Back Cover

Some successful music videos relate their video to their album cover and artwork. For example, the song ‘Leave It Alone’ by NOFX.

As previously displayed, it is evident that this music video relates to the album cover.

For example, the colour of the music video is tinted pink, which matches the colour of the front album cover.

As for the front cover, the characters are very youthful. The females can be seen jumping into the air, as if they feel free or excited. The boy in this screen shot is on a skate board, which connotes youthful freedom and excitement.

This is another example of how youthful the people are within the video, as they are willing to pull rather juvenile faces and invade the personal space of one another. The man is wearing green, which links to the back cover, with a red strap, which links to the back cover’s font. The font is rather messy, much like the appearance and the hairstyles of these artists. It also links to the boy on the front cover, as it can be suggested by his actions and his facial expression, that he is being equally as ‘silly’ as the band are.

Here, they can be seen putting out a fire with mini water guns. This could be considered obscure, much like the front album cover could be. It also links to the back cover, as a group of people on the back cover can be seen dangerously playing on a pylon, which is seen to be risky and immature. As for this screenshot, they are not appropriately attending to a fire, so this could be seen as another risky thing that they do.

This screen shot links to the front cover’s font and album title. This man has a mohawk, (which is pink like the album cover), which links to the expected term on the title ‘punk’, and to the font used for the ‘NOFX’ title on the album cover. It could also be considered obscure, as for the purpose behind the front cover.

Much like this music video and album, I want my music video to

link ‘Damaged’s album cover. From researching ‘NOFX’, I have learnt

several ways I can successfully achieve this.
