Wonders of Water, you find out how water can turn from air to liquid to a solid crystal. A snowflake is a tiny cluster of crystals made of frozen water. These snow crystals fall from the sky when it’s too cold to rain. Even though billions of them fall every year, no two snowflakes are alike—though most have six sides. Do you want to create your own unique snowflake? Whether you’re surrounded by flurries or live where the sun always shines and snow never falls, you’ll have a flake-tastic time making your own! Instructions: 1 Print pages 1 and 2 for your base. 2 Cut along the solid blue lines and throw the trimmings in your recycle bin. 3 Fold your cutout in half along the blue and white dashed lines. Open it up and fold it again on each of the two remaining lines. 4 Leave it folded in half and use the creases to make a triangle by folding one side over and the other side under. 5 Now, using scissors, carefully cut some shapes around the edges of your triangle. (Be sure an adult is around when cutting.) 6 Open up to reveal your beautiful snow crystal! To add flair to your flakes, cut them out of shiny wrapping paper or a colorful magazine page. folded folding folded in half Blue shapes show the patterns we cut out.
