Global problem
• Worldwide, there are a billion people without access to drinking water and about 2.6 billion people do not use running water and sewerage;
• Every 20 seconds a child dies as a result of poor hygiene. According to the UN every person needs 20-50 liters per day to ensure basic needs for drinking, cooking and cleaning. 3

Project Objectives • To spark our students’ interest in environmental
issues and to make them sensitive to the need for a “sustainable future;
• To develop feelings of European citizenship and raise consciousness about how pollution is a problem that challenges all of Europe;
• To show how regional environmental issues are part of a larger global problem;
• To improve students’ and teachers’ key competences
