In addition to the capital thatflows between immigrants and
their home countries, how can in-
formation flow assist those who
stay in the place of origin? What
lessons can the proximity withother immigrant groups provide?
What kind of public space could
help the contemporary immigrant
enclave in a first world cityfunction as an active contributor
of knowledge in the U.S. and to
its homeland?

MUNTADASOn Translation
The initial plan for
ON TRANSLATION - THE INTERNET PROJECT
was to create a chain of translators from
different countries and languages willing
to be participants.
Communication systems provide the possibility of developing better understanding between people: in which language?
El sistema de transmitir las intenciones hace posible el entendimiento mejorado entre los pueblos. Pero, el problema esqu idioma utilizamos?
A certain means of research could raise the standard of international activity through the medium of communication. The particular problem, which I have in mind, is the inaccessibility to a rapid system of mutual education.
Precision can become more anchored on an internationallevel by seeking out useful mediums that are impor tant solelyfor the sake of help. The essence of the problem depends upon the search for the correct answers to commonquestions. It will only be possible after improved research. Both sides will prosper when they guide themselves by thisprinciple.

HARRELL FLETCHERCorentines Turtle
I decided to ask people what kind of sculpture they would like ifthey could choose [in park in Brittany, France]. I asked a variety ofpeople, most of whom were stumped by the question, but severalpeople did have ideas. I asked them to make a drawing of their
proposed sculpture and to include information on the materialthey would like to use and the dimensions.
An 8-year-old boy proposed a green turtle made of gold.
The boy, with Fletchers guidance, made drawings and models ofthe turtle. Together, they selected a spot for the turtle.
