This article will go over how to send prescriptions for Xylitol Rinse and Magic Mouthwash.

Xylitol Rinse

If entering just xylitol rinse, the proper thing to choose is "licodaine 2% mucous membrane solution(topical)".

Magic Mouthwash

To prescribe Magic Mouthwash, follow the steps below:

On the Prescription Writer window, click on the blue ’wrench’ icon

Under "Search By", select Supplies

Note: This is considered a supply and will not populate under anything but the supply search parameter.

Enter the following Supplies:

Viscous lidocaine 2%: 150 mLDiphenhydramine 12.5 mg/5 mL: 20 mLHydrocortisone (Solu-Cortef): 100 mgTetracycline or Doxycycline: 2 gNystatin suspension: 20 mL

Directions: Swish and expectorate 15 to 30 mL every 4 to 6 hours

Enter Xylitol in the Drug field and 2 options will show: Xylitol Powder and Xylitol Powder NF-NationalFormulary.

Note: Please save the prescription to (all) prescriber(s) favorite list if prescribed frequently.

Once ’Drug’ is selected, change the search by to "All Drugs" that way when the RX Writer opens againits still under "All Drugs."
