ITEM 11 CITY OF WOLLONGONG TRAFFIC COMMITTEE - MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 18 JANUARY 2017
A meeting of the City of Wollongong Traffic Committee was held on 18 January 2017.
Formal Items 1 – 5, 7 – 11 and 19 - 21 have been adopted by Council through delegated authority.
Item 6 of the meeting must be determined by Council and is recommended to Council for approval for the temporary regulation of traffic on public roads for works or events by independent parties.
RECOMMENDATION
In accordance with the powers delegated to Council, the Minutes and recommendations of the City of Wollongong Traffic Committee Meeting held on 18 January 2017 in relation of the Regulation of Traffic be adopted.

COMPLIANCE WITH OFFICE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES ON COUNCIL DECISION MAKING DURING MERGER PROPOSAL PERIODS
The recommendation in this report satisfies the requirements of the OLG Guidelines - Council Decision Making During Merger Proposal Periods.
BACKGROUND
REGULATION OF TRAFFIC
6 AVONDALE – WARD 3 Cleveland Road, Avondale Road, Huntley Road, Marshall Mount Road (and
Calderwood Road)
Background:
The Illawarra Cycle Club has submitted their program of race events for 2017. Unfortunately the documents were not submitted in time for consideration at a previous Council meeting and therefore a number of the events in the list below cannot be approved through this process.
The traffic management plans for the events are similar to those approved in previous years and accordingly approval for the traffic controls for the events from 26 February 2017 is recommended.

PROPOSAL SUPPORTED UNANIMOUSLY
The submitted traffic management plans (Attachment 2) be approved for the events from 26 February 2016; subject to Council’s Standard Conditions for Road Closures (Attachment 1).
PLANNING AND POLICY IMPACT
This report contributes to the delivery of Wollongong 2022 goal under the objective Community Goal 6 – We have sustainable, affordable and accessible transport.
It specifically delivers on core business activities as detailed in the Transport Services Plan 2016 -17.
