Timing, Strategy and Mindset

• Smart hard work: Material and work directed and specific to SAT preparation

• Setting up a feedback loop: Keeping an error log and coming back to mistakes to learn from them so that the same mistakes are not committed again

• Working in time blocks: Practicing in a timed environment so that the student is aware that she is running against a clock

• Test taking strategies: Keeping time consuming questions for later, pacing yourself

• Test day strategies : Visiting the test center the day before the exam, taking the breaks and planning what to do during the breaks

• We encourage our students to actually write down words and their meanings instead of trying to learn them in their minds

• We will Identify new words in passages and sentences instead of memorizing new words

• Contextual recognition is a great tactic and will be taught as a strategy to understand word meanings

• The hard part is how the SAT tries to trick students with questions: the wording or the unorthodox, unusual ways of asking questions, perhaps, or confusing illustrations.

• We teach students to read the questions well and summarize the problem using their own expressions or figures, to decode the problems clearly – then, the questions can be solved applying techniques they’ve already learned.

• We train students to have the right attitude to face their fears and practice so that they ace the SAT!

Reading difficulties and SolutionsProblems: • Losing your place in the passage • Losing focus • Forgetting what you read

Solution: Premier Genie’s Mind Map method: Taking notes graphically for information flow

After every proctored test,• The students’ results will be scored and

delivered• Students’ mistakes on the test will be

discussed • Improvements will be suggested both

in terms of content and strategy. • Each student will be given an

individual feedback report after each exam about how the student faired in the test and what the areas of improvement are

Our Goal

At Premier Genie, we continually look to improve our students’ performance. We want to work long term with your school, training students on campus and delivering the best quality training for the SAT. Given the opportunity, we will take student competence to new highs making them not only comfortable with the syllabus but also training them in strategies to ace the exam without getting nervous. We look forward to working with you.
