After inauguration of the function Dr. Jagganath Patil delivered key note address
on “Need for the audit in the institute processes”. At the beginning Dr. Patil
discussed the present scenario/situation of the education and all other processes in
India. Then he talked about how various institutes can help the students and in turn
society, to improve the quality of different processes as well as education. Dr. Patil
added quality is all about values and ethics. Everyone has to focus on the
improvement of these aspects.
He talked about the need of improvement of quality and then discussed
motives of establishment of NAAC. According to him ranking is important and
NAAC provides that opportunity. He made awareness of functions of NAAC
amongst audience and the present situation of NAAC accreditation. Further Dr.
Patil explained the necessity of establishing IQAC in the institute and also
explained the major responsibilities of IQAC in improving quality in education.
There should be at least four meetings of IQAC to be conducted in a year where all
quality aspects should be discussed and solutions should be found. He says audit is
a continuous qualitative improvement. He then advised all participants to establish
audit system in the institute under IQAC. He suggested following things for
establishing audit system:
1. Internal senior/experienced faculty members are to be identified as audit
members and establish internal audit team.
2. Audit members should have a meeting for deciding audit parameters.
3. Internal audits should be carried out regularly or as per the time schedule of
the institute.

Q. 5 Food/accommodation facility was good
Comments and Suggestions from Participants:
1. Students can also be involved in the seminar.
2. The papers for audits would have invited. It could be more beneficial for participants.
3. Information provided by all resource persons was really good and beneficial. However it
could be more practical based.
4. Seminar should be arranged for combined efforts of IQAC and audits. So participant can
understand the complete role of IQAC.
5. Elaboration of role of IQAC was missing may be due to seminar was on audits.
6. Came to know few important aspects of audit.
7. Thank you for providing administrative audit information along with academic audit as it
was completely underestimated.
Action points after seminar:
1. At the institute level audit members will conduct a meeting and they revise and finalize
all aspects of internal audits.
2. As institute is in the process of conducting external audit also, this team will finalize the
parameters for external audits and conduct it soon.
3. Studying the combined aspects of IQAC and audits, IQAC team will prepare and submit
next proposal to NAAC for Two day National Seminar.
4. As per the suggestions by participants, in next Two day Seminar, papers will be invited
and those will be given opportunity to interact with the audience.
Thank You
