PRAYER FOCUS - AUGUST 19, 2018 To activate the Prayer Chain, call Ruth Wiebe: 306-931-2982 1. Missionary Focus: Pray for Abe Giesbrecht, EMMC Mission Director: "Testimonies from students @ the Hacienda Verde school: 'My desire is to finish school and go on to university to study medicine....' 'I am very thankful for our teachers because they teach us the word of God....' 'I am thankful for people from other countries who pray for us and also help with money and other things.' 'My favourite subject is mathematics. My goal is to finish college and go to university to study to become a teacher.' The goal of education is to encourage and challenge young people to be all God has created them to be. From these testimonies it is evident that these students have 'caught it'. The comments are taken from short notes written to you, the people who pray and provide the funding for the ministry of MEM in Bolivia. Thanks to supporters these students and their 60 or so classmates at Colegio Brillantein Hacienda Verde are being given opportunities. Most of these children began their lives in difficult situations as part of a family in a conservative colony in Bolivia." Note from our Council: We have recently completed some revisions to our church constitution & bylaws. As members, you need to be made aware of these changes, and after one year, a vote can be held on whether to adopt them or not. The major changes are as follows: 1) Updating the language and format of our statement of faith. 2) Separating our church constitution from the church bylaws. 3) Updating the language in the document and the structures and processes within our church. The last revision was done in 1990, so some of our boards & committees have changed, etc. To save paper, we'd like to email you a copy of the proposed constitution. Please contact the office in order to receive that. Paper copies can will be made available upon request. Contact office or any council member with questions.

Kadesh News: We are down to our very final week of camp for summer: Senior Teen. While many of these campers have been to camp many times there is lots of opportunity to influence them to live their lives for Jesus. Please pray that this last week would be influential in this way. There are 2 options for fall staffing: 1) Event by event, come work for a few days helping to facilitate school groups. Key first dates that are coming up are Sept 10-14 and the later Sept/early Oct; 2) Join our team for at least Sept & Oct and be involved in all aspects for programming. There is also an option for it to continue further into the fall, which would including housing. If you know someone that is looking for work this fall let us know. Staffing is primarily for doing programming, but we also need kitchen staff as well. Contact Chris Oldham ([email protected] or 306-940-6301) for more information.

Activity sheets & colouring pages

are available on the back table for use during

the service.
