CSA N285.0-08 and update no. 2 standard reference takes precedence over any other standard edition specified in documents, e.g. drawings, technical specification, etc., referenced in the purchase order. In addition to the requirements of ASME Section III, Subsection NCA 4000, the supplier’s quality program shall meet the requirements of CSA Z299.2-85 or the alternate quality assurance program and requirements specified in the Ontario Power Generation purchase order. Note: For CSA Z299.2 QA requirements the manufacturer shall prepare the Inspection and Test Plan (I&TP) document as part of the QA program requirements. A copy of the I&TP, signed by the authorized QA representative as a minimum, shall be submitted to OPG with shipment. However, OPG review and acceptance of the I&TP prior to proceeding with fabrication is only required when specified by the “Inspection and Test Plan Submission Requirement” clause “QA-I&TP” specified elsewhere in the Contract Purchase Order. COMPONENT IDENTIFICATION ASME Section III registered components shall be individually identified in accordance with ASME Section III, NCA 8000, and the component specification. Except as required by the purchase order, items defined by code as “small Product”, and other products where the largest space available for marking is less than 1” in any direction, do not require each individual piece to be identified with the markings. Small product shall be identified on packages and containers with clear identification of the material they contain in accordance with CSA N285.0-08 and update no. 2 and be traceable to its CMTR or C of C. In addition, all individual cartons/packages are to be identified with: 1. Manufacturer’s part number 2. Ontario Power Generation purchase order number 3. Ontario Power Generation Catalog ID. Any additional marking requirements, when identified in the purchase order, shall also be met. Identification markings and tagging shall be clear, unambiguous, indelible, and shall be applied using approved materials and in a manner not to affect the function or service life of the components. NO COMPONENT SUBSTITUTIONS All components furnished shall be new unless specified otherwise in the purchase order. The supplier shall not substitute used, refurbished, or alternate parts, or deviate from the requirements listed in the purchase order without prior written engineering approval from Ontario Power Generation.

CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMANCE A Certificate of Conformance is required. Failure to provide one with complete and accurate information will result in your shipment being put into Quality Hold.

A. Certificate of Conformance (C of C) applicable to Manufacturers: The company shall provide a similar statement on the packing slip or on a separate cover document with the following certification and information:

1. Conformance statement: "The equipment/item/material listed herein has been inspected by the company and is in conformance with the contract requirements and approved for shipment".

2. OPG Purchase order number, 3. OPG Catalogue ID number, 4. Printed name, title and signature of an authorised representative of the company’s quality

assurance authority. B. When the Company is a Distributor, or a Manufacturer acting as a Distributor for product supplied from stock, there are two options:

A manufacturer’s Certificate of Conformance exactly per requirements in “A” noted above and a copy of the manufacturer’s quality program certificate. The manufacturer and exact facility location must be on the Distributor’s supplier list on file with OPG.

or

A Certificate of Conformance from the Distributor exactly per the requirements noted in “A’ above, with the following additions: identify on the C of C who manufactured the product and the QA program implemented by the manufacturer. The manufacturer and exact facility location must be on the Distributor’s supplier list on file with OPG.

Note: the purchase order may have a separate requirement for a Certificate of Compliance (usually pressure boundary material), which is different from the Certificate of Conformance. PACKAGING The material shall be packaged and secured to prevent damage due to shock, vibration, physical damage, water vapor, salt spray, condensation, and weather during shipment and handling. The following requirements shall apply to handling and packaging of all stainless steel materials:

1. Nylon or stainless steel fork protectors and slings must be used when transporting or

hoisting of stainless steel materials, to avoid risk of carbon steel contamination.

SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS Unless specifically stated on the Purchase Order/Contract, the use of Teflon tape as a thread sealant is not permitted for mechanical joints shipped to OPG Nuclear. For approved thread sealants see N-STM-04920-10000, Mechanical Joint Material Selection Guide. Austenitic steels and nickel-based alloys are subject to the following restrictions: Marking materials (such as markers) shall not contain more than 250 micrograms of halogen per gram of material. Items shall be thoroughly cleaned prior to shipment to remove all traces of halides that may cause stress corrosion cracking (e.g. leak detection & liquid penetrant fluids).
