prosecutors office only responding to media
DESCRIPTION
APA Mark Zanghi attempting to rewrite Ohio Public Records law. The AG's office confirmed there is no exception in Ohio law that prevents the Prosecutor's office from releasing the results of the EEOC complaint. The information is protected until the EEOC releases it to the County but then it falls under Ohio law. We may never know if there has been a decision.TRANSCRIPT

Just checking status on the EEOC complaint. I know there was a delay because of the Republican government shutdown but this has gone much longer than usual.[Quoted text hidden]

Ms. Beem,
There is no change in status of the EEOC complaint. Please be advised that if and when a decision is

Mr. Zanghi:
As we know, your office chose to hide the complaint. If the Newark Advocate had not pursued at my relentless insistence that the Oswalt-Thompson child support issue be looked into, I wonder if we would even know about it today so let's please not pretend there has been anything that resembles transparency. When it was published, Oswalt provided a press release that was grossly misleading at best.
Your choice of "if" is curious at best.
It's nice that you intend to notify the media BUT the media doesn't always publish what people should know about public officials. For example, Mr. Shearer has chosen not to publish information regarding the lies in the County's response to the EEOC, even though he has the documentation. I believe we know that any person can request the public information from your office, with or without media credentials. And we know I am not on a fishing expedition. It's been over 6 months and a determination should have been made by now. I wish I could trust your office and the media to do the right thing but history shows I would be foolish to do so. I'll check back in a week.
Regards,Kim Beem
