.
