Week 6 We are almost half way through the term and ‘busy’ is a word being bandied about in all areas of the school and wider community. I think for educators, the end of year is one of our most intense times: planning for the coming school year, organising classes, presentation assemblies, Year 6 farewell, reports etc. It is really important to read all of the information that comes home to families to ensure a smooth transition into the Christmas holiday period. At this time, classes for 2016 have not been finalised. Organising class structures, staff and placing students into classes is a long and carefully considered process. Students will be advised of their new classes on the first day back next year. If you know that you will be leaving the school before the commencement of the 2016 school year, can you please advise the ladies in the office as soon as possible. Each year, the school conducts an Annual School Assessment Survey. This survey is designed to assess current school practices and policies on learning, along with parent satisfaction. Responses will be used to improve and guide future directions at our school.
All feedback is greatly appreciated and we would appreciate if you have the time to complete the survey via the link below as we truly value your feedback The link will be accessible until Friday 11 December, 2015.

You can also access the survey from both our Facebook site and school website.
Do you have a friend or family member who is considering attending our
great school next year? If you do please encourage them to come and
collect an enrolment form.

Breakfast Club
Now on Monday AND Friday mornings in the Hall from 8.30am
Stage 2 students have been researching silkworms and compiled an information report. Here are some interesting
facts they’ve discovered…
* Silkworms can live in a container as long as there are air holes for them to breathe.
*Silkworms don't need to drink water. Instead, they get water from the mulberry leaves they eat. (Can you think of
another animal like that?)
* Don't worry if you run out of fresh mulberry leaves, as silkworms can eat a small amount of lettuce leaves, but it
affects the quality of their silk.
* They have large strong jaws for cutting and slicing through mulberry leaves.
* Silkworms hatch out of eggs and as they eat, they grow bigger. Once they reach a certain size, they spin a silk
cocoon and turn into moths.
* The worms grow to about seventy times their original size and shed their skin four times!!!!
* Did you know that a silkworm stays in its cocoon for three weeks before emerging as a moth?
*Did you know that once a
moth lays eggs, it dies? : (
* The scientific name for a
silkworm is Bombyx Mori.
* Today there are no wild
silkworms left.
