    ANNA UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS 2005

    Effective from the academic year 2005-2006 and applicable to the students to be admitted inNon-Autonomous Engineering Colleges affiliated to Anna University.

    1. Students have to give attendance to their guide and also to the projectcoordinator for each review without fail.

    2. Students have to give power point presentations for Reviews 1,2 and 3.

    3. Students have to submit 4 copies of final report.

    4. Project work shall be carried out under the supervision of a qualified teacher in theconcerned department.

    5. A candidate may, however, in certain cases, be permitted to work on the project in anIndustrial/ Research Organization, on the recommendation of Head of the Departmentwith the Approval of the Head of the Institution. In such cases, the Project work shall be

    jointly supervised by a supervisor of the department and by an Engineer / Scientist fromthe organization and the student shall be instructed to meet the supervisor periodically

    and to attend the review committee meetings for evaluating the progress.

    6. The project work shall carry a maximum of 400 marks of which 80 marks will bethrough internal assessment.

    7. The Project Report prepared according to approved guidelines and duly signed by thesupervisor(s) and the Head of the Department shall be submitted to the Head of theInstitution.

    8. The deadline for submission of final Project Report for is 60 calendar days from the lastworking day of the semester.

    9. If a candidate fails to submit the project report on or before the specified deadline,

    he/she is deemed to have failed in the Project Work and shall re- register for the samein a subsequent semester.

    10. A copy of the approved project report shall be kept in the library of the college /institution.

    11. There shall be three assessments (each 80 marks), by a review committee. The studentshall make presentation on the progress made before the committee. The Head of theInstitution shall constitute the review committee. The internal marks shall be 80 Marksand rounded to the nearest integer.The following will be the weightage:

    Internal Assessment - 20% (80 marks)Evaluation of Project Report by external examiner - 30% (120 marks)

    Viva-Voce Examination - 50% (200 marks)

    12. The evaluation of the Project work will be based on the project report and a Viva-VoceExamination by a team consisting of the supervisor, a common internal examiner and acommon External Examiner . The internal examiner and the external examiner shall beappointed by the University.
