Positive Coaching
Ridgewood High School’s own band director,
John Luckenbill, has been awarded the Positive
Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coach Award
for his work with his students and creating
positive and character-building youth sports
experiences.
He is one of fifty national recipients of the na-
tional non-profit organization’s award, which is
presented to coaches who strive to win while
also pursuing the more important goal of
teaching life lessons through sports.
Luckenbill has taught at Ridgewood and di-
rected the marching band for five years. A
graduate of Michigan State University, he is
now finishing his Master's in Music Education.

homework and 60% text while working.

New Players Present: Brigadoon
This year the New Players Company is showing
their Scottish side in their presentation of the
musical show, Brigadoon, directed by Jennifer
Landa. The show is currently running through
the weekend and features performances by
many talented students.

The New Players perform Brigadoon in the Little
Theater. The story follows two American travelers
visiting Scotland that stumble upon a mystical and
magical village known as Brigadoon.
John Luckenbill leads his marching band members
during a parade and as a positive coach.
Ridgewood’s Lindsey Staneck was honored by being
named a 2016 Aide to the Grand Marshal of the
Bergen County Saint Patrick's Day.

Members of the Ridgewood High School Dance Company,
Hennessy Sheehan, Claire Andrews, and Sara Vaccaro pose

Jersey Choral Society in their Gershwin Program. Timothy Monahan poses with Christian Seremetis, Samantha Con-

their visit to the Federal Reserve Bank. The RHS AP Economics class
traveled to New York to participate in the Federal Challenge and
to present monetary policy recommendations alongside economic
forecasts. This year’s team will advance to the Final Four, beating out
schools from all over New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

A Window Into Ridgewood High School Sponsor a Global Student through RHS Global Learning
Ridgewood’s Global Learning Classroom is asking for a donation
of $125 to sponsor one of the visiting students that will stay here
in Ridgewood during the GLC Conference in June.
The GLC club is responsible for raising the money for this confer-
ence, and that is why they created the “Sponsor an Ambassador”
program.
For this one-time donation, you will receive personal information
about your student as well as an invitation to both the opening
and closing ceremonies where you will get the opportunity to
meet the student and see presentations from the visiting coun-
tries.
