    ELECTRONIC BICYCLE LOCK

    ABSTRACT

    A bicycle , also known as a bike , pushbike or cycle , is a pedal-driven, human-

powered, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the

other. In the present days so may people are using bicycle for exercise and/ to save petrol,

    diesel etc.

A bicycle lock is a physical security device used on a bicycle to prevent theft.

Generally on bicycle there is a mechanical lock which is not so good. To recover it we

are implementing Electronic lock system for bicycle.

In this project the electronic bicycle lock described here is a worthwhile alternative

for bicycle owners who want to make their bicycles intelligent at reasonable cost. One

of the benefits of building it yourself is that the circuit can be used for virtually any make

of bicycles. To achieve this project we used resistors, capacitors, zener diode, transistor,

LED, ON/OFF switch, IC UM3561 and a Loudspeaker.

Finally a home-made security loop can be used to link the two input points of

standard RCA sockets which serves as a lock for bicycle.

J2 are two standard RCA sockets. Ahome-made security loop can be usedto link these two input points. Around50cm long, standard 14/36 exiblewire with one RCA plug per end is

enough for the security loop.Fig. 1 shows the circuit of the

electronic bicycle lock. It is poweredby a compact 9V battery (6F22).

Key lock switch S1 and smoothingcapacitor C2 are used for connect-ing the power supply. A connectedloop cannot activate IC1 and there-fore the speaker does not sound. When the loop is broken, zener diodeZD1 (3.1V) receives operating powersupply through resistor R2 to enable

tone generator UM3561 (IC1). IC1remains enabled until power to thecircuit is turned off using switch S1 or the loop is re-plugged through J1and J2.

Assemble the circuit on a general-purpose PCB and house in a small tin-

plate enclosure. Fit the system key lockswitch (S1) on the front side of the en-closure as shown in Fig. 2. Place RCAsockets (J1 and J2) at appropriate posi-tions. Now, mount the nished unit inplace of your existing lock (as shownin Fig. 3) by using suitable clamps andscrews.
