They provide a range of practical strategies and research based content and are facilitated by experienced relationship educators. Programs are offered in several formats including weekly sessions, short seminars or more intensive blocks of time which are usually conducted on Saturday and/or Sunday. In some cases they can be designed and delivered in an individualised format and customised to suit specific needs. LifeWorks also offers customised seminars for groups and organisations. Program Design and Delivery Concessions and Exemptions: LifeWorks offers concessions and exemptions on program fees for eligible participants. Please contact the Relationship Educator at your branch to discuss further. Observation: Occasionally LifeWorks’ programs are observed as part of staff training. If you have any concerns about an observer in your program, please discuss these with the co-ordinator prior to attending. Cancellation Policy: In the event of a program cancellation, participants will be transferred to the next scheduled date or issued with a refund. If a participant cancels their enrolment more than 7 days prior to the program start date, a transfer or refund (less 20% administration fee) will be organised. Parenting in a Step-FamilyWhat’s different in step-families? With plenty of time made available for discussion and questions, this is an interactive session that explores communication and managing relationships within the step and extended family. Plenty of resources, tips and practical advice on how to blend families are also provided.

Bringing Baby HomeCouples expecting their first baby (or with a newborn under 12 months) can learn what to expect, how to strengthen their relationship, and how to manage the myriad of changes and new experiences associated with bringing their baby home. This research-based program explores topics such as transitioning to parenthood, strengthening your relationship, parenting as a team and “keeping the magic alive”.

Blended Families

Parenting After SeparationThis is a group program that explores how to adapt to parenting following a separation and how to manage challenges such as parenting from a distance, conflict with a former partner and the children’s reactions and responses.

The Parenting After Separation program is offered as day or evening sessions over a five week period or in a weekend block format. Under certain circumstances (determined at an intake interview) the program can also be adapted as one-on-one sessions for some individuals. Please Note: An intake interview and assessment session is required prior to entry into this program.

Separated DadsDesigned to assist separated Dads with the transition to solo parenting, this interactive and supportive program provides practical strategies and the opportunity to meet and share experiences with other fathers in the group.

This practical course explores the triggers of anger, alternative ways of reducing and managing anger and strategies on how to manage responses in a calm and regulated manner. Suitable for parents with children of all ages.

Parenting TeenagersExplore the challenges and joys of parenting teenagers with topics including communication skills, family values, conflict resolution and developing resilience in your teen.

This program is designed to provide insights into adolescent development together with practical tips and strategies on how to provide positive parenting as your teenagers ‘come of age’.
