Since 1895, three generations of winegrowers from Rivesaltes have worked the vines in the samespirit of careful craftsmanship. For 20 years, the 220-hectare Cazes estate has been fully biodynamic.A real pioneer, and seen as a driving force in the world of French wine, the Cazes approach is basedon achieving total harmony between grape varieties, climate, fauna and flora, the soil and thoseworking it.Cazes remains an historical reference with its natural sweet wines served today in some of theworld's top restaurants. The Cazes estate also produces great wines from some of Roussillon's mostexceptional terroirs, including Maury, Latour de France or the renowned Les Clos de Paulilles estate,a superb 90-hectare property in the Collioure appellation.Cazes offers lucky visitors the utmost in friendly hospitality with its charming guesthouse, boutiquesand two restaurants: ""Table d'Aimé"" at Rivesaltes and ""Les Pieds dans l'Eau"" at Les Clos dePaulilles."

About the Domaine Cazes

Page 6: Press release - AdVini · Growing Practices. The Estate’s wines have been officially recognised as organic wines since it obtained the. OrganicAgriculture Certification in 2016

When we launched our Biodynamic experiment on 15 hectares in 1997, we set ourselves animportant challenge", Bernard Cazes."The first vintage was difficult, but our instinct told us to continue down this path" and in the thirdyear, we saw the first signs of new life in the soil, which had become softer, darker and easier towork. This is a considerable advantage in a region often handicapped by drought”.

"Life has been fully restored to our soil. A vine that feels good in the ground has a much greaterresistance to external attacks”. Emmanuel Cazes. The conversion to Biodynamic growing has clearly resulted in the production of high-quality grapes.Previously the soils were compacted and the water remained on the surface. Since life has returned, the vine is drawing its nourishment from deep in the soil and the grapes are reaching maturity earlierand earlier.Natural treatments, herbal teas, and preparations such as horn dung (preparation 500) and hornsilica (preparation 501), go through a “dynamizer” to transfer the active ingredients to the waterbefore the treatments are applied according to the lunar cycle.

Natural grass cover combined with oat, barley, rye, vetch or mustard cover crops also affects thequality of the earth, allowing oxygen to circulate deep within the soil and creating a habitat for fungi, earthworms, insects and small mammals. Biodynamics aims to create an environment that is inharmony with the vine’s ecosystem and for this reason we set up 250 nesting boxes in the middle ofthe vineyards. The bat and bird populations that come to shelter or nest here are particularly usefulfor the protection of the vines as they feed on the insects that are harmful to them. The numbers ofmating Rollers (migratory birds) have multiplied eightfold in just six years.

The increased life within the ecosystem, combined with the vine’s improved rooting, have a directimpact on the quality of the grapes: ideal maturity levels, thick skins full of tannins and olfactoryaromas, better acidity levels and healthier grapes. The wines are fresher as some of the natural acidity is preserved. "You find more purity andminerality in Biodynamic wines than you do in organic wines" - Claude and Lydia Bourguignon, agricultural engineers. We attend to our vines, grapes, harvesting and cellar work with the greatestof care, utilizing our ancestral know-how, and all this fine artisanship shows through in our wines. The texture on the palate acquires greater finesse, depth and elegance.

The philosophy of Château Gassier Over the years, Olivier Soulevain has established a clear road map to reveal the AOP Sainte-Victoireand follow sustainable development practices. It is real philosophy which guides the daily work of theteams: on the vines, in the cellar and toward the consumers

Growing PracticesThe Estate’s wines have been officially recognised asorganic wines since it obtained the Organic AgricultureCertification in 2016. Working the soil and the vinesaccording to these principles preserves the naturalbalance and ensures that the wines are a truerexpression of the terroir.

The vines cultivated using the Cordon de Royat pruningtechnique (6 bearing vines with 2 buds maximum) growin loamy and sandy-clays soil. Château Gassier works tomaintain an average to strong water stress bycontrolling the irrigation (authorized by thespecifications) and by managing the leaf surface andworking the soil. The estate also takes core to nurturethe soil with organic matter and natural fertilizers toboast the development and biological cycle of the vines.

In the words of the Winemaker“It is during the harvests that we come torealize the impact that organic methodsof cultivation have on the grapes. Organicwinemaking practices respect the terroirand give the fruit its remarkable purity.By replacing herbicides with mechanicaland manual practices, by being attentiveto the vine’s needs, by using organicmatter in order to improve thecultivation of the soils, by seeking topreserve the biodiversity that is essentialto viticulture, we are able to achieveoptimal compatibility between the soiland the fruit”

Its commitment

ALONG SIDE MAJORINSTITUTIONS

Since 2014, Château Gassier has been directlyassociated with the Grand Site Sainte Victoire. This partnership makes the most of the synergybetween the Winery and the management of thenatural space. Château Gassier benefits from theexpertise of the Grand Site in facilities that helpdevelop biodiversity. This partnership has led to the creation of atemporary pond and a flowering hedge offeringrefuge for small animals; owl nesting boxes;screes, etc.In return the site benefits from financial supportfrom Château Gassier to create habitats for thelocal fauna: butterflies, bats, birds of prey.

FOR THE PUBLIC Another positive outcome of this partnershipwas the opening in April 2015 by ChâteauGassier of a freely accessible, educationalpath through the vines called « Le sentierdes Vignes » to promote the exceptionalbiodiversity of Sainte-Victoire and the wealthof its wines. The aim is also to raise publicawareness about the stakes of a winemakingactivity that respects its environment.

This is a project that, over and above the challenges of protecting the natural ecosystem of Sainte-Victoire, adds to Château Gassier’s desire for a long-term sustainable outlook, emphasizing reasonedgrowing practices that respect people and its environment.

946 ROSÉ 2017

Today the vineyard is managed by Georges Gassier, whorepresents the fifth winegrowing generation of the family, working with the support from his father. It is only over time that passion, hardwork and know-how combined, have helped Château Gassier to develop its exceptional potential for excellence.

CHÂTEAU GASSIER "946" CÔTES DE PROVENCE SAINTE- VICTOIRE ROSÉ DRY STILL 2017Nestling in the foothills of the famous Mount Sainte Victoire, in the heart of a magnificent environment, a few kilometres only from Aix-en-Provence, the Château Gassier's 40 hectares vineyard benefits from this unique terroir. Perched at top of its western peak, at 946m, the Croix de Provence, proud and protectful looks after the vines of the estate. It's first of all the elegance and the most beautiful expression of the Ste Victoire terroir that Château Gassier captures in its cuvée 946. The Estate is now certified organic.

GRAPE VARIETIES : Grenache, Syrah, Rolle

VINEYARDSThe 40 hectares vineyard is composed of the following grape varieties: 30% Grenache noir, 30% Cinsault, 30% Syrah, 5% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 2% Rolle et 3% Ugni blanc. SOILClay and limestone

VINIFICATIONThe creation of 946 rosé requires a precise winemaking based on a fine and delicate assembly of three bases of wine. - A wine from the heavier parts of the juice (lees) previously stored at low temperature (4°C), and then filtered. This base gives to the wine roundness in the mouth. - Another base comes from the alcoholic fermentation in half muid (500l) of new Austrian wood(Stockinger) which gives complexity. The last base comes from the fermentation between 14°C and 16°C in concrete tank to reveal aromas.

TASTING NOTESAppearance : A pale pink robe with apricot and salmon hints.Nose : The nose boasts intense notes of white and yellow fruits (such as peach, pineapple) and exotic fruits (such as mango and fresh coconut). The Vignobles Jeanjean

ince 1870, my family has been a major actor in the history of the Languedoc

qualitative winemaking scene. Today I represent, along with my sister and my

cousins, the 5th generation of the Jeanjean Family.

Our 7 estates represent the diversity of the crus and appellations of Languedoc. Each

wine illustrates our signature, that we call « le Languedoc éclatant » (startling

Languedoc wines). This is how Matthieu Carliez, our chief winemaker since 2003,

describes what makes our wines unique :

Our unique style of wines, that we describe as « Languedoc éclatant – startling Languedoc », is a style of bright, intense, aerial, balanced and fresh wines. We believe in organic viticulture because it’s the best way to represent the essence of a terroir, and to protect the people working on the estate. Each of our bottles is an invitation to reveal the richness and diversity of the Languedoc, to enjoy moments of sharing and friendliness. Those are the value that we ‘ve been transmitting in my family from generation to generation.

4 estates are currently organically certified, with the objective to be 100% organic by 2021. Our

environment philosophy goes beyond the organic certification. For example, our Domaine le Pive is

HVE certified, with the highest rate (HVE : High Environmental Value). This certification takes into

account biodiversity or water management. On each estate, we protect and encourage the

development of the biodiversity.

E N V I R O N M E N T P R O T E C T I O N

According to Matthieu Carliez, Chief winemaker of Vignobles Jeanjean : “When we started to

convert our vineyards to organic viticulture 10 years ago, our main concern was to take care of the

health of our people working in them and by extension, to take care of each specific environment :

soil, fauna and flora. Moreover, organic viticulture allows us to get wines more faithful and respectful

of their terroir. This is not the only factor but it is a key element, coherent with our bright wines

signature. “

The 1960s saw a turning point when Pierre Pommier, grandfather to the current generation, decided tostop using insecticides on his vines. Raphäel, a seventh-generation Pommier, joined the Domaine in1994 and carries on his forbears’ work. The estate has been certificated Bio since 2006.

This is a voluntary approach that only rewardsour practices in the vineyard, not in the cellar:

- Biodiversity : diversity of plantings, hedges,fallow-land

- Our crop protection strategy : no weedkiller, treatment of waste waters, …

- Good practices of fertilisation: nitrogenrate follow-up, soil analysis, soil cover

- Water ressource management : tracability, water savings, monitoring and decisionmaking process

This label is an acknowledgment to theproducers who are showing a great involvementin their environmental approach.

This environmental label illustrates our quest tofind the right balance between our vineyardpractices and our concern to keep thesurrounding environment of the estate alive andprotective for the natural habitat (birds, bats, insects, etc…)

The Laroche vineyards have been certified HVE

From Chablis to the Languedoc, Laroche follows the same philosophy: to reveal theidentity of each terroir in its wines while protecting the vineyard environment, from theground to biodiversity.

Laroche, an historical producer of the Chablis wine

In the North of Burgundy, Chablis, crossed by the Serein river which sculpts the countryside by the 2banks with very distinctive characteristics, gained recognition as one of the best Chardonnayvineyards. The Kimmeridgian clayey soil contributed mainly to its fame. Within this wideappellation, Domaine Laroche holds a key and central position by being established in the heart of thevillage with its cellars based in the old Obédiencerie of the IXth century and with vineyards in themost famous appellations ( Premier and Grand Crus). This almost unique situation in the region has enabled Laroche to produce authentic and true Chabliswines, while adopting a production guideline in total respect with the environment.

The environment, a long-lived commitment

Totally aware of the importance of the ecosystem in the production chain of high quality wines, theLaroche technical team led by Grégory Viennois has been for a very long time carefully taking care ofthe land. This implies a constant research and application of a policy well aware of the vineyardbalance in its surroundings. For example, the use of homeopathy and phytotherapy is favored to leadthe plant to use its natural defenses. Organic steps are taken such as sexual confusion or also “massalselection”: this traditional method selects the best plants to preserve the historical vineyard identity. The aim is to produce the best possible quality for the grapes. The respect of the soil is a major issueand therefore we only replant after a three-year rest of the ground or by sowing winter cereals tokeep a green cover and of course, no chemical at all.The human dimension is in the heart of our philosophy. Following this principle, at Domaine Laroche, each team member is in charge and nurses its own plot throughout the year: one man, one plot.

The HVE certification, an asset and a strong recognition.

This struggle for biodiversity goes beyond the vine activity as Laroche has undertaken a huge programof replanting hedges in its vineyard as well as setting up beehives. In the same spirit, a contract hasbeen signed in 2016 with LPO (the French league for birds’ preservation) in order to place in thevineyard birdhouses specially dedicated for a small owl called Chevêche d’Athéna which likes this typeof environment.

Upon these elements, the AFNOR (certification organization) has awarded Domaine Laroche end of2016 the HVE certification (High environmental value). After checking the biodiversity within thevineyard, the organic fertilizing process (by natural rotting and assimilation), the management ofphytosanitary products (insects, spiders, fungus, etc.), this certification assesses the overall impact ofthe vineyard activity within the Domaine. The HVE certification is a strong recognition of the effortslead by Domaine Laroche in terms of environmental preservation and sustainable positive practices.

Mas la Chevaliere, at the heart of the Languedoc20 years dedicated to vine and wine

The story of Mas La Chevaliere is about exceptional terroirs. It all started with the discovery of twovineyards Peyroli and Roqua Blanca.Peyroli was planted at the end of the 1980s on a clay-limestone soil at an altitude of 400m. The wholevineyard is dedicated to Chardonnay. Thanks to a cool microclimate, this place is made for great whitewines.Roqua Blanca is divided into a number of small plots, like a mosaic, and is perfect for black varieties.Altitude, soil composition and exposure make a perfect balance to the climate of the region.

Just like wat is done in Chablis, the preservation of the environment, natural resourcesand biodiversity is at the heart of daily work in the vineyards of Mas La Chevalière.

The HVE certification also in the Languedoc

This commitment for biodiversity goes beyond the only wine-making activity. For instance, Mas la Chevalière, in collaborationwith the Biodiversity Department of the Hérault region, hasinstalled two bat boxes on the Roqua Blanca vineyard. The vineyard,by its natural environment and its rich biodiversity is an ideal placefor their food. Nocturnal and insectivorous, can eat 1/3 of theirweight per night! One of them, the pipistrelle is a useful auxiliary ofviticulture since it contributes to regulate the population of one ofthe main pests of the vineyard, Eudemis.

In the continuity of Chablis, the AFNOR awarded in December 2017 the HVE certification (HighEnvironmental Value) level 3A to Mas la Chevalière. To receive this quality certification reflectsLaroche's upstream commitment to environmental preservation as well as positive and sustainablepractices.

And the intentions of Mas La Chevalière do not stop there. Its two vineyards Peyroli and RoquaBlanca have started their organic conversion in 2017. To be continued ...

THE FIGURES

48 000 The number of pheromone capsules that will be placed in the coming days in thevineyards of Château Patache d’Aux in the Médoc. These “sexual confusion” techniques have beenused to disrupt mating on the entire 80-hectare estate since 2016, as an alternative to pesticides, tocontrol Lobesia botrana and Eupoecilia ambiguella – also called grapevine moths.

11 The number of hectares at Château Liversan that will be dedicated to organic winegrowingpractices by the end of 2018 (compared to 7 ha last year) for this 50-hectare vineyard.“This change may not seem very ambitious, yet it is significant for this vineyard, where tillage is afairly recent practice that is only carried out on 2/3 of the plots,” explains Philippe Marchal, TechnicalDirector for the Haut-Médoc.

0 A COMMON GOAL FOR OUR VINEYARDS: “ZERO RESIDUESWe are gradually moving towards a zero-residue commitment for the wines from our main estates–Château Capet-Guillier and Châteaux Patache d’Aux are driving forces in this priority commitment forAntoine Moueix Propriétés.Since the 2016 vintage (so for 2 years now) we have not detected any traces of chemical inputresidues, based on screening for 500 molecules.

Benoit Coq, Technical Director for the Right Bank, applies these good practices on all the estates hemanages, including at Capet-Guillier since 2009, the date it was acquired and the start of thecollaboration with Stephane Derenoncourt (See above). “Our ZERO RESIDUE commitment is the resultof many years of tests, measurements and close observations of how our vines react. To get the verybest from our terroir, we must respect it and favour solutions that are in keeping with our sustainablemethods whenever possible.”

In addition to certifications, Antoine Moueix Propriétés generally guides its estates towardsenvironmentally-friendly vineyard management techniques, in line with the “zero residue” philosophythat is shared by all the AdVini wine companies. Our estates receive support from quality technicians who raise the awareness of the personnel andprovide them with the keys they need to monitor and improve the indicators.

Lucie Lauilhé, Medoc Technical Director explains: “Adaptation is the key. I am an agricultural engineer by trade but also by conviction, and I know that the climate of the vintage and the terroir affect all these winemaking practices which cannot be exemplary each year, given that the Bordeaux vineyards have an oceanic (and therefore wet) climate by nature.”

Château Patache d'Aux has earned dual ISO 14001 and HVE3 certification, reflecting its strongcommitment to the Environmental Management System (EMS) since 2012.In September 2017, the estate was awarded HVE3 certification, thereby achieving dual ISO 14001 andHVE3 certification, a status held by only 120 of the 700 member companies of the EMS Associationfor Bordeaux wines. It was a major event for Château Patache d’Aux which “revolutionized” its methods with theinauguration of an ultra-modern vat room for the 2017 harvest.

Château Capet-Guillier and Château Liversan will be awarded HVE3 certification by the end of the year

• Ploughing the soil (80% to 100% depending on the estate), natural grass cover and mechanicalcultivation, organic fertilization using green fertilizer (combination of cereals and pulses), plantingcereals between the rows (barley, wheat, rye, etc.) to loosen the soil, limit erosion, improve loadcarrying capacity and promote the biodiversity of plant and animal life.

• Biocontrol methods using organic plant protection products rather than conventional anti-botrytis treatments. Château Patache d’Aux uses Lithothamnion (calcium) before the harvest forits natural anti-botrytis effect.

• Elimination of anti-botrytis treatments on 80% to 100% of the land, depending on the vineyard.

• Ending the use of CMR substances.

• Fruit moth control using “sexual confusion” techniques as an alternative to pesticides, to controlLobesia botrana and Eupoecilia ambiguella – also called grapevine moths.

• Recycling winemaking waste
