Purus is one of Scandinavia's leading manufacturers in the plumbing industry.

Purus has been producing floor drainage for over 50 years and we are today the leading producer in Scandinavia. We manufacture a range of floor gullies and floor channels marketed under our own brand. Our solutions are made out of high quality stainless steel and are suitable for all types of buildings where floor drains are required and are characterized by reliability, function and design.

We also manufacture bespoke products with various dimensions, materials and load classes.

For our floor channels and floor gullies we have accessories such as filter buckets, sediment traps and water traps. We keep in stock a standard assortment of floor channels up to 2.5 m as well as floor gullies for kitchens and different size industries, with immediate delivery. Both floor channels and floor gullies are available for different floor types.

Technical information

Floor typesFor a safe and functioning installation, it is important that the floor channel/gully is adapted the floor type of the surface. Purus has products for six different types of flooring. In the case of different floor types (e.g. wooden beams), Purus has bespoke solutions.

Concrete flooring

This floor type is the most cost-effective flooring. The concrete can be coloured or sanded. The floor does not have any waterproof membrane and is mainly used in industrial premises.

Resin Flooring

Usually laid on top of concrete flooring to create a floor with the desired properties, e.g. non slippery and/or waterproof. Often used in premises with high cleanliness requirements, for instance professional kitchens, laboratory environments.

Vinyl Flooring

Often used on top of concrete flooring to create a waterproof floor. The vinyl flooring is clamped to the floor gully/channel. This floor type is mostly used in professional kitchens. The floor channel/gully is designed with soft angles to facilitate the installation of the vinyl flooring. It can fit from 1.5 to 4 mm thick vinyl flooring.

Tile flooring with clamping frame

It is used with a waterproof membrane under the tiles, mostly in showers, pool and spa facilities. With this floor solution the waterproof membrane is clamped tight. The tile frame is adapted to a 12 mm tile flooring, but it can be adjusted anytime.

Tile flooring with glueing frange

This floor type is used with a waterproof membrane under the tiles, mostly in showers, pool and spa facilities. With this floor solution the waterproof membrane is glued tight. The tile frame is adapted to a 12 mm tile flooring, but it can be adjusted anytime.

Tile flooring with glueing frange and tile insert

This floor type is used with a waterproof membrane under the tiles, mostly in showers, pool and spa facilities. With this floor solution, the waterproof membrane is glued tight. The tile insert can be used with optional material, e.g. same tiles as the surrounding floor, mosaic, photo tiles, teak, etc., to create an atmosphere in the bathroom. The tile frame is adapted to a 12 mm tile flooring, but it can be adjusted anytime.

Flow capacity*

If the product is exposed to water flows for long periods of time, e.g. rinsing/car washing, it is important that the chosen flow capacity can contain and evacuate the water.

Volume

Will the product be exposed to large volumes of liquid on short periods of time? Then it is important that the floor channel/gully can receive such a large volume to avoid splashes and to avoid that the drain overflows.

Size

Length x width in mm. The channels/gullies dimensions indicated in the tables, e.g. 600x100, are the sizes of the grating i.e. the opening dimensions. The outer dimension are specified in the tables. The total height (H) is the addition of the floor channel (H1) and the gully’s height (H2).

Position of the outlet on the channelThere are two options for the position of the outlet, deep-end or mid-channel. The mid-channel setup has a slightly lower height. The channels have an inbuilt fall to the outlet. The outlet is available with bottom or side connection measuring Ø50, Ø75 or Ø110mm, and several options of water traps and filter buckets. The channel 100 is even available with a plastic outlet.

Mesh/GratingThe grating is selected depending on the environment where the product will be used and the load to which the product is exposed.

Grating in load class K3 are available with different patterns and adapted to bare-foot usage. They are mostly used when the products are exposed to pedestrian traffic.

Mesh grating has anti-slip protection and exists in two different load classes, L15* and M125*.

Water trapThe water trap is selected based on the environment where the product will be used. Do you want high flow and no bad smells? The products can be set without water traps, this option is called untrapped. The water trap can easily be mounted retrospectively.

The NOOD water trap is especially suitable in environments with low water consumption or where unused for long periods. NOOD is a Purus invention and is a combination of water trap and mechanical odour trap to give a double protection. The water trap gives efficient protection against backwater, bad smells and vermin. The spring-loaded bowl always seals against the top part of the water trap. Purus has a few different water traps to choose from.

AccessoriesFilter bucket/Hair strainer

This product is designed to collect particles bigger than 5 mm, e.g. leaves, that would fill up the water trap otherwise. Take out to empty and reinstall.

Sediment trap

Designed to collect smaller particles heavier than water, e.g. sand and gravel. These particles are collected in sediment trap during the normal flow. This product is often used in connection with scrubber machines, car wash and stainless steel work benches.

Anchor brackets

The products are equipped with anchor brackets for an easy fixation in the joists, use Purus support legs or binding wire before casting.

Purus support leg

Purus support leg is a tool to adjust the floor channel/gully when casted in concrete joists. Purus support legs have an easy and stable construction.

MaterialStainless – Our products are made of stainless steel EN 1.4301 or acid resistant stainless steel EN 1.4404. After welding, the welded joints can be subject to corrosion, therefore all Purus stainless steel products are pickled. Pickling is the process of cleaning the welding joints to make them stainless again. Some products such as gratings are instead electropolished which results to a smooth and glossy surface.

The water trap is formed by about 50 mm water at the bottom of the gully, which is equipped with a cleaning plug. The gully requires an almost continuous flow for optimal functions. The remaining water makes the industrial gully inappropriate for environments with high hygiene requirements such as grocery stores.

Lint separator

Dimension

The lint separator is designed with a strainer to collect lint from the outlet of washing machines and reduce risks of clogging the water-trap/gully.It is specially designed to store large volumes pumped out from the washing machines and thereby get an even flow into the gully. Without flooding risks.The strainer can be placed as desired in the separator in order to receive the wastewater. It is designed with openings to collect particles bigger than 5 mm. It is easy to clean and easy to setup. The lint separator is used in laundries and delivered with feet.
