The true story of an anti-Catholic, married couple, studying to be evangelical pastors who find themselves joining the Catholic Church. The last thing they expected or wanted but the Holy Spirit showed them the Truth in Sacred Scripture. It was an agonizing journey which cost them many old friends and caused strife in their marriage and family.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FAMILY CORNER: Fully Alive and Building the Domestic Church

NOVEMBER — THE COMMUNION OF SAINTS Holiness does not consist in carrying out extraordinary tasks, but being united with Christ in living his mysteries, in making our own his example, his thoughts and his behavior. God wants to make each of us a saint! How can we live holiness in our family? Share this family Meditation on Page 45 of The Family Fully Alive. Books are available in the back of the church.

ST. MARY — Just a reminder — Due to the increase in price of candles, the Altar & Rosary Society has had to raise the donation of each candle.

7 Day Tall Devotional is now $3.00

8 Hour Small Votive is now 50 cents

• I have again volunteered ST. MARK’S to participate in the annual Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign in Winchester. I have signed us up to ring on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Dollar General Store in Winchester. The hours will be 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM again this year. This is a wonderful chance to help our fellow citizens who are in need this holiday season and throughout the year. I will have a sign up sheet in the back of the church for those who wish to assist in this project. May God bless each of you and thank you on behalf of those in need and the Winchester Ministerial Association who sponsors this project each year.

• ST. MARK’S Church is going to have 12-Hour Eucharistic Adoration on First Fridays starting December 3, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 8 PM and following on the First Friday of each month, if we have enough interest. This is a wonderful devotion that is a long established practice within the Church for centuries. The time spent with the Holy Eucharist is a healing time for each of us and a spiritual recharge for the soul. It is a great time for meditation, which the quiet time is so peaceful and relaxing for those participating. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at 8:00 AM and remain exposed for veneration until 8:00 PM at which time we will have benediction before the Blessed Sacrament is returned to the tabernacle. It is important that the Blessed Sacrament is never alone during this time or this will not be possible for us to foster this devotion to the Eucharist. To that end, I will have a sign up sheet in the Church for each hour that the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and there should always be two people for each hour. I will ask when you sign up that you include a phone number that is a good number to contact you in that way if someone or yourself is unable in the future to take their hour you will be able to contact others to fill your spot on that day. This ancient practice of the Church is a wonderful experience for all us, as I know I always enjoy my silent time with the Lord. During this time, anyone will be able to come into the Church for a few minutes or how ever long they wish to remain throughout this time. I pray that we have a good response so that we can begin this wonderful practice at ST. MARK’S. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. ~~ Deacon Kim
