Expectations Posters are displayed throughout the school…
School Pledge The school pledge is recited daily at 7:35 with
the announcements. Along with a thought of the day which is character based.
Ward Stewart School Pledge I pledge to do my best for my school. I pledge to be myself, to follow, my dreams,
to be a good friend. I pledge to be respectful, to be responsible, to
be safe, and to be caring. I can make a difference, I promise to try.
The Good Deeds (School Wide Behavior Incentive)
Option 1: Each child will have a “Good Deed”
punch card with their name on it.
The Good Deed Chart is visible in the classroom to be a visual reminder for the students of how they are doing during the week.
Good Deeds Option 2: Good Deed Behavior Chart (Teachers circle the four
expectations each day for each students. Each expectation is worth one point.)
Students who meet the weekly goal are rewarded by the counselors with a small prize on Friday.
Behavior Bashes Students who earn the required number of
Good Deeds will be eligible to attend the Behavior Bash held each nine weeks.
Jacket Wall of Fame (Individual Incentive) Each 9 weeks teachers select a student who
exemplifies certain character traits. The 4 Bees are the character traits (1st 9 weeks- “respectful”;
2nd 9 weeks “responsible”; 3rd 9 weeks “safe”; 4th 9 weeks “caring”)
Teachers are given a form in their box and an e-mail reminder when the selections are due.
The student receiving the character award will appear in the newspaper and have their picture displayed in the Jacket Wall of Fame (at the front entrance).

Buzz (Class Incentive) Buzzes are a school wide behavior incentive that
students earn as a class. All teachers are encouraged to reward buzzes to
other classes. (Some teachers make it part of their classroom job to assign a student to search for “buzz worthy” classes in the hallway)
Teachers are responsible for rewarding their students when they reach their buzz goal.
When a class reaches their goal, teachers return the buzzes to the buzz box located by the teacher mailboxes.

Golden Spoon Administrators reward classes with a golden
spoon when they demonstrate excellent cafeteria behavior and follow the cafeteria procedures.
The class with the most spoons will be recognized regularly and will be rewarded each month.

Faculty Cheer Faculty Members have the opportunity to cheer each other on by filling out a cheer slip. The slips are returned to the megaphone in the office. Then the principal reads the slips at faculty meetings.
PBIS Sub-Committees •Celebration Team-plans golden spoon and behavior
celebrations.
•Data Team- Meets monthly to discuss office discipline
referral data. Data is shared with faculty three times a year.
Teacher Lunches Once a month PTA monitors the cafeteria, so
teachers can enjoy lunches with other teachers. The PBIS committee organizes take out lunches
from popular restaurants to be delivered to the school.
PTA: Hard Work Cafe Each 9 weeks PTA will reward honor roll
students with a party, assembly, etc.
