Additional Academic Preparation / Certifications:

English Language Course from reputable institution.Accounting Software, Peach Tree / Tally / SAP Course.Certificate Course, Admin / Secretarial /Office work.Engineers must have AutoCAD 2D & 3D Certification.Doctors should have P.G.D in any relevant subject.Bankers and Management fellows must have M.B.A Degree either in Finance or Human Resources.

Proper Documents Attestation:At least 1 Degree of Under-Graduation / Graduation / Masters must be got attested from the concerned Country Consulate.Steps:-Education Department Govt. of Sindh, Tughlaq House Karachi.Ministry of Foreign Affairs Govt. of Pakistan, Near F.T.C Bldg. Karachi.Higher Education Commission (HEC) verification of Certificates / Degrees, through OCS, Defense Extension, Karachi, against fixed charges of Rs.800/- plus service fee.Concerned Countrys Consulate General (U A E if Dubai) about US$50/- per Certificate plus Service Fee through Fed Ex, Bahria -4 Bldg,Gizri Road.V. Final Attestation at the time of Visa issuance in the concerned Countrys Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( as required by the Employer).NOTE: Non-Management cadre Inter / Diploma / B.A / B.Com and for Management cadre M.A /M.Com /M.B.B.S / B.E Degrees / Certificates are to be got attested in the same way.

Resume / Curriculum Vitae Resumes /CVs can be made in so many forms Block & Tabular forms are most familiar as per international standard. It should be free of spelling mistakes. Visit Visa, Ticket & Pocket Money Arrangement:

There are chances of fake visit visas if the same are arranged through street agents.Its safe and secure to get Visit Visa & Ticket from the Airlines of the respective countries. Visit Visa can also be arranged through your friends residing in that country you intend to depart for job purpose.Visa can be of 30 & 90 days with different Fees, however, airlines arrange these visas in a package (Visit Visa, Return Ticket & 3 days stay at any Hotel).Visit Visa is Valid for 60 days to get the entry into the desired Country.Return Ticket in case of Visit Visa is Mandatory for every one.In case of Employment Visa only One way ticket is required.Booking of ticket 10-15 days before the departure can be fruitful with regard to the fare.In case Visit Visa is of 30 days you will have to leave that country at least 24 hrs before , failing which the passenger will pay a fine for the overstay @ the prescribed rate.For the visitors at least US$1000/- as pocket money is necessary for daily expenses.At Airports while Exit or Entry pocket money can be questioned / asked.Keep your Original Visa, PP & pocket money safe and secure while starting your journey.

Overseas Contacts / Links / Relatives / Friends:

Its very important to make a record of Overseas Contacts.Write down all Links' you have in the desired Country.Write down Phone Nos., Addresses of relatives / friends residing at your destination country.Make a proper record of your friends working overseas in the Country where you desire to go.It will be imperative if you communicate all your Overseas Contacts, Links, Relatives & Friends well before your departure to the country of your choice.While reaching at the airport of that country contact one of your relatives or friends mentioning your arrival and standing place.

Personal Baggage:

Brief Case of 18x26 for Baggage is required normally.Avoid to get sealed goods from others which can be DG goods.If any type of DG goods found at the both ends can cause humiliation in shape of Imprisonment.4-6 Pairs of your clothes including Pants & Shirts, 1 Towel, socks, briefs, Neck Ties, Tooth Paste , Brush & Soaps only.Keep all your required Original Documents safely in the bag.Any Liquid or powder shaped thing is not allowed in hand bag.Your baggage weight should not exceed to the allocated weight in the ticket, otherwise will have to pay excess weight charges.Before boarding the Plane read carefully the Gate No. and seat No. at the Boarding Card and wait for seating the Aero plane, dont go a sleep to loose your Flight, which will over burden you for a fresh ticket.

Review of Documents at Overseas:

On arrival at the destination Country have review of all the original documents and make many sets of photo copies for submission. There are many whole sale shops making copies.Re-visit your c.v and insert cell # of that country at the top.Get your Degree attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the destination Country costing equivalent toUS$50/-.Scan your color PP photo page, Degree both sides & one Photo Graph with white Background and send all into your inbox.Further, consult any experienced person in your contact there.

Temporary Overseas Accommodation:

As the living cost in GCC Countries is at very high side, therefore temporary accommodation has great importance.To minimize the accommodation expenses a temporary arrangement with any relative or a friend is necessary. Accommodation must be at the central point of the job searching City or Area with easy transport access.Mostly bed space accommodations with mess are very easily available on reasonable charges.Use your own Razor, Detergent, Soap, Towel, Comb, Mattress, Bed Sheet etc, to be prevented from possible skin diseases.Do not make use of Alcohol or any other drug in or outside.

There are Public & Private sectors for job search.Getting job in Public sector is difficult as compared to Private sector.More than 80% jobs in Public Sector are mandatorily given to the Citizens /Nationals as a policy, only 20% jobs go to Expatriates. Most effective mode is direct Employer.Contact Employers / Third Parties through their provided Phones , Faxes & E-mails while forwarding CV or Resumes.

Friends / Relatives / Contacts can also play pivotal role in getting you a suitable job.Through references and contacts your Resume / CV can be forwarded for Interview Call.Your location problems and interview difficulties can be solved through references / Contacts.Day to day vacancies / jobs in all sectors can also be updated through references / contacts.References / Contacts may also provide you tips and tactics of job interviews.Your references / contacts can play a role of introducer with any company for job.Some times references and contacts misguide you and ask to pay amounts for job.Companies / Firms / Institutions offer Jobs with free Residence Visa facility.Always keep in touch with your time tested and credible references / contacts regularly.Do not over expect from references and contacts, rely on your own target oriented efforts.

Job Hunting Drill / Procedure:

BY DOOR TO DOOR SEARCH:It is an effective mode of job search, where every one appears in person, while dropping CV should be in a proper dress code (Pent Shirt Neck Tie, Jacket, Socks & Shoes).As per international standards every company maintains its reception desk for all communications including HR sourcing, which will be the first appearance for the job seeker. Your personality, behavior, body language and communication skills will be judged there.Knock the door and enter into the targeted office, say Good Morning / Good Afternoon to the Receptionist and explain your purpose of coming ( I am searching for a job / seeking a job / looking for a job). If I can meet manager HR or submit my c.v here.Some times a brief discussion may take place while submitting your c.v, you will have to be relevant and precise while responding to their questions and do not forget getting Business card of that person or Company.Try to drop more and more CVs, only 5% will be responded, but you will have a good confidence level through inter-personal communication.Some of the companies held primary interview on spot at the time of your CV drop, if they deem fit they will call for further interview / discussion.Door to Door search of job will make you alert and confident in terms of proper job search.

Financial &Time Management:

Financial Management is most important at overseas.Do not make purchases before getting job, use Metro Train/Bus while moving / travelling for job hunting and avoid using Taxi/Metro Cab.Make your documents / C.V transcript from whole sale shops there.Avoid hotelling frequently if do have arrangement at the residence.Do not involve in Lending / Borrowing with others during job hunting.You will be helpless in case of financial shortcomings.Only come close to your references, give full time to your job hunting.Get up early in the morning and leave the home before 7:00 AM.Make daily time schedule of your appointments & meetings.Use your evening time after 7:00 PM for meeting with your contacts getting prior appointments, to avoid wastage of own and their time.Avoid loafing here and there in late hours as a safe side.Divide your 6 days time from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM for job hunting targets and review your time management every week.

Interview Preparation & Dressing Code:

Keep in mind (write properly on paper)Companys name, position applied, date, time, location & contact number OR get print of interview call if through E-mail.Keep your Original documents & one transcript set of all documents as required, copy of PP, Visa & 4-8 photographs (white back ground) in a plastic or a zipped leather folder.Go through all contents of CV and correct the discrepancies if any and make its hard copy. Get through the details of company on website and know about the companys working.Understand properly your Job description given for the position applied.Clear motivation with regard to the role which is offered to be played in the company.Consult any of your reference / contact regarding preparation of the Interview.Get online assistance for interview tips of preparation on Google search also.Analyze your weaknesses and strengths with regards to your personality and behavior.Commit yourself to be, to the point and concise during your interview questions.Dress Code is important at the time of interview ( Pent, Shirt, Tie, Jacket, Socks & Shoes).Proper combination of dress is important (Dark Color Pent with light color shirt and matching Tie either with Shirt or Pent, vise versa and black polished shoe with matching Socks either with Pent or Shirt / Jacket, Two piece suit will make a difference.Hairs must be cut and dressed before appearing for interview.Either clean shave or properly shaved and perfumed at the time of interview.

Conduction of Job Interview:

Review / check all documents / papers required and revise all possible questions to be asked in interview.Reach 15 minutes before time at the place / location of the interview in complete dress code.Meet the receptionist saying Good morning / Good afternoon and get listed for the call.Be fresh, wait for your turn with confidence and do not show signs of unrest and uneasy at all.Take 3 deep breaths before entering into the Interview Room, knock the door move inside, say may I come in, following Good morning sir, be seated when asked. Do not feel any pressure, be easy and relaxed.Interview committee will be attentive towards you upon your seating and will start questions one by one.Possible questions may be asked:Please defined yourself? /Tell us about you (Brief about your Qualification, Skills, Experience & Expertise in nut-shell).What you will do for us if selected? / Why we should select you? (I will be more beneficial for the company due to my uniqueness academically, experience-wise and expertise in the particular field).One Question on subject. (Your response should be relevant from the particular asked subject).Other miscellaneous questions may be asked regarding, visa, accommodation & joining time of duty ( your reply should be, Visit Visa tell them its validity, name the city & area, immediate joining).What is your salary / package expectation? ( Reply, what ever may be the company policy for the offered position or as per market trends), some times they offer a certain amount 5k or 6k, (so, ask them for formal offer letter).They will invite you to ask any question. ( Ask about, Office timing, weekly holidays, Visa & Contract Period, Accommodation facility, Life & Medical Insurance, Annual Leave with salary, Annual Air Ticket, Bonus etc).In the end they will shake hand say wish you all the best. Ask them that when I should receive the formal offer letter?.

Note: While coming out of the interview room, warmly greet with the receptionist and other staff, because they will always be helpful and cooperative to you all along. Also note that there can be Preliminary, Secondary & Final Interview as the position may be.

Offer Letter / Letter of Intent / Appointment Letter:

Companies / firms / organizations often issue letter of intent to the successful candidates after 48 hrs.

Letter of intent in duplicate would be given to the selected candidate to read, understand and sign the both letters. One letter will be retained by the candidate upon acceptance and one for company record.

This letter should contain the terms of the employment including, Position, Contract period, Resumption date, Salary, Trial period, Probation period, Accommodation, Transport, Medical Insurance, Annual Leave with salary, Annual Air Ticket etc.

On resumption of your duties formally, company will provide space / table, PC, Stationery etc.

Company is responsible to provide training facility either inside or outside if deems necessary.

Some times companies keep the employees on trial period of one month to see the performance.

Upon satisfaction company gets PP scan and Photographs and copies of other documents for Employment Visa / Work Permit purpose.

Employment Visa / Employment Agreement:

Employment Visa is issued some time in 15 days or some time takes 45 days, which depends on the nature of company category and the zone where it situates.Attested Graduation Degree is needed in all Officer / Managerial positions of Employment.Diploma / Intermediate attested certificates are required in Clerical / Technical positions.Some times Offer letter is annexed with for onward submission of document for Visa.Upon completion of visit visa allocated time every one has to exit from the country or pay the prescribed amount as charges for in & out then exit condition will be void. It depends on the employers , whether they suggest the employee to exit or not.Employment Agreement is made between the Employer and Employee covering all the terms and conditions of employment as per legal requirement of the Government.Employment Agreement is made in Triplicate (One each for Employee, Employer & Government).Employment Agreement must be read very carefully and get amended if needed before signatures for onward submission. Must get one duly signed and authenticated copy of agreement for own record. This visa will be valid for 60 days to make entry in the country of employment.After Entry this work permit will be valid for 60 days to get stamped on the Passport as a residence visa.In case of non-compliance of the provisions of this Employment agreement both the parties (Employer / Employee) shall have right to cancel this agreement with mutual understanding before stamping of visa on the Passport or within the probation period.

International CNIC / Protector / Insurance / Ticket:

International CNIC is issued by NADRA on the basis of original CNIC & Employment Visa.Time from 10-15 days will take for issuance of ICNIC by the NADRA.ICNIC charges may be around 3000-3500 rupees if is made on urgent basis.Protector from Ministry of Interior (Overseas Employees Foundation) is mandatory. Original Visa & Passport are to be presented before the Authorities for protector purpose.Without Protector FIA will not allow any one to proceed abroad for employment purpose.Protector fee and other charges may be around 7000-8000 rupees, if submitted in person.Insurance is the part and parcel of Protector, which is being done by State Life Insurance, on the advise of Overseas Employees Pakistan Foundation (OPF) and OPF membership is given.In case of death of overseas employee, compensation is paid to the legal heirs of the OPF member through the concerned countrys Pakistan Embassy.In case of Employment one side ticket is to be made for departure only.This ticket must be booked 15 days before the departure to avoid from over rates.Date, time and Flight name & number must be kept into mind one day before the departure.Keep your all above documents safe and secure in handy bag or in the pocket of your Jacket.

Medical / N.ID / Bataqa Or Employment Card:

With in 60 days of your Entry in the Foreign Country of Job, obligatorily under go Medical as prescribed by that Countrys Laws, which will be conducted by the Employer at their cost.

In case of failure in medical fitness, subject to the infectious diseases like Hepatitis, HIV, TB etc., employee will be returned back to his parent Country forthwith.

In order to prevent from the loses one comprehensive medical test must be carried out before going abroad, so that treatment for the same can be got.

After Medical fitness, National Identity Card of the of job Country is mandatory to get.

Simultaneously Bataqa or Employment Card is being processed for daily use.

All these steps are being finished by the Employer at their own cost.

Final Employment Agreement / Visa Stamping on PP:

Upon completion of NID and Medical process, Employment visa is stamped on Passport.

This stamping process is submitted in Immigration Department of Ministry of Interior.

The urgent visa stamping is done on the same day with handy delivery at double cost , where as normal stamping will be delivered by post within 7-10 working days at regular charges.

Ultimate / final agreement would be received with Bataqa / Labour / Employment Card.

This agreement is useable as a legal document in case of any dispute with the Employer.

All disputes are resolved at Labour / Immigration / Authority levels what ever the position may be.

Once visa stamped on the PP, Employer may keep the original Passport with them and issue only Employment Card / Labour Card & National ID to the Employee as safe side, if otherwise.

Job Trial / Probation / Confirmation Period:

Some Employers include One month trial period in the Offer Letter to assess the performance of the Employee before issuing Employment Visa, which will be 2 or 3 years period.After successful completion of trial period Employer will process the papers for Visa.Every Employer mention Probation Period in the Offer Letter(4-6 months), this will facilitate both Employer and Employee to whether they continue their contract or not.In case of Non- Executive Cadre 6 months band on the change of employment is imposed by the government. However, Managerial cadres can change their employment on the production of NOC from the employer(in case of Free zone companies).After completion of Probation period the Employer Confirms the services of the Employee.At the confirmation of services the Employee will entitle all the benefits mentioned in the Offer Letter and Final Employment Agreement.Upon confirmation of service the Employee will be under obligation to abide by all the instructions / policies / rules / regulations of the Company as imposed from time to time.In case of breach / violation / contravention of policies & regulations the Employer has right to initiate any stern disciplinary action against the Employee including termination / dismissal from the services with or without any notice.

General Principles Upon Hunting a Job:Upon getting Job, you have become the Resident of the Country, as such all rules / regulations / laws are binding on you and also you can avail & enjoy every Training (Educational, Driving) & Financial( Bank A/c, Personal Loan & Credit Card) facility as per Countrys laws.Do not violet any law by travelling, talking, walking, eating, drinking, meeting, dealing & behaving, which will cause your apprehension for any illegal act and be punished.Do not misbehave your Boss, Seniors and Colleagues, be punctual, submissive, cooperative, kind and professional.Do not share your personal weaknesses and organizational secrets even with your office fellows at work place.Keep in touch with your immediate boss with regards to any working problems at office.Do not feel hesitate to learn from your Juniors / Seniors while in the office.Try to engage your self in office work while at the office and do not talk on irrelevant topics.Avoid to participate in ethnic, religious & political debates, do concentrate on assignments.Do not participate in the gatherings where un-healthy talks and activities are practiced. Make your friend circle where you can groom more with regards to your career building.Avoid wasting time on visiting clubs, racecourses and Casino, which will ruin you morally , economically and socially .
