Phone OperationThe phone will normally operate in PSTN mode. The phone will automatically switch over to the mobile network in the event of a faulty PSTN line. The fault will also be displayed on the LCD display.

Additional Useful information:In normal PSTN operating mode, calls cannot be made or received using the Mobile number.

Phone close to a conveniently located wall power outlet and the telephone socket. Make sure that it is at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference. Placing your Phone close to a window in poor mobile coverage areas will improve performance when connected to the mobile network. The signal strength indicator on the LCD display can be used to ensure there is suf�cient mobile coverage.

Back-Up Battery Your battery will come pre-connected with the phone and gives you up to 8 hours of back-up in the event of a power outage. In the event a battery needs to be installed or removed:

1. Open the battery compartment and connect the supplied battery pack 2. Once connected, close the battery compartment 3. The LCD screen on the phone will then light up

If an invalid battery has been inserted into the phone, a Check Battery warning will appear on the home screen (until the battery has been disconnected).

Wall mounting

Note:

Your phone will come ready to be placed on a table, but converts easily for wall mounting as follows:

1. Turn the phone so that base faces up (notches point downward).

2. Remove the detachable base bracket.

3. Rotate base bracket 180 degrees, so that wedge is now at the base of phone. Place it back onto the phone unit and click in place (notches point upward).

Power Up the Phone Date and Time After powering on the handset, there will be an alert to set the date and time. Press OK

Making and receiving calls

• Your phone will automatically time the duration of all external calls, the call timer will display on the screen. When the call ends, the total duration of your talk time is shown for 1 second.

Switch the Phone on / off 1. To power the phone off, switch the power point off then remove the power cord from the phone and unplug the battery.

2. To power the phone on, plug the power cord into the handset, then plug the opposite end into the power point, and reconnect the battery.

Calls To make a call on your phone:

1. Press HANDSFREE or pick up the handset 2. Dial the number 3. If in

Make a call using SPEED DIAL keys

Receive a call When you receive an external call, the phone rings, the line information and the phone number (or name if stored in the phonebook) is displayed.

1. Pick up the handset or press HANDSFREE to answer the call.

End a Call To End a call, replace the handset onto its base.

Missed Calls If you have missed a call on your phone, “1 new call" message is displayed on your home screen.

• To view the last missed call, press the CALLS LIST key. • The last missed call is displayed on the screen. •

To return the call, simply press the HANDSFREE key on the phone or lift the handset from its base.

Pressing the CALLS LIST Key will clear the Missed Call alert from your home screen display. A Missed Call will only be displayed on your phone if it is connected to the Fixednetwork.

Adjust the earpiece or hands-free volume Pick up the handset (or during a call) press <+ or -> on the volume key to increase and to decrease the volume level. There are 5 levels to choose from, volumes 1-5.

Adjust the ringer volume You can adjust the ringer volume on the phone to the desired level.

• In standby, press VOL.+ or VOL.- to select the desired volume level. • While the phone is ringing, press VOL.+ or VOL.- to select the desired volume level. • To switch off the ring tone, press and hold * for 2 seconds until the con�rmation tone

or ringer off icon is displayed on screen. • To switch on the ring tone, press and hold * for 2 seconds again until the

con�rmation tone or ringer on icon is displayed on screen.

Mute 1. During a call, press the mute key to mute. 2. To turn mute off, press mute key again to unmute.

Phonebook / Contacts Store a contact (up to 200)

1. Press the phonebook key on your phone keypad. 2. Press Options. Add new contact is displayed, press OK. 3. Enter the new contact name using the keypad then press Next. 4. Enter the phone number and press SAVE when you’ve �nished. The display will show

Press and Hold the '0' key to insert a dialling pause during entry of the phone Number (the letter P is shown). Press '#' during entry of the Name to change alpha/numeric or upper/lower case.

View/dial a contact 1. From the idle screen, with the handset down, press phonebook key to open your

contact list. 2. Press (up or down arrow) and to scroll through and view the entries. 3. When you have found the contact you wish to call, lift the handset to connect the call.

CALLS LIST To get the most out of the features on your new phone, you should subscribe to a Caller Display service. Your network provider may charge you for this service.

View and dial from the CALLS LIST 1. With the handset down, press CALLS LIST. The most recent entry is at the top of the

list. (If there are no entries CALLS LIST empty will be displayed) 2. Press up or down arrow to scroll through and view the list. 3. To dial, press HANDSFREE or lift the handset when the entry you want is displayed on

the screen. SAVE a CALLS LIST entry to your contacts

1. Press CALLS LIST, then press up or down arrow keys to highlight the entry you want to SAVE and select Options.

2. SAVE number is displayed, press OK. 3. Enter the name of the new contact and press Next.

4. The number you wish to SAVE is displayed. Press SAVE to add as a contact.

Date and Time Date and Time

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. ‘clock’ is selected, press ok 3. Scroll to set time & date, press ok 4. Set time using the keypad, and press next. (Set time in 24H00 format)5. Set date using the keypad. Press SAVE when �nished.

Choose a time format You can use 24 hour or 12 hour format to display the time on your phone. To set your preference: 1. Press the MENU softkey 2. ‘clock’ is selected, press ok 3. scroll through to Time Format and press OK. 4. Use the up or down arrow keys to choose 12 hour or 24 hour time format. Press Ok.

Set the Alarm You can set an alarm on your phone.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. ‘clock’ is selected, press ok. 3. Alarm is highlighted, select OK. 4. Using the up and down arrow keys, select the desired alarm status ( Off / On Once /

On Daily / Monday to Friday / Saturday and Sunday) and select OK. 5. Enter the time in 24H format and select SAVE, now select a melody using the up/down

arrows and press OK.

• If the alarm is set to Once, the alarm icon will disappear from the screen after the alarm has sounded once.

• If the alarm is set to Daily, the alarm icon will remain on the screen after the alarm has sounded.

• When the alarm rings, press snooze or stop or replace the handset to stop the ring.

Call Features Add a SPEED DIAL number

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SPEED DIAL List and press OK. 3. Empty will be displayed if there is no number stored, press Add. 4. Enter the number and press SAVE.

Note: Press and hold [0] to insert a Pause into a number, the letter P will be displayed. The Pause function allows the phone to pause after the initial number dialed and then deliver the rest of the telephone number (eg pressing '9" to get access to dial out)

Edit a SPEED DIAL number 1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SPEED DIAL List and press OK. 3. Scroll to select the key (SPEED DIAL 1,2,3 etc) where you want to edit or delete a number,

press Options. 4. Edit SPEED DIAL is displayed. Press OK.

5. Clear the number, then Enter the number and press SAVE. 6. Press YES to con�rm.

Delete a SPEED DIAL number 1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SPEED DIAL List and press OK. 3. Scroll to select the key (SPEED DIAL 1,2,3 etc) where you want to edit the number,

press Options. 4. Scroll to Delete SPEED DIAL and Press OK 5. Press YES to con�rm.

Handset SETTINGS Sound Ringer Tone Different ringer melodies on the phone can be set. Choose from 15 different ringer melodies. While scrolling a sample ring will be heard for each melody.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Select RINGERTONE and press OK 4. Choose desired ringtone from Melody 1 to 15 and press OK.

Ringer Volume The ring volume can be set to different volume levels. Choose from 5 volume levels or Off.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to RINGER VOLUME and press OK 4. Choose desired Volume Level and press OK.

Keypad Tone When you press a key on the phone, you will hear a tone. You can switch this tone on or off.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to KEYPAD TONES and press OK 4. Choose TONES OFF or TONES ON and press OK.

Con�rmation Tone When you complete an action within the phone MENU, you will hear a tone con�rmation. You can switch this tone on or off.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to CONFIRMATION TONE and press OK 4. Choose TONES OFF or TONES ON and press OK.

Battery Tone When the battery is running low, you will hear a tone/alert on the phone. You can switch this tone on or off.

2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to BATTERY TONES and press OK 4. Choose TONES OFF or TONES ON and press OK.

Display Contrast You can set the display contrast on the Phone screen.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to DISPLAY CONTRAST and press OK 4. Choose desired Contrast Level (Level 1 to 5) and press OK.

Software Version To view the software version of your phone:

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to SOFTWARE VERSION to view Software details.

4G Module SETTINGS You can access your 4G Module SETTINGS on your phone. IMEI

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to 4G Module Setting and press OK 4. IMEI is displayed. Press OK to view IMEI details.

APN Caution should be exercised before changing your APN settings at this might prevent the phone from operating on the Telstra network. The option may not always be available.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to 4G MODULE SETTING and press OK 4. Scroll to APN and press OK 5. IMS is displayed. Press OPTIONS 6. Select desired option and follow the on-screen prompts.

FW VERSION 1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to SETTINGS and press OK. 3. Scroll to 4G MODULE SETTING and press OK 4. Scroll to FW VERSION to view FW details.

Firmware Upgrade Before doing any �rmware upgrade, ensure the TPA is connected to an AC wall outlet. NOTE: No calls can be made during the �rmware update process.

4. INSERT DC power is Displayed. Ensure DC power is connected, then press YES. 5. UPGRADE FW is displayed, press YES and follow the on-screen prompts.

CALLING FEATURES Voice Assistant To access Voice assistant on your phone (in �xed mode only)

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Voice Assistant is displayed. Press OK to activate Voice Assistant.

CALL FORWARD You can setup CALL FORWARD on your phone on the PSTN line so it diverts to another number of your choice: CALL FORWARD Immediately Choose this if you want your phone to divert to a number without ringing.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Scroll to CALL FORWARD and press OK 4. CALL FWD IMMED is displayed. Press OK. 5.

Press Options if you wish to divert the number from your contacts or CALLS LIST. You can check the CALL FORWARD status at any time by selecting Check Status from the same MENU. To cancel the CALL FORWARD, select Cancel from the same MENU

CALL FORWARD Busy Choose this if you want your phone to divert to a number when your phone is busy.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Scroll to CALL FORWARD and press OK 4. Scroll to CALL FWD BUSY and press OK. 5. SETUP

CALL FORWARD No Answer Choose this if you want your phone to divert to a number if your phone is not answered before timing out.

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Scroll to CALL FORWARD and press OK 4. Scroll to CALL FWD NO ANS and press OK. 5. SELECT SETUP is displayed, enter the number you wish to forward to and press

SETUP.

Press Options if you wish to divert the number from your contacts or CALLS LIST. You can check the CALL FORWARD status at any time by selecting Check Status from the same MENU. To cancel the CALL FORWARD, select Cancel from the same MENU

Cancel Call Back To Cancel Call Back on your phone:

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Select CANCEL CALL BACK to activate cancellation.

Call Waiting Choose this if you want your phone to alert you when someone is calling you whilst you on another call

1. Press the MENU softkey 2. Scroll to CALLING FEATURES and press OK. 3. Scroll to CALL WAITING and press OK 4. Select the desired Call Waiting Option (Turn CW on or Turn CW off) and press OK.

You can check the Call Waiting status at any time by selecting CW status from the same MENU.

Help Emergency Mobile back-up

• The phone provides mobile back-up coverage in the event of the PSTN line not being available or a line fault. The phone will automatically detect problems with the PSTN line and switch over to mobile coverage. In the event of a PSTN line fault the LCD display will show “Line Fault Call 132200”. You should call Telstra to report the fault.

Can’t make or receive calls Check that the mains power is correctly connected. Check that product call barring is not active.

Appendix Care

Your telephone is a sophisticated product in terms of design and construction, and should therefore be handled with care. To clean the telephone, wipe �rst with an anti-static cloth or a damp, soft leather cloth and then dry using a dry cloth.

Warranty conditions Your Telstra Priority Handset (TPA) phone comes with a manufacturer’s warranty of 24 months from the date of purchase. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
