On either the CD or USB stik:– Open up the file– You will see 3 folders– Click the first folder

Accessing the filesWhen you see the icon you want to open, single click on that sub-folder and the full name of the folder will appear.

Using Chapter 14 as an example, you will see the full name of that chapter, going from

Finding Information• Some chapters or files are very large• To quickly find a piece of information in a

“pdf” file, do the following:– Click on Edit

– On the dropdown, click Find– Type in the word or phrase you want to search for– Eg, “noise”, press Enter

– Use the forward or backward icons to find the next occurrence of the word


Finding Information• Using the Edit / Find you can quickly scan

the entire document in minutes rather than hours

• Use alternate words or phrases, eg:– Replace “noise” with “sound”, or– Replace “road” with “track” or “access”

• When you have found something of interest to you, Highlight the section, Copy & Paste it into the template or a separate Word document

• There is a box at the end of the template which you must sign

• You can email the (saved) document to the email address shown in that box


Other Important facts

• If you don’t have a computer, you can simply handwrite your submission

• You can put in a submission even if it has just one issue or concern

• All submissions must be received by Parsons Brinckerhoff by close of business, 15th May, 2009
