“KIND ATTENTION OF TANGEDCO’s LT/LTCT INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL

CONSUMERS:

TANGEDCO has stated to adopt previous month billing (PMC) for all LT and LTCT

services whose bill month is March 2020/April 2020 and the reading date is from

22.03.2020 to 30.04.2020 i.e to adopt the amount billed for January 2020/February

2020/March 2020, as the case may be, as bill amount for March 2020/April 2020.

2.0) In this connection, several LT/LTCT Industrial and Commercial consumers

have represented to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu that as many of such

LT/LTCT Industrial and Commercial establishments are not functioning during the lock

down period due to COVID-19, PMC Billing [(ie) bill raised based on the previous

month’s amount assessed] is higher as compared to the actual usage.

3.0) In view of the LT/LTCT Industrial and Commercial consumers’

representation, based on the direction of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,

the Hon’ble Minister for Electricity, Prohibition & Excise, has instructed to accept

‘self-assessment’ reading as furnished by the LT/LTCT industrial and commercial

consumers for the bill month April 2020 instead of PMC billing. Hence, EDCs may be

instructed to accept the “self-assessment reading” furnished by the LT/LTCT

Industrial and commercial consumers alone:

a) Through SMS/Whatsapp/E-mail Message to the AE/JE’s (Section Officer)

Mobile Number/E-mail ID in the form of Text or photo image of the

Kwhr/Kvahr/MD (as applicable). The respective AE/JE’s (Section Officer)

Mobile Number/E-mail ID can be obtained by the LT/LTCT Industrial and

Commercial consumers from TANGEDCO’s website www.tangedco.gov.in

b) Based on the reading furnished by the LT/LTCT industrial and commercial

consumers the Section Officer shall raise the bill for April 2020 instead of PMC

billing. The bills can be communicated to the respective consumers in the

same mode as the readings have been received (SMS/Whatsapp/E-mail

Message) by the Section Officer concerned.

c) The LT/LTCT consumers may be advised to make use of the online payment

facilities such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Payment Gateway,

Bharath Bill Pay System (BBPS) etc., for the payment of current consumption

charges and other arrear charges, as a precautionary measure.

d) The above instructions would not apply to other consumer categories, such

as LT domestic consumers etc., and are valid till 3.5.2020.”
