• FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY SINGAPOREAN STUDENTS 2018– The Ministry of Education (MOE) provides financial assistance

to needy Singaporean students in Government and Government Aided schools.

– Parents/Guardians who wish to apply for MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) could request for the application form from the School General Office.

– All application forms are to be duly signed and submitted together with copies of all relevant documents to the School’s General Office by 10 November 2017, Friday.

A. Preparing for Primary School

• Find out about school from the school website – inform child

• Talk about the new routines - flag-raising/lowering, recess, assembly, school bus drop-off and pick-up points, timetable, and wearing of school uniform.

• Practise practical skills - asking for permission, buying food, organising school bag and communication between school and parents.

• Get child excited about new experiences, such as making new friends, learning new things or playing in a big school.

• Parents/Guardians who send their child to school in their vehicles are to let their child alight at the back gate of the school.– Not allowed to drive into the school

ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY

• Daily attendance is compulsory. Truancy will be dealt with severely.

• Punctuality must be observed for school and school-organized activities. Disciplinary action will be taken against latecomers.

• Students are expected to assemble by 7.30 a.m.Students who arrive in school after 7.30 a.m. will be considered late for school.

• Consequences of frequent late-coming

GENERAL APPEARANCE

• Students should be neat and tidy at all times.

• Spectacles should be plain and non-fanciful.

• Nails must be kept short and clean. Nail polish is not allowed.

• Gel, mousse, fanciful styling and/or tinting of hair are not allowed.

• Girls’ hair must be above base of collar or neatly tied up.

• Only plain dark blue or black ribbons, rubber bands and hair clips should be used by girls on their heads.

• Boys’ hair should be short and neat.

• Girls may wear simple and plain gold, silver or light coloured ear studs. Earrings and multiple ear studs are strictly not allowed in school.

• All religious ornaments (pendants, bracelets, etc.), if worn, should not be visible to the others.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Students must bring a clean working thermometer to school daily.

• Students who are unwell should not come to school. They should see a doctor and rest at home.

• Students are advised to maintain high standards of personal hygiene at all times.
