6th Bavarian-Bohemian AOTrauma Symposium –Complex Cases and Complications inTrauma of the SkeletonJune 24, 2016Regensburg, Germany

Stand: 07.04.16/KM

Welcome in Regensburg

Dear Colleagues,

we would like to invite you to the 6th Bavarian-Bohemian AOSymposium 2016 “Complex cases and complications in trauma ofthe skeleton” in Regensburg, Germany.

We have all seen patients, who have injuries that are so complexthat following traditional therapy guidelines does not always lead tosuccessful results. Consequently, the only way for these patients torecover is through creative and experience-based therapy. This kindof therapy is based on the wealth of experience of each surgeonand gives surgeons room to develop creative solutions. It alsorequires accurate planning and professional implementation.Since there is little to no evidence for such cases, we always moveinto a legal gray area. Therefore the sword of Damocles of theprosecutor always influences our decisions.

We would like to create a platform for unconventional andinterdisciplinary solutions in primary or revision surgeries of theskeleton, in order to inspire discussion on this topic with renownedexperts. In this forum you will have the opportunity to demonstrateyour “difficult cases” and present your considerations andapproaches.

Let us share our common experiences, discuss complex patientcases and learn from each other. And let’s talk openly about thecomplications we encounter and our solutions to preserve ourpatients.

More than any other health care field, trauma surgery desperatelyneeds such cooperation, in order to treat patients safely andprofessionally.

We look forward to your participation!
