If you have cancer, you may get side effects from treatment or symptoms from the cancer. Cancer Care Ontario has created 10 guides to help you and your family members manage your symptoms. The guides are filled with easy to understand, practical tips for what you should do and when to get help from your healthcare team.

The symptoms that the guides address are:•  Fatigue•  Nausea and Vomiting•  Pain•  Constipation•  Diarrhea•  Depression •  Anxiety•  Loss of Appetite•  Shortness of Breath•  Mouth Problems

The guides are available in several languages including French, Chinese, Italian, and Spanish.

You can pick-up a guide in the Princess Margaret Patient and Family Library. The Library is on the main floor in the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. You can also find the guides online at: www.cancercare.on.ca/toolbox/symptools/patient_symptom_management_guides/

Please join us at the Patient & Family Education Lunch and Learn. Ovarian Cancer: Knowledge is Power will be presented by Cailey Crawford, Ontario Regional Director at Ovarian Cancer Canada. The presentation will include information about:

•  The facts, risks and signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer and touch upon the challenges associated with early detection and diagnosis.

•  Inherited genetic mutations and opportunities for prevention.

•  The role that Ovarian Cancer Canada plays to support those with ovarian cancer and their families.
