Stellba – A modern, future-oriented companywith highly motivated employees
A brief history of Stellba• 1957 Stellba hardfacing was founded in Urdorf,
Switzerland• 1982 WKA was founded in Heidenheim, Germany• 1984 Construction of the production facility in
Heidenheim• 2002 Takeover of WKA by Stellba Hydro,
Heidenheim, Germany• 2002 Stellba Hydro was founded in Birrhard,
Switzerland
Our key activitiesStellba Hydro manufactures and repairs hydro powerstations. Our key activities focus on the areas ofinspection and upgrading. We design, machine andassemble new turbines, turbine control systems andcomponents for hydraulic steelworks.
Stellba has its own production facilities in Heidenheim(Germany) as well as in Baden-Daettwil and Birrhard(Switzerland). All production facilities are equippedwith state-of-the-art CNC-controlled machines.Stellba employees are specialists with experience inall types and brands of turbines. A project manageris on hand throughout the entire duration of inspec-tion and modernization of the projects. You, as ourcustomer, then have a single contactperson wholooks after all your technical and organizational requirements.
Our references and our experience• 40 MW Francis turbines – general overhaul• 8.8 MW Kaplan turbines with automation• 32 MW new Pelton runners• more than 500 other demanding projects
Preventive wear protectionHigh flow rates and solid paticals in the water result inextremely short service lives of turbines. Servicelives can be raised considerably by means of hardfa-cing and optimization of components, while at thesame time reducing the maintenance and repair costs.
Stellba has more than 40 years experience in preven-tive wear protection with the use of hardfacing.Various methods of hardfacing are continually impro-ved due to research projects.
