Major Fields of Interest 1. Ferrocement Composites and Reinforced Concrete

2. Linear and non Linear Analysis of Structures

Using F.E.M. & Computational Plasticity

3. Corrosion resistance and the durability of fibre

reinforced composites

Summary of Research Work Done

Engaged in linear and non-linear analysis of structures for the past thirty four years. During the

first ten years predominantly involved in experimental and analytical investigations on brick

masonry, reinforced brick masonry and reinforced concrete plate and shells. Later started working

on mechanical properties of fibre reinforced concrete especially ferrocement. Response

assessment of ferrocement slabs under dynamic environment and the simulation of mechanical

behaviour in elastic and inelastic regimes using elasto-plasticity in conjunction with a layered

approach employing finite element method with different yield criterion for the different layers

were undertaken. Presently working on the corrosion resistance and the durability of fibre

reinforced composites and nano additive based composites.
