The craftsmanship of every VT countertop

is impeccable. Our standard 45-lb. industrial

particleboard meets all HUD and governmental

specifications, and is American National Standards

Institute (ANSI) approved. Other substrate materials

are available to meet additional requirements,

including environmental specifications. Our PVA

glue line provides the strongest possible bond

between the particleboard and the laminate.

other popular materials. Some laminates are even

textured to look and feel like stone, granite or

formed as a single piece with a rolled front edge

and an integral backsplash, there are no seams to

collect dirt and grime, which means less bacterial

and microbial growth for a cleaner, healthier

surface. And don’t forget that they never need to

be resealed or polished like most stone and solid

surface products.

DEFINITION OF POSTFORmEDPostformed countertops are prefabricated countertops formed as a single piece from the backsplash to the front

edge. Laminate is “wrapped” around the core material — from the curved backsplash, to the cove and then over

the front edge — to provide a seamless surface.

Not only are they low-emitting, but they are

aesthetically appealing and can help your project

earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design

(LEED®) points for your project.

lEED POINTS

At VT Industries we’re constantly adapting our

manufacturing techniques to ensure environmental

responsibility. Consistent with this strategy,

EQcountertops are manufactured using Skyblend™

particleboard, consisting of 100% pre-consumer

recycled wood fiber particleboard made with no

added urea-formaldehyde, contributing to LEED

points for recycled content, regional materials and

low-emitting materials. Skyblend is tinted blue

for easy identification and is as durable as any

substrate product.

lOW EmISSIONS

EQcountertops low-emitting materials contribute

to improved occupant health and quality of life

through improved indoor air. Biodegradable, water-

based adhesives and no added urea-formaldehyde

substrates eliminate harmful Volatile Organic

Compounds (VOCs). In addition, GREENGUARD

certified laminates are used from all major brands,

enhancing EQcountertops ability to provide high

quality indoor air.

Our EQcountertops are thoroughly tested quarterly

for chemical emissions by The GREENGUARD

Environmental Institute (GEI). GEI is an industry-

independent, non-profit organization that

oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program,

establishing acceptable indoor air standards for

indoor products, environments, and buildings.

GREENGUARD certified products meet the

standards of numerous sustainable building

initiatives including - Leadership in Energy and

Environmental Design (LEED), National Association

of Home Builders (NAHB) and Collaborative for
