CareMonkey is here: Dear Parents, As you know we take the health and safety of our students very seriously at Sacred Heart. Last newsletter I wrote about our commitment to the Kidsmatter Framework. As such we are adopting a new health and safety application (app) named CareMonkey. CareMonkey is an innovative parent controlled electronic medical form for schools, clubs and other groups with a duty of care. It’s an electronic version of the paper based forms you’re always having to fill in for excursions, camps, enrolments, etc. It provides parents with the opportunity to update medical information promptly and accurately while providing the school with instant access to the emergency information provided by you. We will be using the CareMonkey app in the best interest of the children whilst also reducing the burden on parents to fill out the same information on multiple forms throughout the year. It will also make communication between home and school more effective. Parents can use a PC, laptop, iPad, tablet or smart phone to enter the details including:

emergency contacts

medical contacts

medical checklist including asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes

health and ambulance insurance details

notes and other care instructions from parents

As a parent you will receive an email from the CareMonkey system inviting you to enter the details for your child in an electronic medical form. To ensure your privacy the information provided will only be accessible by the relevant staff for your child. However, if you choose, you will also be able to share this information with anyone else you trust with your child's care – your child’s grandparents, child-minder, sports club, cubs-scouts etc. You don’t need to do anything until you receive the email requesting the information. There will be one primary carer’s email address associated with each child. The first email requesting you to enter your child’s details will be sent out on Monday 16 June from the office@shoakleigh.catholic.edu.au email address. You will automatically be sent additional reminders on a regular basis until the care profiles are complete. Once the care profile is complete, the emails will stop. Please feel free to contact the school office, Jan Morice or myself if you have any questions. You can also visit the CareMonkey website for more information: www.caremonkey.com I look forward to using this new product as one way of streamlining the communication process between home and school. ENROLMENTS FOR 2015 Enrolments for 2015 close at the end of June. The next school tour will be on 18 June from 9.15am to 10.15am. If you know of any interested families please let them know. Enrolment meetings are required for all new enrolments, including siblings. A letter has been sent to parents of children who have submitted an application for enrolment, with information on how to book a meeting with Brian Martin on the website www.schoolinterviews.com.au All families, both new and with children currently attending our school, are required to meet with Brian about the enrolment of their child at Sacred Heart. GRAINNE DOHERTY

We wish Grainne Doherty all the very best for her marriage to Jamie on their return to Ireland. Grainne will finish employment this week and we thank her for being a wonderful teacher and staff member. The Sacred Heart School community greatly appreciates her contribution to the education of our students. We will also miss her kind, cheerful nature and her wonderful singing ability!!!!

BROOKE DAVIS - WELCOME We welcome Brooke Davis, who commenced her induction into the school this week and will teach 3/4G from Monday 16 June. I am sure all parents, staff and students will make Brooke feel part of our school community.

INAUGURAL CHRIST OUR HOLY REDEEMER AND SACRED HEART ANNUAL GET TOGETHER On Wednesday 25th June, Sacred Heart Primary School will be hosting Christ Our Holy Redeemer Primary School for our inaugural annual get together. We will come together for Mass, followed by activities and a sausage sizzle. As we are both part of the combined Oakleigh Parishes it’s a great idea for us to get to know one another. Many of our children may already have friends at COHR who they met at kindergarten, sport or attending Mass. Our children will be able to catch up with old friends, renew friendships and make new friendships.

R (Relationship) Day CatholicCare Marriage Enrichment Program Saturday 14 June Relax, Renew, Recall, Romance, Revisit, Revitalize, Rejuvenate and Rejoice! This one day workshop for couples is based on the 7 Principles of a Sound Relationship House developed by relationship expert Dr John Gottman. During the workshop you will explore ideas for deepening connection, friendship and intimacy in your relationship. There is no group sharing. Couples and a priest present the weekend.
