Presentation on Osman Hamdi Bey and Quentin Blake
Work on Osman Hamdi Bey and Turkish culture:
-Turtles with liquid glue and chalk pastels.- Turtles with oil pastels and watercolours.-Turtles with volume / nuts-Henna hands -Camels and magic carpet.-Mosques
First, we drew turtles with liquid glue
Next, we coloured it in with chalk pastels.
Then, we smudged the chalk pastels and made gradations on the blue colour of the sea.
Here you go!
We also drew turtles with oil pastels and…
we coloured the background with watercolours.
We also made some turtles with volume: we stuffed rubbish bags with paper, we …
put on “paper maché” and we painted it with white
In order to fix better the final colours.
The little ones made some turtles with nuts and yoghurts.
and they also decorated a turtle with their photographs inside.
Related to Turkish culture, we worked on Henna designs on the hands
First, the kids traced their hands on a black cardboard
then, we looked at some desings of Henna hands,
and did them with a metallic pen.
and here you go the results!
We made some camels with brown cardboard and oil
pastels
We also combined oil pastels for the camels and
markers for the carpet.
On the background, we designed a “magic carpet”, also with oil pastels.
We also represented mosques.
We used metallic paint and foil for the domes.
So, we made a “Turkish corner” in the hall of the school.
And…of course we made the puzzle of the Hamdi´s Bey picture!
