Rogerson Communities has been providing housing and health care for elders and low-income individuals and families since it was founded in 1860. Today, the non-profit organization serves more than 2,000 greater Boston families through 29 facilities and programs. These services include housing, adult day health programs, fitness training, and memory loss care and treatment. As a non-profit, Rogerson must raise private funds to support its properties and programs.

ROGERSON COMMUNITIES

Pioneered adult day health programs, and now serves 350 medically disabled and memory impaired clients annually through these programs.

Offers Rogerson Fitness First — a strength, mobility, balance and flexibility training program where elders use specially designed Nautilus equipment — free of charge to day program participants and residents of affordable housing facilities.

Successfully completed the conversion of eight historic Boston buildings into affordable housing.

Encourages interaction between residents and their neighbors by offering community spaces in Rogerson facilities to the broader community.

Led the way in establishing the service coordinator model for independent elder housing, and also was the region’s first management company to encourage elders to keep pets, a policy which is now used as a national model.

HOUSING & REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENTRogerson develops and manages innovative, affordable housing for elders and working individuals and families, and now has more than 21 residential properties under manage-ment. We work with local communities to reclaim abandoned property, realize complex real estate projects and revitalize neighborhoods.

ALZHEIMER’S AND MEMORY LOSSRogerson is an expert resource for individuals and their families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss.

Rogerson House This stately assisted living home in Jamaica Plain offers a day program, respite care, and educational programs. Rogerson Roslindale Dementia Day This specialized adult day health program offers adults with memory loss an array of therapeutic and health services.Allen House at Springhouse These assisted living units within the Springhouse campus offer people with memory loss secure assisted living.

HEALTH AND FITNESSRogerson is the area’s premier provider of adult day health and fitness programs for frail elders. Our adult day programs and many of our properties offer a state-of- the-art Rogerson Fitness First program designed to keep people healthy, active and engaged in their communities. These services allow older adults to live independently while saving thousands of dollars on nursing home care.
