Chapter One The Mud Pit

Robin was on his way to Flintwood Primary, his local school, when a mysterious, ghostly, almost-silent whistle occured. He assumed it was the wind, so he mumbled, ‘It’s windy today,’ as he

stared at his reflection in the car window. He was thinking about the tree that he, Woody and Toby had planted at the end of the school playground the day before. Also, he was worried how it might not grow because the acorns could’ve blown away or the soil that was covering it might’ve revealed the acorn and the teachers would throw it away. ‘Well it’s meant to get warmer in the afternoon,’ lied Robin’s mum trying to cheer him up, but it didn’t work.At morning break, Robin and Woody were arguing about whose bug hotel was the cosiest, in the cloakroom. As they were walking to the door to go outside, Woody said, ‘I heard that Toby’s has a slide made out of seaweed!’‘I miss Toby!’ Robin murmured looking down.‘Don’t worry he’s probably got a cold or has been sick. He’ll be back by Thursday!’ Calmly reassured Woody putting his arm round Robin. Toby was off school quite often, but nobody knew why.

As they went outside, from a distance they could see a herd of children crowding round in a circle.

‘Who’s fallen over?’ Asked Robin staring at the children whilst running towards them.‘I don’t know, I can’t see,’ replied Woody. Robin started to slow down so Woody could catch up. ‘I just realised, that’s where we planted the tree!’‘Oh no!’ Moaned Woody, peering over the children. As he was not very tall, this was quite a challenge. ‘There must have been a poisonous bird who had laid an egg on it or something.’‘Are you joking?!’ Whinged Robin.

In front of them was a huge pile of wet mud and a boy, with dark hair and a rather long nose, standing on it. ‘Look I’m on it!’ shouted the boy, trying to impress his friends.‘Ha! Look Jamey, Owen stuck in ‘e mud!’ Said Derek, a tall, but rather large boy, whilst elbowing the small boy next to him, who must be Jamey.‘OWEN DAVIDSON! GET OUT OF THERE NOW!’ Screamed Mrs Davidson, Owen’s mum and headteacher, running towards the children.‘But muuum!’ moaned Owen, embarrassed.

‘HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU! DON’T CALL ME MUM CALL ME MRS DAVIDSON! I SHALL BE TELLING YOUR FATHER ABOUT THIS! Derek! Jamey! Get him out of there!’The two boys sighed, as they pulled Owen out of the mud and stood him up.‘Was anyone else doing this Margaret?’ Asked the headteacher.‘No,’ squeaked a small girl with large glasses.‘I didn’t ask you Agatha!’‘Sorry,’ Agatha apologised.‘You should be, Aggie! She asked me, not you! And yes, Robin and Woody were dancing on it!’ lied Margaret, a very tall girl and a very annoying one at that.‘LUNCHTIME DETENTION!’ Shouted Mrs Davidson.Robin and Woody’s hearts sank.

At lunchtime, they sat nervously outside the headteachers office, a large room with a long table and a huge, but delicate, chandelier hanging from the wooden ceiling above. It is a lovely place to

look at but when you are in it, your opinion is guaranteed to change. ‘COME IN!’ demanded the nasty headteacher as Aggie was running out of the office of horrors, crying.The two crept through huge golden stained-glass doors.

When they were inside, Owen’s mum’s angry face was as red as a beetroot.‘Sorry miss but we didn’t do it,’ murmured Woody as he took a great gulp of saliva.‘Shh,’ quickly moaned Robin.‘WHAT..DID….YOU…JUST……SAY?” She said it very quickly but slowly at the same time and then passed out.

‘Go quickly, before she wakes up!’ whispered Robin, beckoning Woody out of the beautiful doors. ‘Look at the time! It’s quarter to one! The people come to eat their lunch at half one, if we

go outside now, we might be able to dig the mud up and get the acorn!’‘But won’t we miss eating lunch?’ moaned Woody holding his rumbling stomach.‘Yeah but we might get something off afterwards!’‘I doubt it!’‘Ok, I do it myself then!’ grumbled Robin, miserably walking away.‘Fine! I’ll come with you but only ‘till 5 to,’ agreed Woody.‘Come on!’ Robin beckoned. ‘They’ll be coming in soon!’

They sprinted outside to the very unusual mud pit BANG! Robin fell into it. Then he reached out for a rock and tried to pull himself out but failed.‘I-I can’t g-get out!’ ‘Oh no!’ despaired Woody as he put his hand out. ‘Take my hand quick!’ Robin grabbed Woody’s hand and pushed with all his might while Woody pulled so hard, he got a bit worried he was going to pull Robin’s arm off. The whistling sound from that morning had started

again but this time louder! ‘Ow! What’s that sound’ moaned Woody letting go of Robin’s hand to cover his ears.

Now that Woody had let go of him, what was he going to do? Wondered Robin, pulling on the ground as the squelching mud dried on his skin and the horrible noise that was now as loud as Mrs Davidson screaming in his ear. If he covered his own ears, then he’d sink into the ground!‘Help! Woody HEEEELLLPPP!’ Screamed Robin, trying to get hold of Woody. Finally, he got a grip on his leg and pulled so hard that his friend almost flew over his head, but instead he fell into it to!

Then everything went dark…

The only thing that Robin could do was be aware of his surroundings. He felt like he was in a lift. Going down but up at the same time. Now he could hear people talking.‘You hear that?’ mentioned a voice.‘Hear wot?’ said another.

‘That noise, go and tell King Milo! I think we have a prisoner!’

Chapter TwoTobias Wood

Robin started to feel air again, so he whispered, ‘Woody? Are you there?’‘Shh, I can hear people talking,’ whispered Woody putting his hand over his stomach. ‘and I’m starving!’ They both heard rummaging above them, as if someone was digging them up.‘Oh no what’s that?’‘Quick! Take my hand!’ a voice demanded as an arm appeared in front of them. Woody grabbed the hand straight away while Robin grabbed the arm. The two where lifted above the horrible, slimy mud, and into a dark, gloomy room with the only light coming from a barred door’s reflection of another room above.‘Wh-ho are y-you?’ Woody questioned, staring at a man in armour which looked like it was from the Romans. ‘I am Tobias Wood and I already know who you two are Robin and Woody!’ replied Tobias.‘How on earth do you know our names?’ asked Robin, astonished.

‘I’ll tell you later!’ said Tobias. ‘Quick follow me!’ As the three sprinted into a corner, in the gloomy room, they heard footsteps outside…

‘You know I really didn’t think we’d get any prisoners without any Dragontail blood in it but maybe Devilhorn blood works too!’ exclaimed an unknown voice.‘What’s Devilhorn?’ whispered Woody as the word ‘devil’ didn’t sound great.‘SShh!’ said Robin putting his finger in front of his mouth.‘Alright, alright!’ joked Woody at the wrong time. ‘I was only asking!’‘So,’ asked the unknown voice, searching. ‘where are they?’ ‘Well they were jus’ appearin’ ou’ of the mud so I wen’ to tell you!’ explained another voice.

‘Wait here!’ demanded Tobias, putting his hand out and grabbing a spear with the other.He then moved so quickly he was just a blur. The two, hiding, heard, Ow, Argh, and other weird

sounds until they saw that Tobias was lying on the ground almost dead.

‘Run, quick!’ said the other man who looked a bit like Tobias but much larger with spiky brown hair, as Robin turned round to see a man, with long, blond hair and a huge crown the size of his torso slamming the barred door behind him, leaving the spiked hair man behind.

POW! A large stone had knocked the man with the spiked hair out. But how? He didn’t throw it, Tobias was on the floor and Woody was… well was behind him! Thought Robin, scared as a mouse with a cat chasing them. ‘Woody! How? That stone is huge!’ ‘Come on!’ beckoned Woody running over to Tobias and helping him sit up. ‘Are you ok?’‘Yeah, I’m alright, just my thumb must be broken, I can’t move it!’ replied Tobias, trying to move it. ‘Just don’t go back through the mud, it can kill you.’

‘Really! Oh no! What should we do? We’re going to be here forever!’ despaired Robin, walking backwards and forwards.‘Calm down I’ve got the key somewhere in my armour, but I can’t get it because my thumbs broken!’ explained Tobias.‘No! I have it in my hand here,’ mentioned Woody, showing it off.‘Ok you’re a superhero! You threw a huge rock, and then you just teleported a key!’ said Robin.

Chapter Three The Secret Plan‘I didn’t teleport it, it was just in my hand! Look, I have a plan to get us all out of here. We can get into his armour,’ exclaimed Woody pointing to the

unconscious soldier Tobias carry us as if we’re going to the infermory! Simple!’‘No, no, no!’ replied Tobias. ‘You do realise the there are actually a few more rooms to go outside, including a spiral stair case and King Milo’s throne room!’

‘Ok, who is King Milo?’ asked Robin. ‘Me and Woody just fell into this mud thing, now we’re in this weird prison and we’re expected to know a King, which we don’t even have in the UK, named Milo!’‘Let me explain,’ calmly suggested Tobias. ‘King Milo is the King of Devilhorn, his Empire, and some people, like me, think he’s to evil to be a king.’ Robin noticed Tobias was looking behind himself, and as he turned, Robin realised what Tobias already knew. Woody had vanished!

Chapter FourThe Fire Robin then felt like he was in a lift again but for much quicker than before. Before he knew it,he was in this village which for some reason, he had a distant memory of. ‘Tobias? Tobias?’ shouted Robin. ‘Woody? Are you there?’ He heard bustling around, like he was in a very small city and a huge fire had just started. In fact, he was! He felt warm wind next to his head.

As he struggled to get up, he heard screaming from the top of a medieval looking house.‘HELP! HEEELLLP!’ the screaming sounded as if it was from a girl, about Robin’s age. As soon as he heard the screaming, he knew what he had to do! He sprinted over to the house as the crackle of the fire got louder and louder. He ran

into the building, sweating so much, he dashed upstairs and saw a small girl, sitting down, crying her eyes out.

‘It’s ok!’ said Robin, walking over to the girl. ‘Come with me, I’ll get you out of here!’ Too happy to speak, the girl ran to Robin. ‘T-th-thank you,’ she tiredly sighed.Robin picked her up, carried her outside then sat the girl down on the pavement.‘Thank you so much! Here take this,’ said the girl, taking off a necklace with a small blue cube hanging from the golden chain.‘Really?’ excitedly asked Robin, as he thought the necklace was priceless. ‘Are you sure?’‘Yeah, I don’t need it and anyway you just saved my life, nothing can be as great as that!’ replied the girl as she put her hand out. ‘Take it!’‘Ok! Well thank you! I’ll treasure this!’ said Robin, out of breath. He then took the necklace and walked into the village, where his new journey began…

Chapter 5The New Journey

Not knowing where he was going, Robin walked passed houses, taverns and churches which all seemed to be from the Tudor times.Since he had been in the burning house, he felt much stronger, as if he was in a videogame and got a power up.

Robin then saw a small, old man calling to him, ‘Robin! Robin! Is that you? Why are you here? Hide! Quick!’Robin didn’t understand what he was saying, so he ignored him and kept on walking.‘Robin! Hide! What are you doing? ROBBBIIIINNN!!!!!!’ shouted the old man who then lifted up a similar looking necklace to the one Robin had just received as a gift but, instead of a

blue cube, it was red. Then, Robin suddenly shot towards the old man and then turned passed the village, passed a huge farm and then appeared in the same room as he was previously in with Woody and Tobias!

Robin then heard a voice which sounded a lot like Tobias. ‘King Alfred Milo! I-is that you? The one who covered up the portality of darkness and put the invisible wall between Impwing and Devilhorn? You have got to be kidding me?’‘Impwing? Portal? What do you mean?’ asked Robin. Struggling to get up, he saw Tobias standing in front of him staring at the old man who, before, was calling his name.‘Robin!’ both Tobias and the old man whispered with relief. ‘Why are you here?’ questioned Tobias.‘My lost grandson!’ said the old man’s rough and ancient voice. ‘You’re here! Finally! I knew I could rely on Eva!’‘Eva? Grandson? I don’t remember having a grandpa!’ exclaimed Robin.‘Let me explain,’ said the old man. ‘I am King Alfred Milo, your grandfather and ex-king of Impwing. I am also father to King Milo, but no, King Milo is not your father, he’s your uncle.’

‘I had another Uncle?’ asked Robin. ‘And that evil man is related to me?’‘Yes, he is, unfortunately. I am father to your Mother, and no your mother does not know anything about this world, so don’t tell her anything about this place. Not one thing at all! Around 50 years ago, a few years before your mother was born, there was this huge war against one side of this planet and the other, which ended with an enormous battle in the village you and I were just in before. Fortunately, the side that I was on, now known as Impwing, won. Because we won, I built an invisible wall between Impwing and Devilhorn. Queen Alicia, the old ruler, decided their names after her mother’s and her’s maiden names. In celebration of the wall finally built she made me King. A year later she passed away,’ exclaimed King Alfred.‘So, Queen Alicia was actually my grandma?’‘No, she made me take her place of ruler of Impwin. However, when King Milo was old enough to come here, he immedietly became the King of the, before then, unruled Devilhorn, that’s why I

didn’t let your mother know anything about this place. Anyway the reason, that I’m the ex-king is because now everyone thinks I’m dead, because I’ve been hiding away, on Earth, investigating the plan to make you become the, much needed, King of Impwing!’ arnswered King Alfred.‘Really! I’m the King of a place I literally, hadn’t even heard of, a minute ago! So where is it?’ questioned Robin.‘Well! Because of the invisible wall it is using one of the three telenecklaces,’ replied Tobias ‘but as all three are in Devilhorn, it’s …well…impossible…’

Chapter SixThe Transformation

‘There is one way, one hugely evil way, one despicable way, and that is to kill the king of the empire you want to escape from, which means you’ll have to kill King Milo in order to make peace between the empires,’ said King Alfred. ‘So let’s get started!’‘But I don’t want to kill my own uncle!’ exclaimed Robin. ‘You have no choice!’ King Alfred’s face started to distort and he started to groan.

Tobias and Robin leapt back as King Alfred was now turning into, well King Milo! His long, red hair matched his dark, red eyes. The evil King turned to the two innocent young men, as his despicable

grin grew wider! Just then, a small girl looking very familiar to the one in the fire, started to shake the barred door next to King Milo.

Suddenly, the grey ceiling started to crack above Robin. He just had time to jump over to Tobias when the part of the ceiling he had been sitting below cane crashing down, revealing the true King Alfred; whose wrinkled face was covered with the

longest white hair and the bluest of eyes, reminding him of Father Christmas.

King Alfred had a small boy tucked between his arms which he opened up to release him. It was Woody! Robin felt the weirdest of feelings just like the one he felt at the fire. As if he just had a huge boost of energy. King Alfred threw swords and shields to his allies. ‘Here take these!’ the King demanded.The girl, who had been shaking the bars had now disappeared, as Robin, Woody, Tobias and king Alfred stood menacingly with their swords and shields in hand.‘Woody! You’re here! How?’ Robin asked, staring at Woody.‘I’ll tell you later, now we kill this evil of a man!’

Chapter 7 The Fight of Their Lives

King Milo leapt out to jump on Robin and ejected a transparent, black sword out of his chest. Then everything was dark, Robin felt a scorching pain as if he had walked into fire. He felt like he was dying, the only thing Robin could here was: ‘Nooooo not Robin!’ and ‘You deserve to be dead already!’Then, suddenly, he could see again! ‘Your back! From the dead! This is incredible! It worked!’ shouted Woody in disbelief. ‘It worked! Are you ok Robin?’ ‘Yeah! I’m ok, my chest really hurts though,’ replied Robin trying to lift himself up. ‘I didn’t think I’d be doing this today!’ He could see that Tobias was helping King Alfred fight off King Milo and some of his guards, who had just arrived.Robin got up, grabbed his sword from Woody and threw his sword, as if it was a boomerang at King Milo. But he deflected it off of him into King Alfred! The dead king fell onto the floor!

‘Alfred! Noooo!’ Tobias and Robin both screamed as they jumped over to King Alfred.‘T-take my s-s-sword and become king my g-g-g-grandson,’ the King fell back and stopped breathing.

‘NOOOOOOO!’ Robin cried as Woody tried to fight of the King’s army. ‘You monster!’ He turned round, while white sparkles, which looked a lot like butterflies and flies all came out of King Alfred’s chest and into his own. Robin now felt as if he was a God, a legend or a ghost…

Robin started to float in the air as more and more white sparkles evaporated into his body as if he was a magnet. Woody crawled back out of the way of Robin as he watched the sparkles come out of King Alfred and into Robin.Tobias, struggling to breathe, took a telenecklace off of his neck and said, ‘Stay back Woody! TELEPORT!’ He teleported onto King Milo’s back as he grabbed a small dagger out of his belt and

started to slice through King Milo’s ruby tinted robe all the way down to his waist.‘GET OFF MY BACK YOU MANIAC!’ demanded King Milo, struggling to get Tobias off his back.‘NEVER!’ shouted Tobias, punching King Milo, continuously.

Robin floated back down onto the floor as he jumped and kicked King Milo in the head which made him fall into the mud pit forever…

Chapter 8

The Disappointment On the Staircase

At that moment, Robin realised that Tobias had fallen in fallen in the mud pit as well! I just killed two of my friends! One is even my grandfather! Thought Robin, ashamed of himself. ‘No! Not again! Why! I’m evil!’ exclaimed Robin crying.

‘Well, on the bright side, you’re now a King. Surely that’s good?’ asked Woody standing on his feet.They noticed King Milo’s army was, for some reason, frozen!‘Yeah, I guess, there could be a chance Tobias survived. Why on Earth are they frozen? Should we go to Impwing now that I killed the king of Devilhorn?’ calmly questioned Robin.

‘Yeah! That’ll be fun, but won’t I not be able to come in because I didn’t kill the king, you did? But now that there isn’t a king, I probably will!’ said Woody walking to the barred door, dodging the mud pit. ‘Come on!’

Robin stood up, as Woody opened the door with the key that appeared in his pocket a couple hours before, the two walked in. Robin thought that walking up and down the staircase wasn’t that safe as there were no bannisters. Robin started to hear crumbling in the stone stairs they were standing on. ‘What’s that?’ asked Robin, despairing. ‘Erm…I don’t know,’ replied Woody.

The whistling had started again but this time much louder with an added hushing sound too! Robin could see a floating figure, drifting down the stairs. As it got closer, he could just make out the girl he saved in the fire! ‘W-ho a-a-are y-you,’ asked Woody, backing up from the girl.

Robin recognised her but was to scared to say it. Was she the girl in the fire, if so, why was she levitating and looking so evil?‘Eva, and I’m here to kill you. Well done on defeating King Milo, I knew you’d do it, just a shame they were all fake…’

Chapter 9The Truth

‘Yes, you thought I was good when you ‘saved’ me from the fire. But I’m afraid to say that that’s not true. When Tobias aka Toby was around 5 years old, he found a mud pit, just like the one you fell into today. His small, unclever body, decided to fall right into it. I saw him, so I took him home, raised him up, until he told me that he remembered that at his old school on Earth, he was once friends with a boy that had the exact name as King Alfred’s grandson. I gave Toby a gem which could create a portal disguised as a mud pit and told him to plant it with you on Earth in about a year. I told him to make friends with you and come to me every two weeks or so and then plant

the gem and wait till the next day. King Milo is actually a nice person.’‘You’re lying!’ cried Robin, trying to fight the girl but Woody pulled him back. ‘How come you raised a boy who looks older than you and the weird white things going into my body, they looked pretty real to me?’‘Oh you really think I actually look like this? Boys! Come on!’ the girl demanded. Her and Woody started to groan, just like ‘King Milo’ did.

Derek and Jamey, the headteacher’s son’s friends came walking down the spiral staircase as Woody was turning into Owen, the headteacher’s son, and the girl, well…Mrs Davidson!

‘Robin, I thought you were cleverer than this,’ she exclaimed as Derek and Jamey pushed Robin down the stairs onto the floor in the prison room, which just faded away as if it wasn’t there in the first place. Robin then fell into the room below, the dungeon. There he saw the real Woody trapped in

a metal cage! Before he new it, metal bars surrounded himself as well….

Chapter TenTrapped

What are we going to do? We’re trapped in cages and can’t get out, it’s not like we can teleport out or can we... ‘Woody!’ called Robin. ‘I’ve got a plan. If you grab the other end of my telenacklace we can teleport back to Earth, as both the other necklaces are there!’‘What are telenecklaces?’ asked Woody.‘You’ll see let’s go!’ replied Robin as he laid the telenecklace on the ground outside the cage, but it wasn’t long enough! ‘Now what are we going to do!’

The white sparkles from before were coming from the dead body of King Alfred and into the telenecklace! As this happened, the necklace grew longer, all the way until Woody could pick it up!‘Yes!’ cried Robin. ‘Pick the necklace up!’Woody picked it up then dropped it again, ‘Ow it bu’ Before Woody knew it, Robin and the necklace was gone! He was left alone in a world he new nothing about.

Meanwhile, in Flintwood Primary Robin had come back and he was alive! He instantly ran back inside the school, but no one was there, not even the teachers or even Woody! He started to hear police car sirens and saw the blue and red flashes. He heard them pulling up in the school carpark! I’m saved! Finally I can’t wait to tell Toby and Wood- Where’s Woody! Thought Robin. Maybe Toby survived and he went back to his house and then Woody had teleported to Toby’s house. Yeah that’s probably it.

Robin heard the police looking for him in the school playground. ‘Hello! Anyone here?’ he heard them say.Robin ran back outside and shouted, ‘Over here!’The two policemen who where searching for him came running towards him. ‘Don’t worry. We’re here now!’Robin sprinted over to them. He could also make out his parents standing behind the police.

‘Thank goodness he’s here!’ exclaimed Robin’s Mum. ‘Thank you so much for helping us find him!’Robin was now hugging her.‘That’s alright, is it ok if we put this in tomorrow’s paper?’ ‘Sure!’ replied Robin’s Dad. ‘Where were you Robin?’Robin’s heart was now pounding.What was he going to say? He could hear Woody’s parent’s talking outside the school! ‘I got, erm.. stuck in the hedges.’ Replied Robin struggling to think.‘Come on let’s go home!’ said Mum.

‘We’ve still got to find another child too,’ exclaimed the larger of the two policemen. ‘His name’s Wood… Woody, something like that.’‘Sorry but I don’t know, he could be at Toby’s house wherever that is.’ sighed Robin. ‘Oh you don’t mean Toby Woodington, the one who went missing for several years?’ asked the other police man.‘Yes he is anyway we really need to go now, sorry,’ apologised Mum.

The next morning, he woke up and ran downstairs from a short sleep, as he was continuously thinking about where Woody could be, and saw Dad with the newspaper he must be in. Robin turned his head to read the main headline. FOUR

STUDENTS AND HEAD MISSTRESS FOUND AT SCHOOL AT MIDNIGHT… Head Mistress and three other boys? Thought Robin….. They had escaped…
