THE GREAT CENTER 50+ BAKING CLASSES Many of us are smitten with the Netflix series called “The Great British Baking Show” and so with this phenomena we are programing our own version called, The Great Center 50+ Bakers. For the next several months, attend baking classes where you will meet our amateur bakers and learn their excellent baking tips. On our National Night Out Event, Tuesday- August 6th, all bakers will come together for the Center 50+ Baking Extravaganza. Students who attend these monthly classes will be entered into a raffle to win a “Baker’s Basket”.

March class—Our amateur baker for the month of March is Linda, who grew up in the little town of Alberta, Canada. Linda grew up baking with her mom since she was 10 years old and says that “Coming from Canada, our recipes are a little different!” In this class she will demonstrate how to make her Butter Tarts (longtime favorite of staff members) and Peanut Butter Dainties. Along with some tea or coffee, you will be able to taste her lovely “bakes.” Class date: Wednesday, March 13 Class time: 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Class registration fee: $5 Tea fee: $2 required at class. Space is limited.

April class—Kay Parise, our star baker for the month of April says, “I describe myself as a true amateur and the recipe I would like to share in class is one of the favorites of the patrons of the restaurant my husband and I owned. Our baker was fantastic! Luckily she gave me some of her yummies and now I would like to demonstrate how to make her Mud Cake. I hope you enjoy this as much as many others have.” Come enjoy a piece of cake with tea or coffee. Class date: Wednesday, April 10 Class time: 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. Class registration fee: $5. Space is limited. You can also register for baking classes on May 15 and June 12.
