This course concerns issues relating to second and foreign language teaching and learning. It focuses on different approaches to teaching and how tofacilitate learning for the students, as well as the teacher students self development through the use of the European Language Portfolio and theEuropean Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages (EPOSTL). The student's own development project also take up a very large part of the course.
No costs except semester registration fee and syllabus literature. The student is expected to have appropriate computer, web cam and headset. Costsrelated to travel and board for seminar in Bodø has to be covered by the student.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:Demonstrate knowledge of how to construct and undertake language lessons that facilitate language learning.Understand the basic principles of modern foreign language didactics and the different theories about language learning.Understand the value and necessity of evaluation for learning and be able to use the European Language Portfolio.Make strategic decisions in order to create language lessons that consist of good language learning activities.Know how to work continuously with basic skills (understood as literacy and numeracy) in foreign language classes.
The course is part of PPU and open to those admitted to PPU.
Distance learning as well as two seminars in Bodø
