Filtration is accomplished when parti-cles are trapped by the stainless-steelscreen. Partial blockage causes a pressuredifferential between the filter inlet and out-let, activating the self-clean mechanismwhen the differential reaches four psi.

During the cleaning operation, a hydrau-lic valve automatically opens while revolv-ing brushes dislodge the particles trappedon the screen. They are flushed out throughthe open valve for 15 seconds without dis-rupting the continuous water flow throughthe filter.
