Councilman Turk stated the Public Service Committee met in the Planning Conference Room and reviewed the contracts, change orders, pay estimates, and final payments and found them all to be in order and recommended their approval. Councilman Turk stated the committee received the Illinois Department of Transportation’s schedule of projects planned for the next five years. He stated IDOT will be working on I-55 and US 30 in 2014.

A. COUNCIL MEMO #206-13: Request for Approval of a Section 5-83 Permit for the Electric Daisy Carnival Event at the Chicagoland Speedway on May 24th through 26th and Approval of Event Services Agreement

Mr. Simon Rust Lamb, CEO - Insomniac, Inc., addressed the Mayor and Council with a presentation explaining the Electric Daisy Carnival Event at the Chicagoland Speedway.

Police Chief Trafton addressed the Mayor and City Council concerning the security requirements for this event. Chief Trafton stated they spoke with the Las Vegas' Police Department since this is the group's largest event location. He stated they feel confident in the plan put in place.

Captain Tab Jensen addressed the Mayor and Council concerning their visit with Insomniac, Inc. and the Las Vegas Police Department.

Fire Deputy Chief Randich addressed the Mayor and Council concerning the Joliet Fire Department's plans for the Electric Daisy Carnival. A communication from the City Manager contained his recommendation that the City Council approve the issuance of a permit pursuant to Section 5-83 of the Cod of Ordinances and approve the Event Services Agreement.

Deputy Liquor Commissioner Jim Murphy explained Council Memo #207-13: Issuance of a Class "C" License at the southwest corner of Route 53 and Laraway Road - Route 66 Liquors, LLC.

A communication from the Liquor Commissioner regarding the application of Rte. 66 Liquors, LLC. (Lenoard McEnery) d/b/a Rte. 66 Liquors for the issuance of a Class “C” Liquor License (Package) at the southwest corner of Route 53 and Laraway Road - Route 66 Liquors, LLC. contained his recommendation that the issuance of this license is in the best interest of the City, and therefore, approval is recommended.
