To provide a software upgrade for the Garmin G1000 System that includes the following changes:
• Garmin GFC-700 Pitch Trim Monitor Improvement: Removed a possible condition that could cause a Pitch Trim Failure when operating aircraft flaps while the GFC-700 is automatically trimming the aircraft.
• WAAS System Updates: Several GPS/WAAS system updates were implemented to improve the WAAS system using the GIA-63W. Supports removal of GPS-WAAS G1000 limitations.
• Fuel Level Sensor Updates: Implemented the support of CAN Bus Fuel Level Sensors and other fuel calibration page updates.
• CO Detector Interface: To ensure communication is re-established between the CO Guardian and the GIA-63(W).
• Resolution for Garmin Service Alert No. 0811: Implemented fix in GDU 9.02 to resolve Garmin Service Alert issue.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0816B: Implemented fix in GDU 9.02 to resolve software handling of the issue transmitted in No.: 0816B.

• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0908: Implemented in GDU 9.02 to resolve the software issue transmitted in Garmin Service Advisory No. 0908 related to the DME system.
• Load Optional Airway Waypoints: Update which allows all airway waypoints (including optional waypoints) to be loaded when an airway segment is added to a flight plan.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0745: Software fix removing the possible issue related to the selection of a CDI scale setting of 0.3 nm preventing WAAS vertical deviation from being displayed.
• NAVAID Frequency Loading: A software update which will automatically load the approach navaid frequency when an approach is loaded from a flight plan.
• Enhancement to Add Display of TOPO and NEXRAD Simultaneously: Allows both TOPO and NEXRAD data to be displayed on maps at the same time.
• Standard Baro Display Enhancement: Improved the precision of the Standard Barometric value (more than just 29.92), and now displays this value when selected by using the PFD1 Softkey STD BARO as ‘STD BARO’ in the baro setting window on the Altitude Tape.
• PFD Inset Map Display of TRFC-2: Added the ability to display a traffic only inset map display on the PFD; known as TRFC-2.
• Canadian XM Weather Support: Added the support of Canadian NexRad Weather Data, METAR, TAF and Winds/Temp Aloft display when XM Weather Data is available.
• TAS System Update: Updated the TAS softkey and user interface to utilize a STANDBY and NORMAL softkey operation.
• GPS Status on the AUX – GPS STATUS Page: Updated the GPS STATUS page to indicate GPS Fix, Signal Strength, Position Calculation Status, and Tracking.
• Hotspot Display: Added the display of hotspot information from the SafeTaxi database; geo-referenced overlaying the existing airport diagram and moving map.
• Map Pointer to Highlight Airways: Added the ability to highlight an Airway using the Map cursor/pointer to display the Minimum Enroute Altitude (MEA) and the Leg Distance.
• TAWS Flight Phase Transition Criteria: Modified the TAWS flight phase transition criteria to account for airports that are within close proximity of one another as to reduce TAWS nuisance alerts when entering and leaving the Departure and Approach phases of flight.
• Altitude Tape Limit: Extended the Altitude Tape lower limit from -1000 ft to -2000 ft to ease the testing of the Air Data Computer by Maintenance Personnel (reference FAR 91.411).
• High Side Current Monitor: Added High Side Current Monitor (HSCM) Calibration Page, reference the Garmin Line Maintenance Manual for additional details. Not a pilot interface change, ground use only item.
• HSDB Data Bus Resolution: Garmin fix to an issue introduced in GDU 8.20 that might suspend HSDB communication on a single Ethernet port for one minute.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No.: 0838: GPS/WAAS issue that involves a potential reset of the GPS/WAAS receiver when operating in specific northern latitudes.
DESCRIPTION
The Garmin G1000 system software should be upgraded as described in this Service Bulletin.
COMPLIANCE
Mandatory: shall be accomplished within the next 6 months or 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.
NOTE: For airplanes affected by Cessna Service Bulletin SB07-34-02 Revision 1 (Garmin G1000 System Software Upgrade to Version 563.03), if not already accomplished, SB07-34-02 Revision 1 must be accomplished before compliance with this Service Bulletin.
NOTE: Existing Garmin software backup CDs shall be destroyed and discarded to eliminate the possibility of loading the incorrect software at a later date.

2.0 man-hours to load the software upgrade
If necessary, 0.1 man-hour to load each one of the applicable configuration uploads for airplanes equipped with the following: CO Guardian, Honeywell Traffic Advisory System (TAS), Honeywell Automatic Direction Finder (ADF), Honeywell Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), Comant Antenna, GFC 700 Autopilot, or Fuel CAN BUS Fuel Level Sensors.
If necessary, 0.3 man-hour to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with the Garmin G1000 Terrain Awareness System (TAWS-B).
If necessary, 0.4 man-hour to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with the Garmin G1000 Chartview System.
If necessary, 0.2 man-hour to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with Garmin G1000 Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT).
If necessary, 0.3 man-hour to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with Garmin G1000 Search and Rescue.

CREDIT INFORMATION
For airplanes in warranty:
A labor allowance credit of 2.0 man-hours per airplane will be provided to load the software upgrade.
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.1 man-hour will be provided to load each one of the applicable configuration uploads for airplanes equipped with the following: CO Guardian, Honeywell Traffic Advisory System (TAS), Honeywell Automatic Direction Finder (ADF), Honeywell Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), Comant Antenna, GFC 700 Autopilot, or Fuel CAN BUS Fuel Level Sensors.
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.3 man-hour will be provided to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped win the Garmin G1000 Terrain Awareness System (TAWS-B).

General Information
NOTE 1: If the system software fails to upload correctly during accomplishment of this Service Bulletin, do the software load again. Do not try to upload more than five times. If the system does not upload after the fifth attempt, contact Cessna Aircraft Customer Service, Telephone 316-517-5800 or Fax 316-517-7271. Do not cancel a software upload that is in progress. Let the system either successfully load or fail.
Instructions
CAUTION: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN EXACT STEP-BY-STEP ORDER COULD RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE GDU SUPPLEMENTAL DATABASE AND/OR SD CARDS.
1. Do the software and paper documentation:
A. Remove, destroy, and discard the old Cessna NAV III Installation Software CD from the sleeve in the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) to eliminate the possibility of reloading the incorrect software at a later date, and get the new Cessna NAV III Installation Software CD to load the new software.
B. Remove the old Garmin G1000 Cockpit Reference Guide for Cessna NAV III and replace it with the Garmin G1000 Cockpit Reference Guide for Cessna NAV III, Part Number 190-00384-09 Revision A (or latest revision).
C. The Garmin G1000 Cockpit Reference Guide for Cessna NAV III, Part Number 190-00384-09 Rev A and the applicable airplane model Cessna Garmin NAV III Installation Software CD were sent to the aiplane owner with Owner Advisory SB09-34-05A. You must use the new CD when when you do the software upgrade on the airplane. When not in use, the CD should be stored in the Pilot's Operating Handbook sleeve for the NAV III Garmin Software.
NOTE: For U.S. registered owners of record only: a Garmin Cockpit Reference Guide will not be sent to Duplicate Owner Advisory addresses, it will only be sent to the address as registered with the FAA.
2. Do an identification of WAAS installation and GDU boot block:
A. Connect a ground power unit to the airplane.
B. Disengage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) and MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breakers.
C. Put the BAT MASTER switch to the ON position
D. Put the AVIONICS MASTER switches to the ON position.
E. If you have a ground power unit connected to the airplane, put the STDBY BATT switch to ARM.
F. Push and hold the ENT key on the MFD and engage the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breaker.
G. Release the ENT key when the message INITIALIZING SYSTEM shows on the MFD.
H. Push and hold the ENT key on the PFD, and engage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) circuit breakers.
I. Release the ENT key when the message INITIALIZING SYSTEM shows on the PFD.
J. If necessary, use the FMS knob, go to the system group SYSTEM STATUS page on the PFD.
K. Push the small FMS knob to start the cursor.
L. Turn the small FMS knob to highlight GIA1 in the LRU field.
M. In the DATA field, find the product number for the GIA.
NOTE: If the product number shown is GIA63W, WAAS is installed.
NOTE: If the product number shown is GIA63, WAAS is not installed.
N. Record which system (GIA63W or GIA63) you have for the correct system upload.
O. Turn the small FMS knob to highlight PFD1 in the LRU field.

P. In the DATA field, find the boot block version for the PFD, shown as BB VERSION.
Q. Record the BB VERSION for the PFD1.
R. Push the FMS knob to stop the cursor.
S. Disengage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) and MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breakers.
T. Wait a minimum of 15 seconds and then engage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) and the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breakers.
U. Let the system power on in normal mode.
V. On the MFD, push the ENT key when the splash screen shows.
W. Turn the large FMS knob to go to the system group and then turn the small FMS knob to go to the AUX-SYSTEM STATUS page.
X. In the AIRFRAME display box on the AUX-SYSTEM STATUS page on the MFD, find and record the SYSTEM ID.
Y. Put the AVIONICS BUS 1 and BUS 2 switches, MASTER BAT switch, and STDBY BATT switch to the off position and let the system power down.
3. (Refer to Tables 2, 3, and 4.) If you do not know which options are installed on your airplane, make sure you make a list of the installed options before you go to Step 5. This list is necessary to do the configuration procedures.
4. Install the correct PFD and MFD boot block before you install the system software version 563.14 as follows:
A. Look at the BB VERSION that you recorded:
(1) If the PFD1 BB VERSION was 2.03, go to Step 5.
(2) If the PFD1 BB VERSION was not 2.03, make sure that you have complied with Cessna Service Bulletin SB07-34-02 Revision 1 or latest revision.
(a) If the PFD1 BB VERSION is now 2.03, go to Step 5.
(b) If the PFD1 BB VERSION is not 2.03, go to Step 4B.
B. Create the boot block update SD card as follows:
(1) Put the new Cessna NAV III installation software CD in the CD drive of your computer.
(2) Right mouse click on the START button on the lower left corner of the computer screen and click on EXPLORE.
(3) Find the CD drive with the CD in it on your computer and double click it to open the CD files.
(4) Double click on the file labeled 006-B0874-00.exe.
(5) After the window opens, click the SETUP button.
(6) The next window should say that GDUIXXX, Boot Block Loader, Version v2.03 is the software.
(a) If v2.03 is the version shown, go to Step 4B(7).
(b) If v2.03 is not the version shown, go to Step 4B(4).
(7) Install a blank CD card in the SD card reader and click the NEXT button.
(8) After the next window asks for your SD reader location, click the location of the SD card reader and then click the NEXT button.
NOTE: SanDisk, Toshiba, and STEC are the three card brands that are recommended by Garmin for use in their G1000 system.
(9) When the window opens, click the NEXT button.
(10) The software will begin to transfer from the CD to the SD card, and when the data transfer is complete, click the FINISH button.

(11) Remove the SD card from the SD card reader.
C. Load the PFD and the MFD boot block version 2.03 as follows:
(1) Disengage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) and the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breakers.
(2) Remove the GDU Supplemental Data SD cards from the bottom slot of the PFD and the MFD units.
(3) Mark the SD Cards PFD or MFD and store them in a safe place for later installation.
NOTE: Failure to remove the GDU Supplemental Data SD Cards before reconfiguration can result in cards that you cannot use.
(4) If installed, remove the electronic checklist SD card from the top slot of the MFD.
(5) Put the SD card with the 006-B0874-00 boot block 2.03 into the upper slot of the MFD.
(6) Put the BAT MASTER switch to the ON position.
(7) Put the AVIONICS MASTER switches to the ON position.
(8) If you have a ground power unit connected to the airplane, put the STDBY BATT switch to ARM.
(9) Push and hold the ENT key on the MFD and engage the MFD (AVN BUS2) circuit breaker.
(10) Release the ENT key when the message that follows shows on the MFD:
INITIALIZING SYSTEM
(11) Push the YES soft key when the message that follows shows on the MFD:
DO YOU WANT TO UPDATE THE BOOT BLOCK FROM 2.02 TO 2.03? NO WILL BE ASSUMED IN 30 SECONDS.
(12) When the screen shows the SYSTEM STATUS page, the boot block installation is complete.
(13) Disengage the MFD (AVN BUS2) circuit breaker and remove the SD card from the MFD slot and put it into the PFD upper SD card slot.
(14) Push and hold the ENT key on the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) circuit breakers.
(15) Release the ENT key when the message INITIALIZING SYSTEM shows on the PFD.
(16) Push the YES soft key when the message that follows shows on the PFD:
DO YOU WANT TO UPDATE THE BOOT BLOCK FROM 2.02 TO 2.03? NO WILL BE ASSUMED IN 30 SECONDS.
(17) The boot block installation is complete when the screen shows the SYSTEM STATUS page.
(18) Disengage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) circuit breaker and remove the SD card from the PFD slot.
(19) Put the AVIONICS BUS 1 and BUS 2 switches, MASTER BAT switch, and STDBY BATT switch to the off position and let the system power down.
5. Do the NAV III (G1000) software / configuration procedures that follow:
A. Use the new Cessna NAV III Installation software CD shown in Table 1 and update the SD Card for the correct model airplane:

(1) Insert the new Cessna NAV III Installation software CD into the CD drive of your computer.
(2) Right mouse click on the START button on the lower left corner of the computer screen and click on EXPLORE.
(3) Locate the CD drive with the CD in it on your computer and double click it to open the CD file.
(4) Double click on file labeled 006-B0563-14_OA.exe.
(5) When the window opens, click the SETUP button.
(6) Install a blank SD Card into the SD Card reader and click the NEXT button.
NOTE: SanDisk, Toshiba, and STEC are the three card brands that are recommended by Garmin for use in their G1000 system.
(7) The next window will ask for your SD Card reader location. Click the location of the SD Card Reader. Click the NEXT button.
(8) Click the NEXT button when the window opens.
NOTE: Any information on the SD Card will be erased.
(9) The software will begin to transfer from the CD to the SD Card.
(10) When the data has been transferred to the SD Card, click the FINISH button.
(11) Remove the SD Card from the SD Card Reader.
(12) Remove the CD from the computer and install it in the Nav III/Garmin Software sleeve in the Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH).
B. Load the GDU (PFD1 and MFD) Software as follows:
(1) Make sure that the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) and the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breakers are disengaged.
(2) If not previously done, remove the GDU Supplemental Data SD Cards from the bottom slot of both PFD and MFD units.
(a) Mark the SD Cards PFD or MFD and store them in a safe place for later installation.
NOTE: Failure to remove the GDU Supplemental Database SD Cards before reconfiguration can result in cards that you cannot use.
(3) Remove the electronic checklist SD card from the top slot of the MFD as applicable.
(4) Put the SD Card with the 006-B0563-14 Cessna NAV III Installation Software into the upper slot of the MFD.
(5) Put the BAT MASTER switch to the ON position.
(6) Put the AVIONICS MASTER switches to the ON position.
(7) If you have a ground power unit connected to the airplane, put the STDBY BATT switch to ARM.
(8) Push and hold the ENT key on the MFD and engage the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breaker.
(9) Release the ENT key when the message that follows shows on the MFD.

(10) Push the YES soft key to upload GDU system files when the messages that follows shows:

(13) Disengage the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breaker.
(14) Remove the SD Card from the MFD slot.
(15) Push and hold the ENT key on the MFD and engage the MFD (AVN BUS 2) circuit breaker.
(16) Release the ENT key when the message that follows shows on the MFD:

(17) Put the SD Card into the PFD upper SD Card slot.
(18) Push and hold the ENT key on the PFD and engage the PFD (ESS BUS and AVN BUS 1) circuit breakers.
(19) Do Steps 5B(9) thru 5B(11) again for the PFD.
(20) The PFD will start in the configuration mode when you complete the update. Do not remove the power from the PFD. Keep the SD Card in the upper slot of the PFD.
C. Do the initial G1000 software and configuration upload:
(1) Turn the small FMS knob on the PFD to go to the system group SYSTEM UPLOAD page.
(2) Push the small FMS knob on the PFD to start the cursor.
(3) Turn the small FMS knob to highlight the applicable airplane model and push the ENT key.
NOTE: If you select the incorrect model, a message will show with the current aircraft type and the aircraft model that you selected. You must then select NO, push the ENT key, and do Step 5C(3) again to correct the airplane model.
(4) Load the full configuration software upgrade as follows:
(a) Make sure that the applicable file from Table 2, 3, or 4 is selected for the rest of this upgrade.

(5) (Refer to Table 2, 3, or 4.) Turn the small FMS knob to expand the FILE pull down menu field and highlight the Cessna applicable model airplane 006-B0563-14 Full Configuration (WAAS or non WAAS, as applicable).
(6) Push the ENT key.
(a) If a GDL69A is installed on your airplane, go to Step 5C(7). If a GDL69A is not installed on your airplane, go to Step 5C(6)(b).
(b) Turn the small FMS knob to scroll to the GDL SOFTWARE check box.
(c) Push the ENT button to deselect the GDL SOFTWARE check box.
(d) Turn the small FMS knob to scroll to the GDL CONFIGURATION check box.
(e) Push the ENT button to deselect the GDL CONFIGURATION check box.
(7) Push the LOAD soft key to install the software and configuration settings.
(8) Monitor the upload status. When the Upload Complete message is shown, push the ENT key to select OK.
NOTE: This can take up to 60 minutes.
(9) If a software or configuration upload shows a failure, the software upload process will stop, and you must do the software upload procedure again. Do Steps 5C(7) thru 5C(9) again as necessary up to a total of five times until you successfully complete the configuration upload. If after five times the software configuration fails, correct the hardware failure and start the configuration upload again.
(10) For airplanes equipped with additional items as shown in Tables 2, 3, or 4, do the necessary uploads as follows:
(a) Turn the large FMS knob counterclockwise to go to the FILE menu.
(b) Turn the small FMS knob to expand the FILE pull down menu field and highlight one of the Cessna Nav III software uploads that is applicable for your airplane.
(c) Push the ENT key.
(d) Push the LOAD soft key to install the software.
(e) Monitor the upload status. When the Upload Complete message is shown, push the ENT key to select OK.
(f) If a software or configuration upload shows a failure, the software upload process will stop, and you must do the software upload procedure again. Do Steps 5C(10)(d) thru 5C(10)(f) again as necessary up to a total of five times until you successfully complete the configuration upload. If after five times the software configuration fails, correct the hardware failure and start the configuration upload again.
(g) Do Steps 5C(10)(a) thru 5C(10)(g) again until all applicable software uploads are complete.

1 Push the small FMS knob to start the cursor.
2 Turn the large FMS knob to highlight the ADDRESS field.
3 Enter the airplane registration number or hexadecimal number.
NOTE: Turn the small FMS knob to change the letters and numbers and the large FMS knob to move to the next number or letter in the sequence.
4 Push the ENT key to configure the transponder to the new airplane registration number or hexadecimal number.

(2) In the OTHER LRUS PRESENT field, find the GDL69. On airplanes equipped with GDL69 the GDL69 box in the OTHER LRUS PRESENT field must be green. On airplanes not equipped with GDL69, the GDL69 box in the OTHER LRUS PRESENT field must be black.
(a) If the GDL69 box is configured correctly for your airplane, go to Step 5F.
(b) If the GDL69 box is not configured correctly, do as follows:
1 Push the small FMS knob to start the cursor and highlight the GDL69 in the OTHER LRUS PRESENT field.
2 Push the ENT key to change the color of the box to the correct color for your airplane (green for airplanes equipped with GDL69 and black for airplanes not equipped with GDL69).
3 Push the small FMS knob to stop the cursor.
F. (For airplanes that are equipped with the CO Guardian) Do the CO Guardian configuration:

(4) In the RS-232 field, make sure that the CHNL 4 box is green and shows CO GUARDIAN in all of the columns.
(a) If the CHNL 4 box is green and shows CO GUARDIAN in all of the columns, push the small FMS knob to stop the cursor and go to Step 5G.
(b) If the CHNL 4 box is not green or does not show CO GUARDIAN in all of the columns, do as follows:
1 Push the small FMS knob to stop the cursor.

9. Make sure that no G1000 system messages, alerts, annunciation, or Red X's are shown on the PFD or the MFD on the AUX-SYSTEM STATUS page.
NOTE: Reference Garmin Line Maintenance Manual 190-00352-00 Revision N (or later revision) for troubleshooting instructions.
10. Put the AVIONICS and BAT MASTER switches in the off position.
11. Make sure that the STDBY BATT is in the off position.
12. Remove external power receptacle.
13. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service bulletin.
14. (For airplanes equipped with TAWS-B) Do the enablement of Garmin G1000 Terrain Awareness Warning System Class-B (TAWS-B), SB06-34-03 Revision 1 or later revision.
15. (For airplanes equipped with Chartview) Do the Garmin G1000 NAV III Avionics Chartview Option, SB07-34-01 Revision 1 or later.
NOTE: Airplanes equipped with 010-00330-43 GDU Supplemental Database SD Cards will do the same procedures as 010-00330-42 cards described in SB07-34-01 Revision 1 or later.
16. (For airplanes equipped with Garmin Synthetic Vision Technology) Do the enablement of Garmin G1000 Synthetic Vision Installation, SB09-34-07 (or latest revision).
17. (For airplanes equipped with Garmin Search and Rescue) Do the Garmin G1000 Search and Rescue Enablement, SB07-34-05 (or latest revision).

Dear Cessna Owner:
This Owner Advisory is to inform you of a software upgrade for the Garmin G1000 System as provided in Service Bulletin SB09-34-05: Garmin G1000 System Software Upgrade to Version 563.14 for airplanes equipped with NAV III and GFC 700 AFCS Autopilot. The software upgrade includes the following changes:
• Garmin GFC-700 Pitch Trim Monitor Improvement: Removed a possible condition that would cause a Pitch Trim Failure when operating aircraft flaps while the GFC-700 is automatically trimming the aircraft.
• WAAS System Updates: Several GPS/WAAS system updates were implemented to improve the WAAS system using the GIA-63W. Supports removal of GPS-WAAS G1000 limitations.
• Fuel Level Sensor Updates: Implemented the support of CAN Bus Fuel Level Sensors and other fuel calibration page updates.
• CO Detector Interface: To ensure communication is re-established between the CO Guardian and the GIA-63(W).
• Resolution for Garmin Service Alert No. 0811: Implemented fix in GDU 9.02 to resolve Garmin Service Alert issue.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0816B: Implemented fix in GDU 9.02 to resolve software handling of the issue transmitted in No.: 0816B.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0831A: Implemented in GDU 9.00 and 9.01 to resolve the software issue transmitted in Garmin Service Advisory No. 0831A.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0908: Implemented in GDU 9.02 to resolve the software issue transmitted in Garmin Service Advisory No. 0908 related to the DME system.

• Load Optional Airway Waypoints: Update which allows all airway waypoints (including optional waypoints) to be loaded when an airway segment is added to a flight plan.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No. 0745: Software fix removing the possible issue related to the selection of a CDI scale setting of 0.3 nm preventing WAAS vertical deviation from being displayed.
• NAVAID Frequency Loading: A software update which will automatically load the approach navaid frequency when an approach is loaded from a flight plan.
• Enhancement to Add Display of TOPO and NEXRAD Simultaneously: Allows both TOPO and NEXRAD data to be displayed on maps at the same time.
• Standard Baro Display Enhancement: Improved the precision of the Standard Barometric value (more than just 29.92), and now displays this value when selected by using the PFD1 soft key STD BARO as ‘STD BARO’ in the baro setting window on the Altitude Tape.
• PFD Inset Map Display of TRFC-2: Added the ability to display a traffic only inset map display on the PFD; known as TRFC-2.
• Canadian XM Weather Support: Added the support of Canadian NexRad Weather Data, METAR, TAF and Winds/Temp Aloft display when XM Weather Data is available.
• TAS System Update: Updated the TAS softkey and user interface to utilize a STANDBY and NORMAL softkey operation.
• GPS Status on the AUX – GPS STATUS Page: Updated the GPS STATUS page to indicate GPS Fix, Signal Strength, Position Calculation Status, and Tracking.
• Hotspot Display: Added the display of hotspot information from the SafeTaxi database; geo-referenced overlaying the existing airport diagram and moving map.
• Map Pointer to Highlight Airways: Added the ability to highlight an Airway using the Map cursor/pointer to display the Minimum Enroute Altitude (MEA) and the Leg Distance.
• TAWS Flight Phase Transition Criteria: Modified the TAWS flight phase transition criteria to account for airports that are within close proximity of one another as to reduce TAWS nuisance alerts when entering and leaving the Departure and Approach phases of flight.
• Altitude Tape Limit: Extended the Altitude Tape lower limit from -1000 ft to -2000 ft to ease the testing of the Air Data Computer by Maintenance Personnel (reference FAR 91.411).
• High Side Current Monitor: Added High Side Current Monitor (HSCM) Calibration Page, reference the Garmin Line Maintenance Manual for additional details. Not a pilot interface change, ground use only item.
• HSDB Data Bus Resolution: Garmin fix to an issue introduced in GDU 8.20 that might suspend HSDB communication on a single Ethernet port for one minute.
• Resolution for Garmin Service Advisory No.: 0838: GPS/WAAS issue that involves a potential reset of the GPS/WAAS receiver when operating in specific northern latitudes.
Compliance is mandatory: shall be accomplished within the next 6 months or 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.
NOTE: For airplanes affected by Cessna Service Bulletin SB07-34-02 Revision 1 (Garmin G1000 System Software Upgrade to Version 563.03), SB07-34-02 Revision 1, if not already accomplished, must be accomplished before installation of the 563.14 software.
NOTE: Existing Garmin software backup CDs should be destroyed and discarded to eliminate the possibility of loading the incorrect software at a later date.
The information contained in the referenced Cessna Service Bulletin shall be considered an amendment to the Cessna Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manual or Instructions for continued airworthiness, and must be accomplished for ongoing airworthiness compliance as required per CFR Part 43.13.

Credit Information
For airplanes in warranty:
A labor allowance credit of 2.0 man-hours per airplane will be provided to load the software upgrade.
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.1 man-hour will be provided to load each one of the applicable configuration uploads for airplanes equipped with the following: CO Guardian, Honeywell Traffic Advisory System (TAS), Honeywell Automatic Direction Finder (ADF), Honeywell Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), Comant Antenna, GFC 700 Autopilot, or Fuel CAN BUS Fuel Level Sensors.
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.3 man-hour will be provided to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped win the Garmin G1000 Terrain Awareness System (TAWS-B).
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.4 man-hour will be provided to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with the Garmin G1000 Chartview System.
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.2 man-hour will be provided to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with Garmin G1000 Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT).
If necessary, a labor allowance credit of 0.3 man-hour will be provided to do the applicable configuration upload for airplanes equipped with Garmin G1000 Search and Rescue.
To receive credit, the work must be completed and a Warranty Claim submitted by a Cessna Single Engine Service Station within 30 calendar days of Service Bulletin compliance before the credit expiration dates shown below.

The Garmin G1000 Cockpit Reference Guide for Cessna NAV III, Part Number 190-00384-09 Rev A (or latest revision) and the applicable airplane model Cessna Garmin NAV III Installation Software CD are enclosed. The Cessna Service Stations will need to utilize the enclosed CD when accomplishing this software upgrade on your airplane. When not in use, the CD should be stored in the Pilot's Operating Handbook sleeve for the NAV III Garmin Software.
NOTE: For U.S. registered owners of record only: a Garmin Cockpit Reference Guide will not be sent to Duplicate Owner Advisory addresses, it will only be sent to the address as registered with the FAA.
