Technology neutral approach is also under discussion.Not to have exclusive bands identified for 4GU.S., Australia, U.K. and Canada are now supporting it.New identification for 4G will be examined by means of spectrum requirements estimation of WP8F

In Feb. 2005 WP 8F meeting, it was proposed to revise ITU-R Vision Rec. with IP-based BWA (WiBro-like) as a new Beyond 3G Technology.

Market need for high-speed data is a driving force.In parallel with 3G evolution, IP-based broadband wireless access (BWA) such as IEEE 802.16e is rapidly evolving.In view of new technology toward 4G, U.S., Canada, Australia Israel and Korea support this Vision Rec. revision.

There will be an effort from next Quebec WP 8F meeting to reflect the new BWA business/technology concept into ITU-R 4G Vision Rec. through APT Wireless Forum.
