OVERVIEW OF REPORT STUDIO

Report Studio is an web based application inCognos ReportNet, which is used to create

reports as per company requirements and whichwill be used for company growth by analyzing thedata.

Brief on Value Prompts

Its a type of prompt which retrieves the databased on the requirement of the user when

selected from a list.

This control will display the list of values fromwhich user can select the value and retrieve thedesired report.

HANDS ON STEP 1

Report Studio is select from the Cognosconnection and the package is selected forwhich reports has to be generated.

Select List report from the option to create NewList report.

HANDS ON STEP 2

From the Insertable Source tab select the Dealerstable. Drag and drop the Dealer, Address, City

and State into the List.

Group the Dealer and Address table in the list.

From the Insertable objects Toolbox select theValue prompt and drop it into the work space theValue prompt wizard will appear.

Name the Parameter and click next.

HANDS ON STEP 4

Select the package item in create filter page andclick ok and click next.

Select values to display in the report page promptin Populate control and click Finish to close thewizard.

HANDS ON STEP 5

In the Insertable pane double click the PromptButton which is shown in STEP-3 and the resultwill as shown in the picture below.

This Prompt Button will submits the items weselect and regenerates the report

When you run the report the page below isobtained, select the Dealer from the list.
